It may be your spark plug wires. I had a Honda that hesitated when going up hill or when accelerating and it ended up being that the spark plug wire insulation had some hair line cracks causing the wires to short. I replaced the wires and havent had the issue since.

First you will need 4stereo removal tools, you need the 'U' shaped ones. You can get these at auto zone they come 2 in a package so get 2 packages. Then on each side of your stereo there will be two slim tabs you can pop off. Under there there will be 3 holes on each side. Put the removal tools into the hole (the middle hole is bigger so that two can fit in). once all four tools are in simply pull outward away from the stereo and it should slide right out. All of this is in the users manual.

There seems to be a problem with the wiring if these things work occasionally. Run a diagnostics on the wiring from the fuse box.

with a 10mm socket remove the two ignition coils and the two spark plug wires,

using a 5/8 spark plug socket and one long extension and a ratchet remove the spark plugs and install the new ones

check your fluid, metal shavings could indicate your torque converter is grinding and about to fail, or check that your fluid level is even topped up! (look for leaks) anything else would require removal of the transmission to inspect and diagnose

I you mean haw to make it to sound: On the side of the steering wheel, at about 3:00 and 9:00. If you are asking about the horn, its located behind the right corner of the fron bumper. You have to remove the black cover that it under the car. Mazda put hard encourage in hiding it .

You have to take off the serpentine belts so that you can remove the pulley for the water pump. You also have to take off the cam head so that you can get to the timing belt case and remove the plastic splash guards in front of the water pump. Remove the timing belt, then there are 4 bolts attaching the water pump. Remove those bolts and then disconnect the water intake and put your new pump in and replace the timing belt. **Make sure that your timing marks are located where they need to be before replacing the timing belt.**

remove the two bolts one from the top and the second from underneath and disconnect the cables (one held on by a nut in a plastic casing) which are assessable from beneath disconnect the AC line held by brackets with two small bolts on the steering rack and and gently push to one side, also undo the two 17mm bolts that hold the exhaust flanges together remove the rubber grommets and push the exhaust out of the way and only then will you be able to drop the alternator thru this tight space.

what is your ?, a MAF is basicly a IAT The Mazda Protege and Protege 5 2.0L engine has an IAT Sensor located just past the factory air filter box. It is a two wire sensor that plugs into the intake tube via a rubber grommet. The three wire plug in the Mass Air Flow Sensor. DO NOT Unplug either of these sensors while the vehicle is running or key turned to accessory. Will cause a flag in the computer and turn on the Check Engine Light. Hope this helps.

Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem

Problem Solved: The previous owner installed the incorrect tail/turn/stop light bulbs. The bulbs had only one filiment instead of two. All is working perfectly now. Don't go to Walmart to find auto parts. Go to a REAL part store!

This really depends on how hard you're willing to work to make it fit. If you don't want to make modifications to the car, then the only engine that will fit is the original engine size. If you are willing to make lots of modifications you can choose any engine you so desire.

Automatic choke stuck open

I had the same problem with my Jeep Wrangler. My tail lights were also not working. Turns out the same fuse controls both (at least in my vehicle) and when the tail lights go out, the dimmer goes out so you know there's a problem. Check your fuse.

The Mazda Protege fuel reset button can be found on the firewall in the engine compartment. The reset button will be in the middle of the firewall.
