How much boost can a stock 1997 eclipse gst with large front mount intercooler and hks bov take?
a BoV is always a bad idea with stock ECU/tuning, you will in fact lose alot of horsepower just throwing a BoV on your GST... FInd a good BPV for your car and recirculate it back into the intake.
Also, your front mount/BoV has nothing to do with how much boost you run, in running more boost you need to get better forged rods, piston heads, etc. Also your stock T25 turbo can only push up to about 15psi safely but you shouldn't surpass the stock setting of 12 psi.
YOU WANT TO INCREASE BOOST? Bigger turbo, better rods, fmic (front mount), external wastegate, a good piggyback (DSMLINK), or a true Standalone engine management system with extensive TUNING. ---All necessities.
The cause is most likely the main bearings being worn, and/or oil pump being worn out. It usually depends on the year and how many miles are on the car. My best solution would be to go to a shop and get the specifications on how much oil pressure is what at a specified rpm.

First pop open the hood, remove air intake hose off of throttle body. You will see a brown or black motor with a wiring connector on it just below the throttle body opening. Remove wiring harness and remove the 2 or 3 bolts holding it on. Installation is reverse of removal. Sidenote: Sometimes these only need to be cleaned up. If you remove it and find it's black and dirty, clean with some brake clean or air intake cleaner and reinstall.
