Probably that you're burning oil. This could be for several reasons, the most likely being that your piston rings are faulty/worn.

Coolant entering the combustion chamber. You have a blown head gasket or a cracked head. Warning: Stop running this engine or serious damage will occur.

Saturns are known for consuming a bit more oil than other cars,that is a slight blue smoke. A white smoke is considered condesation in the exaust , and just burning thru the system, but keep a close check on the cold level of your cooling system every day for a few days.... if the level is low you may have a head gasket that is starting to seep ,causing the extra mosture in the exaust system . You may hold off the gasket replacement for awhile by adding a cooling system stop leak additidive.

When hydrocarbons such as gasoline burn, the products are carbon dioxide and water.

Black smoke= rich condition(too much fuel and not enough air). Blue smoke = burning oil(engine components excessivly worn). White smoke= possible blown head gasket. Check oil to see if coolant is mixing in. Also check coolant level to see if it is loosing it. Have cylinder compression test done to verify head gasket problem. Other possibilities are a cracked cylinder head or engine block.

Blue/grey smoke is usually oil. White smoke is usually coolant in the exhaust. IE: blown head gasket or something. note: if the smoke goes away after it runs for a minute it's oil runnung down the valves when it sits. Common problem, won't hurt anything.

The engine needs tuning to reduce the fuel flow to the injector. Check also the fuel filter.

Varies from car to car. Is it just the muffler or are the pipes a problem? Find out where the noise is coming from, check for holes, black soot or just air coming out. Be careful, it might be hot, expecially the converter & front pipe sections.

I can think of two factors that would cause manifold cracks. One is the constant heating (expansion) and cooling (contraction) of the manifold, and the second is the vibration. These two factors both result in metal fatigue and are the likely cause of most failures. Perhaps there are experts in metal fatigue out there who would like to weigh in with a more informed response. == I've had some experience with Fatigue, but I'm no expert. I would not expect the manifold to fail due to fatigue as that implies it is under cyclic loading. The heat cycles can be a factor but that is a thermal problem and not a loading problem. I would expect that it has to do with heat cycles and rapid cooling due to something like rain hitting the exhaust. Custermen

If water is actually leaking there you have a bad freeze plug in the engine block... confirm by crawling underwith a good flashlight, the motor mount may have to be removed to replace......

Yes , for many reasons. Bad/dirty electrical ground circuit will cause different sensor(s) to report incorrect information back to the computer & illuminate check engine lamp. An over or undercharging alternator will cause check engine lamp to illuminate. Easiest way to repair is to determine what computer code is stored in computer as a result of the lamp being on. Once the code has been determined , then the appropriate diagnostics can be started.

All O2 sensors are located somewhere on your exhaust pipe.

Yes it will but it depends on the tone u want.. remember if its a stock muffler it might not be the sound your looking for. plus it could make exhaust gasses enter the car when your not moving. i dont think its worth it.. just replace your muffler. i love my dynomax super turbo on my inline 6 jeep.

Put in a Borla cat-back exhaust, you will be greatly satisfied.

possibly a blown oil ring, pull cy and check rings. ANSWER: Rather then pulling the cylinder, you can do a compression test on both cylinders and compare them to what the factory says they should be at. If you have low compression in one cylinder and oil coming out of the exhaust, most likely then you have a bad oil control ring on the piston.

Sounds like its burning coolant. Perhaps it needs a new head gasket....

what you do when you get a check engine light is one of two things. the easy way to reset your computer is to take your key and put it into the ignition. turn the key from off to on 10 times. than after the 10th time take it and turn the key to start it. this should turn that pesky light off. if it doesnt go off i know autozone has a free diagnostic that they came plug in and tell you what is wrong. 90% of the time it is a bad 02 sensor and its just easier to replace them. hope this helps out

the silencer is the muffler part of the exhaust system. it quietens the ATV

I have a 97 Mitsubishi Galant and the exhaust is sucking air back into the car instead of expelling them. What could be the possible problems. My thoughts suggest you get a motor-mechanic to find out...

The old standard that we used was: Black smoke = too much fuel Blue smoke = Oil White smoke = water Hope this helped. Exactly, white smoke is a sign of coolant in the combustion chamber. Stop driving the car and have it looked at by a professional immediately.

This could be caused by a clogged PCV valve, worn internal seals, or worn valve guides. A clogged PCV valve will pressurize the engine internally, which force oil past important seals into the exhaust stream. Likewise with worn seals, oil simply leaks out. Worn valve guides makes it possible for oil to seep down the exhaust valve into the exhaust stream.
