How do you troubleshoot static on 1995 Tahoe AM radio?
I'm having the same problem myself, AM static induced by engine. That means it increases in frequency as the engine speed increases. I unplugged the alternator - no change. Seems ignition is the source. Spark plug wires can cause this also, in my case they look new, yet cheap aftermarket could still be the cause. Bad engine grounds may also be the cause. Some folks have mentioned running a ground wire to the hood, as this is part of the ground plane. I haven't taken the time to chase it down further, but you should know that there's a TSB on this problem. Certain earlier production vehicles made only at certain plants had an issue with a residue left on the antennae and intermediate cable. The fix is to replace them. Check out TSB's on All Data.

Will the Monsoon radio from a 2004 Grand Prix fit in a 2000 Trans Am that has a Monsoon radio in it?
with the proper instillation and dash kit...yes, but you also may need to check and see that the wire harness will fit on each and make sure that they are interchangable.-Shocker
On your radio your preset stations each have a number 1,2,3,4,5,etc. The first preset station represents the first number in your code. if your code is 8642 then you would: press #1 preset 9 times. press #2 preset 7 times. press #3 preset 5 times. press #4 preset 3 times. (The first press is a 0)
After you enter YOUR code (not this code) then press the CD button.
Check to see if you have a loose wire hangin out behind the radio... Typically this is caused by the dimmer wire for the dash lights.. you also may have hooked that wire to the wrong wire on your radio harness.. Good luck I would say its a fuse, or you crossed a wire, and your bulb burnt out. Hopfully, its the first one!
I just had the same thing happen with my Nissan. Your car died because your battery is bad. The clicking sound is also because your battery is bad most likely. It could be your starter, but always start with the cheap and easy fixes before moving on. If it's not you battery it is either you starter or your ignition.

How do I fix static in the radio on 96 miata?
Could be a wire crossing in the speakers, the radio itself might be bad. Does it do it all the time? Speakers might be blown. Or, your antenna lead is not plugged into the rear of the radio. Is it radio static, or does it have static on cd/tape as well?
The answer is that i actually had blown a fuse in the dash fuse box. There is a fuse that has a retainer clip on it to ensure that it does not come out. It also controls the air bags and anti-lock brake system, that is why it is cover with a retaining clipto ensure that it does come out unwillingly. I replaced the fuse and was good to go.
Interior light stays on and radio stays on after exiting car?
owners manual fuse box interior lamps pull it then figure it out no sense in a dead battery
anti theft system is bad
My radio on my 2003 Envoy XL is on but no sound?
Speaker fuse or a bad wire.
The actual problem is a faulty factory amplifier. We had the same problem, at first we would just turn the radio off for a short period of time and usually this would work. I have since replace the factory amp. and no longer have the problem. The factory amp is located in the cargo area on the passenger side. You will have the remove the side panel on the right side, and to do this the seat belt hold down will have to be removed. Good luck
Why do mountains interfere with FM radio reception?
FM radio works like light. If a shadow is made (something in the way) , you get less light. Radio waves work in a straight line. If something is in the way, less radio waves. The rule is broken here if you use Am radio waves. Low clouds can make the waves bounce between the clouds and the ground and can travel as far as 1000 miles or further. So the answer is yes.
How can you listen to drive in theatre through car radio with engine off?

How do you set the time on a 2000 323i the clock is where the radio is not near the speedometer?
I own a 2000 BMW 323i and the clock is also located in between the speedometer and the rpm gauge. You need to hit the button in the end of the turn signal handle several times to get it to the time, then you need to turn the knob in the middle of the gauges to change the time.
There is a good chance that it is a anti-theft model. If it is, you will need the code to use the system.
It needs the code. Call, your dealer. That has nothing to do with it. Got to a ford or mercury dealer and they will tell you they no nothing about it.
It is the fleet installed cell phone that is causing the problem. Turn the car on, turn the cell phone on, wait a minute, the turn cell phone off. Radio will the work.
If you do not still have the cell phone handset, get and hook it up. then do as above says. I had the same problem, and solved the problem by turning cell phone on and the turning it off again.
Can you connect an mp3 player to a CD-radio-tape player if there is only a headphone jack?
Yes you can. You need to get a cassette tape adapter (many places sell these like Target, Bestbuy, Circuit City,....etc). You plug it into the mp3 player where the headphone would go and place the cassette where it is supposed to go. Turn on the radio and mp3 player and your ready to go.

Why would a fuse blow in a 12 volt negative ground radio?
The fuse would most likely blow as a result of current flowing through it in excess
of the current that the fuse is rated for.
In general, there are two things that could cause this: Most likely, either the fuse
installed was rated for less current than the radio uses in normal operation, or
else a fault in the radio caused more current than usual to flow through the fuse.
