Why does 1998 Plymouth breeze stall?

In accord with my own experiences, the five-speed standard transmission Breeze will stall if there is too little acceleration (RPMs) as you let up the clutch too quickly. When this occurs, more likely during the warmer months of the year, and you immediately try to start again, then the fuel injector system dumps a second spray of fuel into the engine which wets out the plugs by what is called "flooding". In fact, the more times you try to restart, the greater the "flooding" becomes. To prevent the problem in the first place, listen to the engine RPMs as you properly let up the clutch. But the fastest remedy when stalling does occur is to sit and wait for the plugs to dry off before turning over the engine again. This could take up to five minutes, so if you're in traffic, put on your four-way flashers and don't let anyone in the car open any doors. Stay put while you're waiting for the plugs to dry off, or immediately call for help.

How do you repair oil getting into spark plug tubes on a 1997 Plymouth Breeze?

Buy a valve cover gasket kit & it will include the seals that keep oil from getting in the tubes. You pull the valve cover & the seals are in the cover. You remove them from the inside. Make sure you understand how they go back in. There is a taper on the inside of the seal. This has to face the inside of the valve cover.

How do you change a keyswitch in a 1999 Chevy pickup 1500 4x4?

Chevy ignition switchI just replaced the ignition switch on a 1995 1 ton and a 2001 1/2 ton, both were about the same, assuming your speaking of the mechanical part with the tumblers, that the key slides into. Anyway, you pull the plastic off the steering collumn, typically you have to work the shifter up or down if its an automatic in order to get the peices out. once you get to the inside, you just insert the key and turn it to on, you will want to disconnect the battery before taking these last steps. The should be a really small hole in the top of the housing that holds the ignition switch, with the key in either "on" or the "start" position, you should be able to push the "lock" down by putting something in the hole pushing down the spring loaded "lock" that keeps the ignition switch from sliding out. Then you should be able to slide it out and install the new one. Some times they are difficult, so be patient, try with the key in "start" position first (this why you need to unplug the battery). anyway, if you have anymore questions, post' em...-Jason

Where are the automatic transmission speed sensors located on a 1997 Plymouth Breeze?

The output sensor is in front of the left side of the transmission and can be accessed from under the front of the car. The input sensor is harder to find. It is on top of the transmission near the center of the transmission. To see it, you need to remove the air box and then an electrical connector on top of the transmission that is held in place by a 5/16" screw. It is just behind that black plastic connector. Both sensor will require a 1" socket or box wrench to remove.

What causes your 1996 Plymouth breeze automatic transaxle to be stuck in second gear reset mode?

This behavior is programmed into the transmission controller so that when its self-diagnostic capability has detected a fault that could cause damage it will only drive in 2nd gear which uses a minimum number of circuits. It is called "limp-in" mode.

the best ting to do is to get a "readout of the transmission computer" (not th same plug as the engine computer) which is an electronic test for the presence of coded numbers representing different faults that the transmission is experiencing at the time when it locks up into 2nd gear.

How do you replace the wiper arm on a Plymouth Breeze?

Assuming that you mean "wiper blade" (blade and frame) which are replaced often rather than "wiper arm" (piece from the spindle at the hood to the wiper blade) which are rarely ever replaced, the Plymouth Breeze has the most common hook-end wiper arms. See Sources and Related Links below for installation videos. Also, purchase the replacement blades first and there will be additional instructions/illustrations on the replacement packages. Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.

Why does the check engine light comes on for our 1997 Plymouth Breeze?

The check engine light (service engine soon) comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. Generally, the problem is in the emissions or something that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions, but other causes can trigger the light to come on, too. To determine the cause, the vehicle will need to be taken to AutoZone or a shop that has an OBD2 scanner, or for 1995 and earlier models, an OBD1 scanner, While a scanner will not give you the magic answer, it will give you a code that narrows down the problem area.
