Where and how many oxygen sensors are on a 2000 Mazda MPV?

There 4 total, one before the catalytic converter (upstream) and one after (downstream). Same for both sides. And the catalytic converter is built into the exhaust manifolds, one per side, so all 4 are technically in the exhaust manifolds. Now aks how easy they are 2 change. Not very. The two after the catalytic converter are OK to get at from below the car. The two above are tough. I took out the rad to get at the front one. Still trying to figure out how to get at the rear one. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How can you install rear ac in Mazda mpv lx 2005 that you bought recently is this something that can be done easily or difficult or risky?

This is not something that any home mechanic nor even a Mazda dealer/mechanic would or should attempt. It would require a major interior ripout, plumbing of A/C lines, wiring, installation of vents, controls, condenser, etc. If you didn't buy the van with rear A/C it's too late. Sorry, Your Humble Home Mechanic. P.S. Anything can be done if you throw enough money at it and I have a feeling this would require a lot of throwing and give you a sub-standard system plus with the extra incentive of creating new rattles!

How do you change engine timing belt on a Mazda 1992 mpv v6 3.0?

Answer

Changing the timing belt on any engine involves removing all the accessory drive belt on the engine (alternator, power steering, a/c if equipped, water pump if applicable, and so on). After that you must remove the timing belt cover(s), and usually the crankshaft pully/ harmonic balancer. The belt must then be removed and replaced, making sure that the camshaft(s) and crankshaft and any balance shafts are lined up in the proper position. As a technician, i would recommend having this done by a shop or dealer, or very closely following a repair manual

Where to locate Oil plug 2000 Mazda mpv?

how to change oil and filter on a mpv 2000 mazda

Why would a Mazda MPV make a squealing noise when you start it?

The vehcile has three drive belts which have likely stretched over time and are now slipping. Of the three, the alternator drive belt is the likely culprit. Locate the alternator drive belt (it's the belt that extends from the alternator and goes furthest to the left of the engine). The alternator drive belt has three pulleys: The middle pulley (idler pulley) can be adjusted to tighten the drive belt. Loosen (but do not remove!) the idler pully bolt. Place a pry bar between the left pulley and the idler pully and push down forcing the idler pulley up. While maintaining downward pressure on the pry bar, tighten the idler pulley nut. If the squeal remains, perform this task on the other two pulleys.

NOTE: If you notice the squeal more when you turn on the headlights, it's probably coming from your alternator belt. If the the noise is greater when you turn on your heat/air conditioning, it's likely one of the other two.

If it STILL squeals after this, it is in fact a sheared bolt (#1) to the manifold. This will allow exhaust gases to escape. It will possibly need skimming too at the manifold end to cure. Good luck.

How do you replace the headlight retention spring for a 2000 Mazda mpv?

Where do you find the dip stick for a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville power steering unit?

The power steering pump is on the back side of the engine, on the passenger side, under the alternator. The dipstick is on the cap itself. Unscrew the cap, pull it out, wipe it off, reinsert it, pull it out again, the fluid level should be between the hot and cold marks.

2001 Mazda MPV that has the bank one sensor one O2 sensor gone bad How do you know which sensor this is and where it is located?

Typically Bank 1 Sensor 1 refers to the same bank that cylinder 1 is on. Being that there is 3 o2 sensors on this vehicle,1 sensor is always before the cataletic converter. Bank 1 sensor 1 should be located to the front of the vehicle. Dude, I just changed this same sensor on a 2000 model so unless the model changed a ton from the following year this should help you. You need to get underneath the car. Because the engine is turned sideways the first sensor on Bank 1 is near closer to the driver than the front of the vehicle. Just follow the tailpipe up to the engine. The first one goes up and it's in a tight position, but do what you can to get to it. Lot's of WD-40. good luck. There are 4 of them on this car. Bank one sensor one is the one in the manifold(upstream of the cat for that side) on the rear side of the engine. It's technically the right side since as mentioned the engine is sideways. Of the 4 it's the hardest to get at. It's always th eone whos heater fails because its location has the worst conditions. I paid $40 to have it changed. And make sure you have the right heatewr wattage or the check engine light will stay on although this won't hurt anything. Using the factory part rather than aftermarket is the safe way to ensure this.

Why did my Car stall when driving and restart again?

Bad fuel filter or maybe some water in the gas tank.

Where is the starter located on 1997 Mazda MPV?

How do you replace the alternator on a 1991 Mazda MPV?

Going on the 3.0 L 4 wheel drive model the alternator is actually removable without removing the axle or lifting the engine as I've read over and over. Remove the bolts on the alternator. Remove the belt. You will likely have to remove the belt assembly in front of the lower mounting bolt. Remove the two connecting wires and viola, easily lifted out. Brush change is the likely option to fix the regulator. If the voltage regulator is at fault, apparently this isn't servicable and the whole unit will have to be replaced.

Will it hurt anything to leave the key stuck in the egnintion on acc in a Mazda van?

It will not hurt anything to leave the key stuck in the ignition on ACC in a Mazda van for short periods of time. The ACC slot on the ignition allows the driver to use accessories such as the air conditioner and radio without the car being in motion. If the key is left in this position for too long it can run down the battery in the car.

What is the spark plug diagram on a 2004 Mazda MPV?

Changing the plugs on the 04 MPV is a pain.

The front three plugs are easy to get to - just remove the black plastic cover over the engine block (3 screws) and they're right there (but deeply recessed in the block).

But you have to remove the manifold to get to the back three plugs.

I wish they'd design these things with maintenance in mind.
