1992 Chevy Corsica starts fine But If you try to put the gear from park into reverse or neutral it stays in drive you cannot go into reverse What is the problem and how can you fix it the ceapest?

sounds like a transmission replacement is needed. you could always buy it from a scrap yard or online, but you most likely wont get a warranty and it may not even work once it is installed. the best route would be to just buy a new transmission, and if you have the know how, install it yourself.

Do you have any come back if you bought a BMW from a dealer and an engine light came on a week after buying the car the engine went in the car last week and the warrenty was out by a day?

I would give the selling dealer the opportunity to repair the vehicle before doing anything else. They just might do it under warranty. Does no hurt to ask.

What damage is done when a manual car stalls?

When the car stalls out, depending on speeds, you can strip part of your transmission. (Basically break the tranny). Most stalls are stripping and what not when it comes to stalling, also I'm pretty sure you can short out some of the systems inside the vehicle.

Is it illegal to hide a truck from the repo man in Georgia?

Yes - the truck payments are not being made in accordance to a written, and signed by you, agreement, therefore the contract has been breached. Until the entire debt was ever paid, the truck still belonged to the finance company - you were only the registered owner, not the legal owner - there IS a difference ... a big difference.

What is the legal age to own a car in California?

Minors can't legally enter into contracts in their own right, so it would be difficult for a child under the age of 18 to buy a car. That doesn't stop them from being given one as a gift, though. If parents want to buy their newborn child a car, there's nothing legally stopping them from doing so, even though the child won't be able to drive it for 15 years or so (and then only under very limited conditions).

What are the disadvantages of owning a car?

Main thing, it's a big money pit. You have to maintain it, and changing the oil and filling it up with gas is not even the start of the list. Costs money for insurance, even if your car isn't worth more than $500 you will pay a lot more than what it's worth through just liability. There are really a lot to list, but the fact that a car gives you freedom to get anywhere you want, the way you want is worth all of that, depending on the car, it will get you noticed, something a lot of people want, attention.

Answer

The biggest disadvantage is the insurance, but it's needed for protection of you and other people on the road. The cost of ownership is not a disadvantage, everything in this world has an upkeep cost, cars are no different. As long as you follow a service schedule (from dealer or driverside.com) you should be ok.

In my opinion it's probably having people ask you for rides! Nothing is worse than someone asking you to be their personal driver, even worse if they don't offer to help out on gas.

Answer

If you want to multiply your disadvantages, buy something practical like a pickup or van. Everyone and their brother will try to put you on the hook to help them move. It is a good way to get free beer, though.

Can you return a new car if you can't afford the payment?

No. Once you sign the papers, you are the owner.

You're not the owner until you make the last payment. You were just the buyer and the person who gets to drive around in it as long as you make the payments or you finish buying the car in full.

What car has the best engine?

Corvette: Newer models, ls1, ls2, and ls3.

Camaro: Newer models, same engines for both SS

Again a question of best. Best at what? Horsepower, torque, mileage, dependability, what. I agree with the above answer when it comes to pure power for your buck. Hard to beat the small block Chevy. But when it comes to dependability and an engine that has good power and delivers great mileage then there are lots of great engines out there. It would be hard to name the best.

When do you use first and second gear in a car?

When you need power not speed like up a steep hill or if you are my dad drive all around town in 2nd gear

A car needs to put out the maximum force on the ground (through the wheels of course) when it is started from standstill. The 1st gear (its ratio) is such that maximum force can be transferred to the wheels for a given RPM to attain initial acceleration. At higher gears, since the car is already moving, less power needs to be transferred. To summarise the purpose of each gear, 1st gear - max power to the wheels, high aceleration but lowest max speed (0 - 10 or 15 kmph)

2nd gear - intermediate gear once the vehicle has moved (accelerate upto 20kmph without excessive revving and upto 30kmph with a little more throttle). 3rd gear - for cruising upto about 40kmph (can also be used when maximum acceleration is needed above 30kmph though the engine will have to be revved quite high for this) - can easily reach 50-60kmph with engine revved up high though this is not a good thing to do (wastes fuel and the engine is running closer to its max rev limit).

4th gear - upto 45-50kmph cruising. 5th and higher - more than 50kmph cruising.

If you buy a motorcycle with no title can you get a title for it?

I believe one can go to your local DMV office and apply for a lost title. You will need to have your normal information, proof of purchase, insurance, license that sort of thing. It should take about 6 weeks after you have applied to receive it.

beware if the vehicle has a lien on it. you will need a lien release letter from the bank.. If the original owner didnt pay off the debt the bank wont grant you a letter and you will be stuck with a worthless vehicle that cant be titled or registered
