If the idle stop needs an adjustment the 2.5 four can have the stop on the linkage bent slightly to adjust

If your 2.8 V 6 will not idle below 1500 rpm you most likely have a broken egr tube, very common failure.

Wheel bolt pattern: 5 x 100

It is located in between the upper and lower intake manifolds by your fuel rod

The first distributor less cars started appearing in the mid 1980s the last distributor being produced in about 1990

There's a kit for that. Check the internet for fiero clubs and ask around.

There are actually seven fuel injectors. Six on the main fuel rail and one that acts as a cold start injector.

The cold start is very easy to get to. It sticks by itself alone on the passenger side of the motor below the intake.

For the main six injectors, you have to remove the red intake plenum assembly. Once you remove it, you will see the fuel injector rail with three sticking out on both sides. Relieve pressure to the system and then remove the rail.

the fuel tank has to be dropped from the car to access it.

The problem lies with the radiator not being able to flow enough air due to the trapping of air under the front cover. If air can't flow out, it can't flow in. I suggest adding vents or as I am doing, add a cowl induction hood scoop. Cut out the area between the spare tire compartment and the radiator. Air coming in through the radiator can now flow freely up and out from under the car. It should also help with reducing the amount of lift when traveling at highway speeds. I notice that at 130 mile per hour, the car wants to get really light in the front end.

A cheaper and less labour intensive solution would be to put in a new rad, if your car still has the original there is a good chance it is corroded and damaged from road debris. Another solution is to check the coolant pipes running under the car for kinks. This is a common problem where people have jacked on and kinked the lines as they are close to the jacking points on the chassis.

It should be attached to the base of the throttle body.

The engine support cradle is usually what fails

There isn't one, you just have to have the car unlocked and press on the left side of the door and it will pop open.

There is a button on the dash board to release the rear deck lid . It is to the right of the speedometer.It is the top button. The button may not work all of the time. I have found a grounding problem with the release selinoid in my car. To open the front trunk there is a release under the dash on the left about 6 inches in by your left knee .

It is required by law in some places and if you block it off the check engine light will occasionally come on.

My right head light door pops open at 124 mph and that causes enough additional drag it slows the car down down.

It isn't a single part, so removing it would be a problem.

If you wish to disengage the handbrake, apply light pressure to the button on the end of the parking brake lever. Lift the lever upwards (there will be some resistance) until the button presses inwards. With the button held in, lower the lever to the floor, then release the button.

On the 1984 the switch is located on a metal plate in the engine compartment side of the trunk--it is just a pin switch--probably the metal plate has bent down--or if you want just remove the wire on the switch

A work around it to remove the ajar light bulb from the instrument panel. Make sure your trunk light or spare tire compartment light are out or you will drain the battery.

Remove the center console (glovebox) and shift surround. Then disconnect the battery. Remove the computer and the computer mounting box. Remove the two rear bolts holding the skeleton in place. Disconnect the cable at the trans. and at the shifter and mark the positions. Carefully raise the rear of the skeleton and pull the cable out the back side of the skeleton then pull it and the rubber grommet from the engine compartment. Install in reverse order.

It's two bolts. There is a top alternator bolt and an lower adjustment bolt. Loosen both bolts enough to slip off the alternator belt. Remove the bolts, and then slide the alternator down and under the car through the passengerside wheel well. Installation is the reverse of above.

There is one belt on a fiero. You take off the passenger side rear wheel. you should be able to see the slider that the alternator is mounted on. loosen the bolt at the top of the alternator and then loosen the bolt on the slider. This will release the tention on the belt. The trick is going to be getting the tention right when you put the new belt on. You might need another person to help you by using a bar of some kind to pry on the alternator while you tighten the bolts. don't wrench on it too hard though. there should be aboout a 1/4 inch of play if you push in the center of the belt between two pulleys.

I'm not sure about the speedometer, but if the tach is not working a good bet would be the tach filter. With age, a wire often breaks off on these. Look in one of the service manuals to find location. The speedometer may have a similar sensor, but I'm not certain. Thanks! I will check out the book ASAP. Appreciate your answering.

The alternator lives low on the passenger side rear of the engine.
