Is pajero a good offroader?

I wondered too. So I found a 4x4 one day course and drove a Jeep Cherokee and a LWB Pajero. Pajero beat the jeep hands down - great with diff lock on. The water was about the middle of the wheels. Shogun and Pajeros impressed our party of 4 - so we bought one each. Never regretted it since and that was 5 years ago.

How do you set the timing on a 2001 Mitsubishi montero sport engine code 6G72?

If this is the engine with no distributor (has plug-wires directly connected to the ignition coils) then you cannot "set" the ignition timing.

It is controlled by the computer. You CAN however check the "basic timing setting" by grounding the test wire connector and looking at the timing marks on the crank pulley at the pointer with a timing light. The front passenger side cylinder is Number 1 for the timing light connector.

Your basic timing should be running between 2-10 degrees advanced. This must be checked on a fully warmed up engine. The crankshaft position sensor (inside the lower timing cover) is where this is "set" and it is not "adjustable" in any real sense of the word.

Good luck.

You have 2003 Mitsubishi Montero sport when start and driving the automatic transmission 4 wheel light continually flashing It drives and changes gear ok what could be the problem?

If it is flashing, then your vehicle is still in 4 wheel drive. It will drive just fine, the only thing you will notice, is on pavement turning the wheel at slow speeds it will feel like its lobbing in the front end, this is because the front wheels are turning. Bring to Mitsubishi garage and they can tell you if the indicator switch is bad ot an indicator switch.

The Mitsubishi Montero is RWD but only when it is in 2WD, when shifted into 4WD it obviously uses all 4 wheels. But when just going around the city and high way it is RWD.

How do you reset the electronic compass on a 1998 mits montero sport xls?

Type your answer here... On a 1998 Montero Sport its shown within the owners manual on page 52 Compass Adjustment. I faced directly North, pressed the small adjustment switch (just at the bottom right of the circular compass) for about i second. Their will be a symbol S shown in the display window of the compass. Continue to press the adjustment switch until all of the S symbols disappear and the remaining S will begin to revolve along the scale first clockwise then counter clockwise.

At this state or point as your vehicle has be running..., slowly turn the vehicle through a 360 degree turn. This should automatically complete the adjustment. It sounds more complicated than it is and I've done this a couple of times myself after having to replace a battery so I know it works.

Where is 2001 Montero subwoofer located?

It should be on the driver's side of the rear cargo area (3rd row). It's behind a little black grill on the left when you are standing at the open rear door. If you can figure out how to get that grill of, let me know. My sub is blown and need to swap it out.

Ticking noise - Montero 2000 Sport?

I can tell you mineis ticking because of a bad hydraulic valve lifter.

Yes that's right but, mine had been ticking for about two weeks and I got to the point that I hated driving my truck. I used a bottle of Sea Foam available at any auto parts store. I pulled a vacuum hose on the top of the intake with engine running, and let it suck some into the intake cleaning any carbon deposits out. I then dumped the rest into the crank case where the oil goes make sure to not overfill it though. I've gone two months with no ticking!

How do you replace a headlight assembly on a 2001 montero sport?

I was also looking for help with this and had to figure it out for myself so here is the answer.

1. Open the hood.

2. Unplug the headlamp.

3. Do not try and remove the bezel from the headlight assembly.

4. Remove center grill. One bolt center bottom - reach from underneath. Mine was broken at the bracket so not sure but should be evident how to remove. 4 plastic clips on top of grill, push in release on clip with screwdriver. Be careful, they are easy to break.

5. Locate 10mm bolt on left of assembly and remove.

6. Locate 2 10mm nuts on right side (turn signal side) Reach these from underneath. Remove the plastic wheel well covering just enough to expose the turn signal plug. One nut is above the plug and the other below.

7. Remove 10mm bolt from top of assembly. Remove assembly enough to unplug the turn signal then remove completely with attached bezel. The bezel can be removed by 4 screws.

How do you fix a 1996 Montero buzzing turn signal switch?

If you mean that you hear a buzzing sound when holding the turn signal lever in the space between the

off/centered position and either of the on/turning positions then the answer is you have ruined your switch.

The noise you hear is caused by arcing electricity between the burned contacts inside the switch.

These switches WILL NOT hold up to that kind of abuse, they are designed to be fully off or fully on

only. Holding them in the middle is what makes them burn up.

Your switch will have to be replaced with a new one, and you must ONLY fully engage the new switch (even

if just changing lanes, no more holding it!).

Hope this helps

Where is the flasher unit to fix a left turn signal on a '96 Mitsubishi Montero?

Hey Tina==If just the left signal is staying on, it isn't the flasher. One of the bulbs, either front or rear, are burned out. Find out which one isn't working and I think you have to take the housing off of the car to change the bulb. GoodluckJoe If the bulb is not burned out, it's most likely the turn signal combination switch. The turn signal portion of it easily breaks off internally, leaving the signal in the last position (left in your case). The combination turn signal and light switch will need to be replaced. On some Montero models that can be be done without removing the steering wheel. Just removed the bottom steering wheel cover, move the steering wheel in the lowest position and remove the top cover. Then remove the two screws that keep the combination switch in place, unplug the wiring plugs (press plug release and pull out). Relative easy procedure. Buying a new switch will be the most painful part, OEM parts are expensive. Maybe you cna find a refurbished combination switch at an acceptable price.
