If it is xm ready radio, then all you have to do is pay the monthly fee. You already have an xm radio and need nothing. Read you owner's manual. If you buy the xm radio from the dealer it will cost about $750.00 It is prewired for the 12 volt system of the Honda. The roady 2 radio you buy at wall-mart or elsewhere is set up with a 6 volt system. I bought my roady 2 at fry,s and fry,s instlled it for around $80.00. did a very nice job on installing it. The antenna was installed outside like roady suggested and hard wired the radio to the frount lighter using the 6 volt adaptor that the roady came with and wired it to the 12 volt system. Roady 2 has a sell right now, that if you buy one Roady 2 one can send off for a second one free.
Antenna connection if it has power but will not pick up a station. If no power, then it may have an in-line fuse that is blown. You going to have to remove the radio and look see. The radio may just be defective.
My 95 Mystique starting acting funny. First the stereo would randomly turn on and off by itself. Then the transmission would shift gears suddenly. I did a little diagnostic work, and traced it to bare wires in the fuse box located to the right of the battery. There are a billion wires in there, and they are all bent at really sharp angles. The insulation broke off at the sharp bend on about a dozen of them. I'm currently working on repairing this - it is a serious pain. I hope that fixes my problem, and I hope it isn't yours. Good luck.
How do you reset the clock in a 1996 Miata radio It is the original miata branded radio?
Hold the 'clock' button until it starts to blink, adjust the time and poke the 'clock' button to accept the time.
Loose power wire . You might want to check the output on the voltage regulator. Sometimes the voltage will be too high and the radio will protect itself from the voltage by turning itself off, only to turn itself back on when the voltage returns to normal.
How do you remove the stock radio in 1994 Pontiac Grand Am?
take it to a place where they do radios. im getting a new head unit with built in bluetooth gonna cost me about 250 without install dont go to best buy.
Or if your poor like me, lol, it is not hard just takes time because you have to remove the whole dashboard cover.
1 Open your fuse cover on your driver side, and pull the whole panel out and remove the screw that connects the dash.
2 Remove the panel on the opposite side, and remove screw there.
3 Remove the screw an the bottom of your defroster vent cover and remove that two expose two more and remove those as well.
4 Open your glove compartment and remove two screws from where the dash meets the compartment.
5 Still in your glove compartment there are two screws on the upper left hand side in a recess (they were brass colored on my two cars)
6 After all the screws are removed the dash cover should come out rather easily. Pull slightly back on the cover to release it from between the window and the dash. be gentle and don't force it though, if it doesn't want to come look for a hidden screw, you dont want to break the cover (there are two or three pins that are used to align the cover over the gauges, gentle rock the cover to slide these out.)
7 There are a few screws in the display cover, (the thing around the gauges and stereo) remove those and gently rock it out of place.
8 now the three mounting screws holding the stock stereo are visible remove them and disconnect the wires and its out.
Is there a universal code to unlock the radio in a 1999 alero?
i don't think there is, unfortunately. you can go to the dealer and pay for them to unlock it but they charge you for it. instead, i guessed at the code. it is two digits and they range from like 1-19 for each digit. go in order until you get it, ex. 1-1, 1-2,1-3, etc. it took me two tries.
What color wires need to be spliced to connect projector headlamp in 2000 eclipse?
I connect my wires to the fog lights connection, that way I had control from inside the car to turn them on or off.
A lot of car radios have a seek or scan button which you use to find a good station. When you've found a good station, you hit the scan button again, or another button, to stop the scanning. If you can't stop it from scanning, or it scans on its own, then you have a problem with the radio.
As brake pads wear out, it takes more fluid thus more pedal travel to get them to make contact with the brake drums or rotors. It could also be a problem with low brake fluid, self adjusters not working on drum brakes, master cylinder cups worn, and air in the system. Repair it asap - as you have no room to spare.
How do you enter the radio code for an Eagle Talon?
i believe the preset buttons (where you save your stations) represent the numbers in your code, provided you have the code. if not, you have to contact a dealer and prove you own the car. in some cases (well most), you'll have to pull the radio and give them the serial number off of it for them to provide a code. then you only have 3 tries i believe, after that it will lock out for a longer period of time.
What fuse disconnects radio antenna motor?
I can confirm that the 1993 Caprice Classic also uses Fuse 1 for this, which is painful because now that the power antennas are failing in the - let me keep trying to lower the antenna for the next week while I'm parked in the garage - mode, and you can't get through the wheelwell to get at the motor or under the dash to locate a wire, you need to disable the interior lighting and the power locks. By the way, the fuse box is on the left side of the dash and can only be seen with the drivers door open. The fuse number for your power antenna will depend on what year your Caprice is. For example , on a 1991 Caprice fuse number 1 is used for the power antenna relay as well as other items such as the dome light, underhood light, power door locks, power mirrors etc.
What is the radio access code for a 1990 Lincoln Mark 7?
TO OUR KNOWLEDGE NONE EXISTS.........BUT, YOU MAY WANT TO CHECK YOUR OWNERS MANUAL...
When the battery is removed, all power to the car is lost and the radio resets itself. Usually it prompts for a code, when the power is reconnected. This should be supplied with purchase of new vehicle, but not necessairly and can be a problem when purchasing second hand vehicles as the original buyer doesn't always provide it with docs. Problem is that to get the code reset if you don't have it, more often then not involves a fee of some kind by the Manufacturer/Dealer.
Try disconnecting the negative battery cable for a moment or two to reset the radio. If it still does it after reconnecting, you probably need to have it fixed or replaced.
If you put a key in the lock and unlock it while the alarm is going off after jump-starting the car, the alarm will stop.
you have accidentally reset it! Look for your manual, and proceed to reset it with correct time. If you dont have a manual try pushing set with radio off and use tune, scan or whatever makes minutes or hours go. We have one truck that is really hard to rmember how to reset, I let the kids figure it out while we have to wait for a train. you have accidentally reset it! If there is one available for this car model, buy a connection harness. ( Autozone has them, maybe checker auto would have them also. I don't know if pepboys have it.) They are a great help. They plug onto the cars connection plug and the wires are marked on the harness. HINT: On factory speakers, the positive wire is almost always the wire closest to the clip on the wire connectors.
What is the radio amplifier fuses actual function in the 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe?
If the radio fails and a component shorts out, the fuse is supposed to prevent the vehicle wiring from catching fire and burning up the vehicle.
Your 2003 trailblazer won't start. The radio turns on and lights turn on.?
Check the battery. Seems odd but give it a jump and it should start.
The steering wheel controls are probably bad The only fuse is the radio fuse and if the radio works the fuse is OK Also if you do not have the original stereo, and your new stereo does not have a place to plug in those controls they will not work.
I have a '95 Suburban and thought I had fried my aftermarket radio's internal amp, however after buying a new radio I still had the same problem. I then reinstalled the factory radio and the front and rear doors starting working again. A couple days later the rear doors starting working also. I then reinstalled my aftermarket radio and everything worked fine for a few weeks until one day I heard a pop and a fizz before all the stock speakers went out. Replaced the factory radio again until all the speakers worked, then installed the aftermarket. This time it only lasted a few days. Now only the fronts will play with the factory radio and none of the factory speakers function with the aftermarket.
The problem is with the suburban's factory amps. My research has only came up with one amp for the 95 and prior suburbans and later models having two amps. Just like any other audio component, they go bad over time.
It was too frustrating having to carry my factory radio just in case the factory amp fizzes out. I'm fed up and a factory replacement is nearly as much as an aftermarket. Therefore I am currently in the process of rewiring all of my speakers directly to an aftermarket multi-channel amp. Guess I'll upgrade the speakers while I'm in the process. Fix the problem for good and not have to worry anymore.
Don't hold me to it, but sounds like an electrical problem like the alternater. (Battery sould have been replaced by now). Need more info.
What are the color codes for the stock radio in a 1999 Hyundai Sonata?
putting in aftermarket radio and need color codes for 1998 Hyundai Sonata GL L4-2.oL
the answer is YES, use a test light to find the + and - wires (should be one ground wire and two hot wires [one hot all the time for your clock & one hot only when the key is on]) in order to find which speaker is which, use a 1.5 volt battery to make a popping sound in the speaker (won't hurt the speaker) and then the solid color wire will be your positive & the wire with the stripe will be your speaker ground.
Remove the cables going to the battery, clean the posts and the cable ends, replace. This might help.
