the 4.0 six in a 90 jeep Cherokee is not a v6 it is an inline 6. the firing order is 153624

If you have the factory installed anti-theft this should work:

put the key in the door, turn it in this order:

left, right, left the door will be unlocked and the alarm off.

you will need to do this every time you get in the vehicle if its locked.

I asked me dealer if i could permanently disable it, or if there was a valet switch under the dash, both questions NO.

If your alarm keeps going off even if you are opening the door correctly, have the battery checked, when the battery gets low it can cause the anti-theft to act wacky. Eventually when your battery goes dead you will not be able to dis-able the anti-theft at all, and will need to have it towed a dealer to get the computer re-programmed as well as a new battery.

If it is a factory (OEM)security system. Go to passenger door and lock/unlock 2 times to clear/reset fact security system. If your battery is weak or toast you need to replace or problem will continue .

* this is easy... first take the inside door panel off the door, and then take off the plastic insulation. Unbolt the old window from the regulator, slip the old window out of the door. you then place the new window in the door bolting it back onto the regulator, and there you have it a new window installed. Just make sure your weather striping is in the right place, you dont want water getting in. (If you have trouble getting the old window out, you can smash it. However, it gets messy and if you dont know how to take the old window out, how do you plane getting the new one in?) * You also have to remove the vent window to slip out the old window and replace the new one.

you have to locate the factory code it might be on the back hach of your suv. or on the drivers door or undr the hood, if you cant find it call the dealer ship and they can give it to you by your vin.

The fuse for the speed control is in the main fuse block under the hood on the left hand side. It is number 20 fuse .To locate this fuse in the block, If the large fuses are on your right the fuse you want is fifth row from left ,fourth row down.It also controls the heated rear window and is a 10 amp fuse.

Sorry but, you don't know this one. There are 3 one on each manifold and one on the top of the catalytic converter. There about $200 each at auto store. Find them cheaper online. There are two, one right before the catalytic converter and one right after. The computer compares the two, and adjusts fuel accordingly. The front one runs a little hotter and tends to need replacing more often. However, save yourself the headache and change them both at the same time. Heck, you're already dirty.

depending on what you mean by disarm the car alarm, it may be as simple as putting the key in either the front driver or front passenger door and turning towards the rear of the car once or twice. the driver door keyhole on my 93 no longer works to disarm, so i use the front passenger door.

the horn fuse is on the right hand passenger side of the dash.

In cooler weather, it will take the fan a lot longer to be energized. One way to do a quick check, is to turn on the A/C. All the fan(s) should turn on with the A/C running. Some people call an engine a motor. So I am not sure if you are talking about the fan motor or the engine. If you are saying that the fan motor was checked and is good then the Thermal sensor is bad, or you have a loose or disconnected wire. The fan comes on at a predetermined temperature when it receives a siganl from the relay. you'll need to check the fan switch located on the radiator or there abouts, when you jump it the fans should come on...also make sure there is power to the switch...if theres power, and you jump it and they don't come on..its most likely the fan motor...if no power, there may be a bad relay or fuse...good luck also... everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and a professional shop manual should be available at the library in the reference section--you can make copies of the necessary information...good luck :)

The factory master code cannot be reprogrammed...however you can program a personal code that is easier to remember. on my 2003 this is the procedure: 1. enter the 5 digit master code. 2. press 1/2 3. enter your own 5 digit code. 4. lock the vehicle. 5. test your new code. I removed the master code from my vehicle so that it can't be copied by the guy at the local car wash or local garage.

Go to a parts store that can check your computers codes, if it is on constantly it is a hard code and something that is actually wrong, not just a temporary problem. ABS would be a sensor or something for the ABS most likely.

If all of the lights are on constantly, and you have been very good with all your maintenance and repairs and have not been in any kind of accident or driving off road, I would suspect you have a major electric issue, such as the PCM or ECM or BCM. Not sure exactly what control modules the Dakota has. Also be aware, that in most cases, multiple types of scanners may be needed for checking multiple systems and is usually the case for ABS systems, so a standard code reader/scanner may not pinpoint your problem.

It depends on where you buy it. On-line you can find them from $100 to $300. I did mine a couple of months ago and it was $125 with shipping. Be aware that the grill, headlights, and bumper cover need to come off in order to remove the radiator, it sounds like a lot but if you are careful and have access to a good manul its not that bad.

Look under the Jeep, just in front of the fuel tank. Actually, the fuel filter is with the fuel pump inside the gas tank. The gas tank has to be dropped to replace this.

Trouble code P1492 means: Ambient/ Battery Temp sensor input voltage too high

You need to siphon it out. You'll also need several gas cans if the tank is full.

I put an aftermarket one on mine a while back but this is only good for 93-98...if yours is newer it may be different. If i remember right to take it off you have to open the rear hatch and take off that plastic strip on the top part of the bumper that should just pop up with a screwdriver...maybe a screw or two. Then go around the rest of the plastic part of the bumper looking where it is held on which again should be nothing but plastic clips that will pull off. Once that is off you can get to the metal underneath that should just be a few bolts holding it on. I cant really remember how the rest came off...some help i am. I've never put one back on but if you dont break the clips it should just pop back on.

The removal process is made very easy by purchasing an inexpensive door panel removal tool. Use this tool to remove the plastic snap rivets from the bottom and top of the bumper cover and inside wheel well coverings as needed. A 10mm deep socket is used to remove two nuts on the inside of each rear fender. Use a torx head driver to remove the fasteners just inside the left and right side of the tailgate. Once these fasteners are removed, carefully pull the rear corner panels away from the body. They are held in place by two plastic horizontal V clips so a popping noise is normal. The bumper cover is now free to be pulled off

The 10mm screws are accessed by removing the rear of the inner fender well covers held in place by two plastic push pins.

Rocker Arm problems, specifically with them falling off, are common with 2000 JGC's. You can get the code read, which will point to the cylinder that has the failed rocker arm and then remove the left or right rocker cover to inspect. The problem with the falling off rocker arms tends to be a slippage of the valve guides that leaves the valve to hang up and removes the stress from the rocker so it just falls off. Replace the heads. Replace the HEADS? Sounds drastic. How about repairing the heads?
