It is located on the back side of the block (firewall) almost directly in the center, under the intake manifold. You will need to remove the electrical connector and retaining bolt. Then "lift" it out. Good Luck.

How do you replace the exhaust gas recirculation control circuit on a 2002 Saturn SL1?

You don't. It's integrated into the PCM. Check the EGR valve itself - remove it and check if the plunger sticks. If you can get it to stick, that's your problem. Also, check the wiring harness. If nothing is visibly bad, bolt the valve back on and take the car to your local shop.

That happened to my grandma. Her problem was that she had a twig stuck in her engine. Try checking your engine for faulties.

Why you need to add refrigerant oil to the compressor?

The oil is there for one purpose ,thats to lubricate the compressor ,but it also traveles with the refrigerant through the system and when you have a leak it will be forced out the place where you have the leak ,thus after awhile you will lose some oil ,generaly the leak will be around the seal in the compressor.

Where is the Shift solenoid located on a 2002 Saturn SL1?

The solenoids are located in the upper housing of the transmission. to get to it, you will need to remove the air intake tube, along with air filter box. use a 10mm socket on the holding bolts. Becarefull of the wire connector for the "ambient air temp" sensor. Remove the battery hold down bracket, also 10mm, along with the battery (8mm). Remove the two 13mm bolts in the lower battery tray, and the 13mm bolt that is through the driver side wheel well into the lower part of the tray. Remove the engine computer from the tray (10mm) and set aside. Remove the battery tray completely to reveal the upper transmission housing. Remove the square wire connector (7mm) on the top of the transmission. Remove the outer cover bolts (8mm i belive) pry the cover off to reveal the valve body. Remove the 13 bolts in the valve body (fig1) and remove top cover of the valve body. with all the bolts removed you should beable to take the top cover off to reveal the black plastic circuit board in which the transmisison wireing harness plugs into. (fig 2) remove the board carefully and you will have access to the solenoids. The solenoids are labled for you in Fig 3.

The shift solenoids should OHM out at 4.5 Ohms, GM has made some changes according to Technical service bullitens. see Fig 4

When reassembling the valve body. be sure to tighten the cover bolts over the solenoids to 11nm or 8ft/lbs. any more and the solenoids can bind. If you replace the pressure solenoid, or are attempting to, you will need to reset the transmission solenoids with the Saturn Service Stall System.... of course only available if you take the car into the dealer ship.

How do you reset the change oil soon on a 2000 Saturn Ls1?

I haven't worked on the LS1, but the LS2 has a fuse/relay panel next to the battery. I assume that they're similar.

Remove the fuse/relay panel cover and you'll see a button labeled "oil".

Turn the key on, but do not start the engine.

Press and hold the oil button for between 5 and 10 seconds. You'll hear the dashboard chime that indicates that the reminder has been reset.
