I do not beleive your jeep uses bulbs in the console.

I have a 2000 grand cherokee and it uses a light strip that is part of the console and can only be replaced with the shifter assembly.......

I plan to cut the wires from the light strip and install a pep boys console light that uses replacable bulbs....probably will just lay it in there as long as it is protected and safe...

theres a wire that is attached to the hook that keeps your hood down, if you can see that wire good. now let me tell you: i have a 92 civic, what i do is pull that metalic wire to left away from the hook and it releases the hood. My wire is connected to the hook but not to the release button inside the car. so if your wire is still connected at both ends you might have more trouble opening your hood.

there are 2 engines available, 4.0 inline 6 cyl, a very reliable engine. also a very powerful 4.7 v8 engine, also very reliable,but uses a tad bit more gas.

Hey Ron==This is a pretty big job and unless you are a pretty good mechanic I suggest you take it to an auto trim shop. The trim has to come off of the door then you have undoo the linkage that holds the window and there are very sharp places inside the doors. If you want to tackle it I suggest you get a manual that shows this repair. You will have it for the next repair. GoodluckJoe

one day my 1988 jeep cherokee loredos rpms wouldnt come down i looked at the linkage and it was not accelerated so i reved the motor a little more and then the rpms came back down to normal but when i try to use the passing gear i have no response i have changed the kick down cable, the tps, the plunger next to the tps what else could it be?

I cant find one but if the horn is just making a clicking sound then it's the relay and that is in the glove box just take out the little panel where the rope is attached and its in there.

Buy a can of BG 44K and add it to your fuel. If cleaning them will work this is the stuff to do it but you'll have to call around to shps to get it , its not sold in normall auto stores or hit the net. If this doesn't work change them.

They can either fail open (engine never heats up or heats up slowly and temp fluctuates) or, more normally, closed (engine overheats). But before you condemn it completely, make sure the engine is cold, remove and inspect the 'stat for obvious signs of damage then place it carefully into a pan of near boiling water. After a few seconds a gap should appear between the centre an the outside rim. New stats are relatively cheap but it is essential when replacing that a good seal of the cooling system is made. To stop vapourisation and to keep the temperature down cooling systems work under pressure. It is worth checking for minor leaks / weeps and the proper action of the radiator / expansion bottle / filler cap. You don't say which vehicle it is but they all use smilar principles.
