I once had the same problem in my 89 Sunbird turbo. The computer "ECM" went bad and the speedo stopped working. I would see what ECM codes you have causing the check engine light and go from there.

The oil filter is located behind the passenger side front wheel well.

there is no-such thing as "hood reset" but the hood pop hook is located on the lower driver side labeled HOOD

I don't know about a 93, but my 94"s is located at the exhaust manifold, just below the spark plugs. You have to remove the wire first, then use the same type of socket you'd use to remove a spark plug.

I would HIGHLY recommend you get a manual (Haynes, Chilton, etc.) with a diagram, I don't think you could do it (read: You wouldn't WANT to try to do it) properly by a written description alone. Like all timing, of course, it has to be *exactly* right, you can't be out a notch or two or your car will run terrible (if it runs at all) and you'll be pulling the belt and retiming it all again.

The top (cam)gear has dot on one the teeth on the front of the gear which is aligned with a "v" notch on the rear part of the timing belt cover. The lower gear on the crankshaft should also have mark on one of the teeth that aligns with a mark on the rear cover or you could install the crank pulley and use the timing pointer as a reference. It will be necessary to buy a new o-ring for the water pump(or preferably a new pump) as this is used to adjust the tension applied to the timing belt. You should adjust the tension on the belt until the spring loaded tensioner just reaches full compression then rotate the engine 2 full revolutions by hand and verify that the marks are still in alignment. - Clyde

Depending on the age of the vehicle, one of the engine control devices might have ceased to function properly. Go to a car parts store and see if they will run a code check on your vehicle. There are some who will do that for you at no charge. But then, buy your parts from them. And find somebody who knows about cars, and have them install the new part(s)if you ar not able to. Change your ignotion switch in your steering column just under your key core.

The 2.0l VIN K is a free spinning or non interferience engine.

on the right hand side of the steering column by the column support bracket. It is tucked in behind and you need to feel for the round device.

1.Disconnect negative battery cable. 2. Climb underneath and locate the starter. 3. Disconnect cables and wires on starter. 4. Remove bolts holding starter in place. 5. Remove starter. Installaton is REVERSE of removal

The only hard part is that you've got to get a big crescent wrench or pipe wrench onto the square extrusion on the belt tensioner and relieve the pressure so that you can slip the belt off (and back onto) the alternator. Once you've done that (the tensioner is one of the small pulleys on the side of the engine that the belt is wrapped around - it's very firm but WILL move with enough pressure; WATCH your knuckles!!! If you slip it can hurt like heck!)it's a simple matter of pulling the wiring plug off and undoing the bolts that hold the alternator.

There should be a belt/pulley diagram sticker on the radiator support near the front of the car that will show you the belt routing, make sure that the belt goes back on the right way around the proper pulleys! It can take a minute to make sure you've got it wound round everything the right way (and again, watch your knuckles with that tensioner!) Good luck!

you must remove the 4 torx bolts from the axle mount and remove axle to give enough clearance to remove brake wheel cylinder

Most wheel cylenders have two bolts that come through the back of mounting plate but you also need to remove the metal brake line first it is best to use brake line end wrenches,"I bought mine at sears 'craftman' they look like a six point boxed end with just a little piece of the center cut out" to do this so you don't round off the break line nut and even then be careful or you will end up having to replace the brake line. If it gives you a hard time, make sure your brake line wench is on the nut properly and tap the wrench wit a small hammer also be carefull not to break off the bleader valve on top of the wheel cylinders back its just about dead center between the two mounting bolts. p.s. if your sunbird is a front wheel drive and a 2.0 have fun getting to the starter or any of the hoses at the back of the water pump it was a 2 day job on my wifes 94 sunbird

Try auto parts giant on the web and or you could always get one bent. Is it the first pipe off the turbo you are looking for?

FOUND IT! alrite underneath the steering wheel there is something called the "diagnostic imaging" and up and to the right of that will be a silver box with two plugs coming off of it, that is the flasher. To do so you must first take off the pannel to find the diagnostic imaging. .

I'd say its a short in the actual circuit board of the whole unit...so i reckon just pick up a second hand one from somewhere with similar miles on it or you can take the dash apart and check all your connections at the back of the unit and see if they are loose or have become un-plugged

I was told that this might be the EGR Valve either is clogged or going bad.
