What are the instructions for replacing a starter in a 1992 Isuzu Trooper?
Remove the positive battery cable first. The starter is on the passenger side of the engine. Might be easier to get to from below. Remove the bolts holding the wiring to it than the bolts that mount the starter in place. Be careful if it has shims that you make sure you put them back in the same way. (These are little thin spacers that go between the mounting surface and the starter). Installation is reverse. Probably would take you no more than 30 minutes to do it all.
Where is the egr valve located on 1999 Isuzu trooper?
EGR valve is in engine compartment, next to firewall, slightly left of centerline when looking at the engine from the front (bumper).

Why is 1989 Isuzu Trooper ignition high pitch grinding and won't start the vehicle?
It is possible that the bendix or solenoid on your starter is bad. These allow the starter teeth to move forward to engage the flywheel. Take the starter to a auto parts store and have them check it.

Can you use a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 fuel pump and gas tank in a 1994 Trooper 3.2?
Yes they should be the same
How and where do you check transmission fluid check on 97 Isuzu trooper?
Isuzu uses a fill plug located about a third of the way up the right rear of the transmission housing. Drain the old fluid using the bottom plug. Replace the internal filter while you are at it. Pump in ATF until it starts to run back out the hole for the fill plug, then cap it off, and the level is correct. The thinking is that with a dipstick to check the level, and easy access down the dipstick's tube (the way practically every other company does it), it is too easy for folks to put in the wrong oil, or a combination of fluids that may damage the trans. Makes sense! If the trans is leaking and needs more fluid, it needs to be repaired anyway.
How do you replace a broken antenna on a 1993 Isuzu Trooper?
I did this on a "96" Trooper for a power antenna. Remove the lining in the wheel well above the tire. You should be able to find any replacement screws or clips in your local auto parts store for reinstalling, if needed. You will need to turn your tire all the way to one side for better access of some screws and the antenna itself. There will probably be a couple of screws holding the power antenna unit to the fender. Remove the screws anchoring the power unit. At this time, you probably want to disconnect your car battery. When you open the power unit to reveal the inner workings, the power winder can automatically activate. There will be no way to stop it without disconnecting the battery. You will want to examine how the power unit is wound and copy it with the new antenna. Good luck.
What makes an Izuzu trooper emit white smoke?
As a general rule, white smoke can mean coolant leaking into the combustion cylinder(s). Check your coolant level, see if it's still full, or if it's discolored (like oil is mixing into the water). Check the color of the oil, see if it looks like chocolate milk. If you're losing coolant, I'd say it's possible a head gasket, cracked/warped head, etc.
Make sure it really is white smoke -- if it's "blue smoke", it can simply be burning oil -- valve guides, piston rings. Or it was way overfilled with oil and the excess pressure is forcing the oil past the rings.
A compression test would be a good idea, as would a trip to a mechanic to check it out.
Oil consumption Isuzu trooper 2001?
Regarding oil consumption, synthetic oil is far superior for lubrication than petroleum based oil BUT it has a smaller molecule, one reason why it is superior, and is therefore more easily consumed by the engine.
These Isuzu engines consume more oil because of their PCV system. Misted oil from the crankcase is routed back into the intake and is burned by the engine. If you install an oil trap or "oil catch" to condense the oil so it doesn't pass as a mist into the intake you can put the condensed oil back into your engine instead of losing it. Ebay sells them for 15-30 dollars. They also have an indicator on them to show how much they have collected.
How do you repair the Driver side Power Window when it falls off the track or the linkage breaks?
The window linkage broke on my 94 Trooper months after I bought it in August, 2005. Of course, to get new links I had to buy a whole new track and motor which would have been more expensive than the whole truck! (Not really. . .but I really didn't want to spend that kind of money!) So instead, I purchased some aluminum bracketing wire that plumbers use to hang pipes from rafters. (it comes in a roll that unwinds and bends easily.) I cut a 3-4 inch piece of this to replace each of the old brackets. I bolted one end into the track. I bent the other end into a "V" shape so the window could rest in it. Then I poured the strongest glue I could find around the "V" so it would adhear to the glass. This worked for 7 months before the glue broke. So just today I made new brackets and used the strongest velcro I could find to adhear the glass to the jimmy-rigged brackets. This is working again, but I am unsure of the longevity. The whole thing probably cost less than $10, even for the two repairs. Better than $300+ for a new motor just to get the brackets!
How do you change the starter on your 1994 Isuzu trooper?
---------------- for people with tools and who don't have $400 for labor----:
I am working on a 1993 Isuzu Trooper with the V6 engine.
Notes:
Other web posts suggest the Isuzu starter is the same as a common General Motors light truck starter. (The transmission is GM based).
The battery power arriving at the starter solenoid is always hot. You must disconnect the battery ground before working on the starter.
Other web posts describe three approaches to getting clearance to remove the starter from the engine. The problem is this starter is hard to reach.
One approach is to remove 4 14mm motor mount bolts and raise the engine 1" using a floor jack and a wood block. See automotiveforums dot com. Users report this turns the starter job into a "2 hour job". Really now?
Another approach is to remove the bolt-on frame crossmember under the car. This crossmember is removed when doing trans filter replacement. See answers.com "How do you replace the starter in a 2000 Trooper."
The third approach is disconnect parts of the exhaust system. The problem is exhaust system studs, nuts, gaskets and bolts have to be replaced if you mess with them.
So far, my son and I have jacked up the Isuzu, removed the front wheel, tried to reach the starter through the wheel well, and we have found and turned the 2 13mm flex socket size attachment bolts. The battery is still connected and I can't reach the electrical connections to attach test leads. Getting the starter unwired and out of it's pocket is the big problem.
My starter extraction work plan is: jack engine first, remove crossmember second if needed. I really don't like to touch those old crusty exhaust system bolts.

How do you free a stuck rear brake piston on a 90 Isuzu trooper?
The piston is not stuck. It must be rotated to retract it. There are two depressions on the piston face. Use a pair of needle nose pliars to turn the piston clockwise to retract it. Turn it until the face of the piston is flush with the boot.
