How do you remove a battery from a 2004 Saturn vue?
It is a side mount battery. Shut off everything in vehicle. Use a Phillips head to remove the three screws that hold down the battery cover. (Front driver side) Use a wrench to remove bolts on the battery cable. Positive side first. When those are out you will need a socket with a 10" extender arm to remove the bolt that clamps the battery in place. it is on the bottom side of the battery on the inside side. You can reach it from the top with the extender. If I can do it anyone can do it. Sorry I do not remember the size socket and wrench.

Sometimes I wonder from what i read as questions, is a joke or what? But to answer this question, You have 6 plug wires. and a box they hook into. Best way for you to do it is to find theses wires and see where they run to. All plug wires and spark plugs conect to the engine head. The other end of the plug wires plug into the distributor. The heads are retangular shaped and long. and have a smooth cover called valve covers. Usually where you put oil in is the valve cover which underneath is the head. Hope that helps out some. This is a outstanding question!!! The plugs or wires are not visible from the top or sides of the moter. You just can't see em'!!! You have to remove the large black plastic air intake. Then remove the intake manafold(not too hard to do) to access the spark plugs and wires. Good luck!!! Interesting?? I had my starter and battery replaced on my 2002 Saturn VUE and within a few months my low beams ands daytime running lights went out. Dealer says the post in the fuse block is burnt and the entire block needs to be replaced at a cost of over $600.

Two sets of bolts - small (pan itself), large (4ea, pan to tranaxle housing.
Pan bolts (small) are two lengths. The longer are across the rear. Two stage torque sequence, working center out in a crisscross pattern. Tighten all pan bolts first (first stage), then tighten again to final spec (second stage). NOTE THAT THESE ARE IN INCH-POUNDS, NOT FT-LBS
First stage - 57in-lbs
Second stage - 106in-lbs
Pan to transaxle - 4ea. Two at center, one each outer sides. Tighten center bolts first, then outer.

No you can not Lubricate the front wheel bearings, They are factory SEALED bearings.
Must REPLACE the bearings with new ones.
IF the bearing is noisy then the balls inside are damaged. Lubrication will do nothing to help. Replace only

The question was to address lubricating the bearings through the port for the anti-lock sensor before any damage occurs - do you wait to add oil to the engine until the bearings start to grind? I repaired office equipment fore 30 years and understand the need for proper maintenance. At $500.00 per bearing and the fact they are a problem - made in China- a little 90 weight oil added before there is a problem seems logical? I took the old bearing and added oil and after working it a while it improved - still dammaged thought!

If you "lubricated and worked it a while and it improved" then how was there not a problem as you stated. Maybe I do work for the Chinese......maybe your an idiot. 2003 Saturn vue 4 cylinder O2 Sensors: The oxygen sensor that is refered to as bank 1 sensor 1 is located on the drivers side of the exhaust manifold, you can see it if you look directly down from above the rear of the motor... looks like a spark plug with wires coming out of it... lol.
If you cannot use a wrench (usually 19mm). You need a special 02 sensor socket (parts store <-$20 ) to remove it. You might hav trouble seeing it at first because it's pointing towards drivers side, on the side. It is not where they usually are. Be sure to use a speck of anti-seize on the threads only. Do NOT TOUCH the part that faces in.
The oxygen sensor that is bank 1 - sensor 2 is located right after the converter. It is easy to find and replace. use 19mm wrench or sensor socket...

Also: After removing all the black plastic air intake stuff, you'll have to remove the coil pack (long black plastic thing that says "Ecotek" on top). The coil pack is removed by disconnecting the wire connector on the driver's side end and then removing four bolts. To lift off the coil pack, you'll have to pull upwards firmly and evenly from both sides, because the spark plug boots or wires are holding onto the spark plugs as well as the coil. With the coil pack removed, look down into the silver channels - there's the plugs. To remove, you'll need a plug socket head and a socket wrench with long extension. To replace the plugs, I use an extra or old spark plug boot to hold the plug and get it started turning into the engine threads.
