How long does it take to replace a heater core in a 1989 Pontiac Sunbird?

Depending on your mechanical experience,I would estimate that you should be prepared for a 2-3hr task.I recently removed one from a parts car,all total I believe it took me approx.1 1/2 hrs, mind you I had'nt done one in a Sunbird before. It requires removal of the bottom dashboard enclosures, the core is located approx. in the middle of the underside of the dash behind a plastic box that will need to have the cover removed as well, then there are 2 retaining bands with 2 screws ea. holding the core in its place. From under the car(front raised and on jackstands) you can easily access the two hose hookups that run from core to engine, these will no doubt be sealed on quite tight,be prepared by having replacement hoses ready,as you wont always get a clean removal without cutting. Syraight forward task, just alot of agilty required by the one doing the task as there is limited work space, and need to be a contortionist at times.Overall, its a job that the average backyard mechanic can perform with a little patiencce,GoodLuck

There's a turn signal or running light out on that side, either front or rear. Turn on signal, get out and look. If both turn signals are working, chances are its the running light.

Where is turn signal flasher located in a 1993 Pontiac Sunbird?

In my 94 it is on the right hand side of the steering column by the column support bracket. It is tucked in behind and you need to feel for the round device. It can pretty hard to find.

Where is the crank position sensor on Pontiac sunbird?

I think, and I THINK it is under the plastic cover on the left side of the engine, at least it is with a 2.0 4 cylender motor. You have to remove the belt covor than the belt, than the sensor should be visible. I say this because i read it in a Pontiac manual, that plus there are wires running in to the covor. Hope it helps

How do you fix a seatbelt that has been pulled out all of the way and will not go back in on a 1994 Pontiac Sunbird?

Take the interior cover off, look on the side of the seatbelt (where it rolls into) See a small hole? Stick a tiny tiny screw driver or hanger in the hole and it should release. Basically resetting it!

Where are the spark plugs in a Pontiac sunbird?

Open the Hood and support it with the support rod.

The Spark Plugs are located directly in front of you on the front (*or left side*) of the engine just below the Cam cover and above the Exhaust Manifold.

*Front wheel drive vehicles usually have the Engine turned to the right, therefore the Front of the Engine faces the Passenger side Fender.

The Spark Plugs are numbered as 1, 2, 3, 4 from YOUR left to YOUR right when facing the Engine from the front of the Vehicle.

The Timing is usually 1-3-2-4.

What might cause a popping sound from the right front of your car?

Various possibilities, may be a loose caliper or pad. Maybe in the suspension. Ball joints, Radius arm bushings, control arm bushings Mine is doing the same thing. If it is a manual shift, try putting the e-brake on, put it in reverse, and ease the clutch out. If you hear the popping it is probably a control arm, wheel bearing, or cv axle.

How do you replace the thermostat on a 1994 Pontiac sunbird 2.0l?

Answer

I have a 93 sunbird. The thermostat is located right under the radiator cap. Wait for the car to cool down. remove the radiator cap. you will see an aluminum bar pull the bar out and that is your thermostat. top off the coolant before installing the new thermostat. put the new thermostat in. push on it a little bit to make sure you get a good seal and then replace the radiator cap. That is all there is to it. the thermostat on these cars is really easy to change and i have done it several times.
