97 Jeep GCL What causes AC to come out of the defrost vents not the front vents?

I answered this question just a few prior, but you have a vacuum hose leak. The defroster vent is the "default" setting when this occurs. Open your engine hood, look slightly left of center up along the firewall. There is a really tiny black hose coming from within the firewall that "Ts" into another hose. It's hopefully broken where visible. Use a piece of tubing like a splice and fit the original ends into each end of the new piece. If it's broken on the other side of the firewall, the entire dashboard will have to be pulled. And I've both read and been told that's not a job for mere mortals to tackle. But take your time and look around. And be gentle 'cuz you don't want to screw up this very tiny piece of tubing. Good luck.

What does air suspension do?

• Earlier cars had steel spring suspension, and the similar functionality is achieved with air suspension, however this is better than steel spring suspension as it can be controlled by varying the air pressure in the air springs. This provides drivers with safer driving, better comfort and sportier handling. •Also it adjusts the vehicle's body level to driving conditions and load changes.

What is the purpose of an air bag suspension?

Air bag suspension is to add some degree of adaptability to your suspension system. Fixed coil spring systems work great for their intended purpose but have several draw backs when towing or moving large loads. Having air bags allows the owner to adjust the the amount of "spring" in the suspension. lowering the amount of air pressure when carrying a light load allows for a smoother ride, while increasing the amount of pressure drastically increases the amount of weight that can be handled without bottoming out.

Oxygen Sensor

There are actually (4) O2 sensors on your truck. If you look inside the wheel wells behind the fender liner, right about where the frame is one O2 sensor, the other is underneath the truck about half way back in relation to the transmission. If you see where the exhaust joints together, you went about 6" too far.
When you start looking at the O2 sensors, they are normally numbered something like "Bank 1 Sensor 1" Bank 1 is on the passenger side; Bank 2 is on the driver's side. Sensor 1 is the upstream sensor (near the frame, between the block and the cat) and Sensor 2 is near the Y-pipe (downstream of the cat).

Normally it is the upstream sensors (sensor 1) that go first. They see the harshest conditions.

You will need;

Oxygen Sensor Socket

Anti-Seized

Penetrating Oil

I have even used a small plumbers propane tank and heat it up and it help get them free.

Sometimes it will take 15 minutes or take a few hours it depends on your luck…

How do you reset oil change required on 2006 Lincoln navigator?

How to Reset the Change Engine Oil Message

The Aztek uses the GM Oil Life System to calculate when to change your engine oil and

filter based on vehicle use. It is widely thought to determine oil life by counting engine

revolutions. While there is much debate about the merits of such a system as a basis for

determining when to change engine oil, the system should be reset after each oil change

to ensure that the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message does not appear inappropriately.

There are two procedures for resetting the system, one for Aztek's with a DIC (Driver

Information Center) and one for Aztek's without a DIC.

PROCEDURE 1: Aztek's with a DIC

1. Turn the ignition to ON with the engine off.

2. Press the MODE button until the DIC reads "OIL LIFE LEFT/HOLD SET TO

RESET"

3. Press and hold the SET button until 100% is displayed.

You will hear three chimes and the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message (if illuminated)

will go off. Repeat this procedure if the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message comes back

on.

PROCEDURE 2: Aztek's without a DIC

1. Turn the ignition to ON with the engine off.

2. Fully push and release the accelerator pedal slowly three times within five seconds.

3. Turn the key to OFF.

If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message continues to be illuminated, repeat the

procedure.
