The fuel filter is bolted to the engine block under the passenger side exhaust manifold. The engine must be cool to change the fuel filter. Some are mounted to the frame just over the passenger side rear tire. it slides into a C-shaped clamp with 2 fuel lines attached to the top of the filter: one inlet and one outlet

the cross member your tranny is sitting on has two long bolts called torshion bars you can lossen them to drop your front end and on the rear you can buy these 2-3 inch blocks that you can put between your axle and leaf springs

If the bolt holes line up and the shape is somewhat near the same, and all the fuses and wiring line up it shouldn't be a problem

You can find some vacuum diagrams in the Haynes repair manual. This can be found at any parts store.

Once you have the driveshaft off and the crossmember out the engine-tranmission assembly will pivot enough in the motor mounts to let you get at them.

I have a 93 2.4 and the fuel pump is located in the top of the tank. I picked up a new pump on E-bay for under $20.00 for the easiest access you can either drop the tank or take the bed off. I chose the latter as my yota has almost a 1/4 million miles on it and I wanted to give it a good inspection and re-undercoat the bed.

There are 160 stone in a ton (2240 lb) so 6000 lb is about 2 and 2/3 of a tons (2.678).

I seem to be having the same problem as you perhaps. I have disconnected the old starter, bu I am having problems getting it out since there are so many hoses and lines in the way. I am going to try and remove the coolant lines beneath the starter to make room for the removal and then reattach. What a pain. That was it! The aluminum lines running from the radiator to the transmission were in the way. I removed the front skid guard to make it easier to remove front coupling and all of the mounts in between. Be careful, because transmission fluid will leak from the back housing. Otherwise, it was smooth running once the area was cleared. I hope this helps if you haven't already done the same.

i would recomend disconnecting the battery and or pulling the airbag fuse for this. disconnect the steering shaft from the box and turn it so the wheel is centered. then put the shaft back on the box.

take it to a shop unless you have 3 days, 3 guys, a widebase floor jack, swivel sockets (1/2") and a 1 foot extension. undo the tranny bellhousing bolts (10-14mm)

I guess some people just have nothing better to do but make asses out of themselves anonymously. The engine MAY fit but probably not without a lot of modification. You would be better off trying to locate the same engine as the original from a Salvage Yard.

you would need to change the motor, trans, tcase and wiring harness with computer. as well as exhaust and everything else. if you want a 3.0 truck sell yours and buy one with a 3.0.

Assuming you are in the US it would very rare because Toyota did not produce a code 2L-T turbo diesel after the 1986 model year for the US market. As a matter of fact they only produced the diesels engine for these trucks for 2 years Which were 1986-1988.

The blower motor itself is the most likely cause. It is located under the dash on the passenger side. The plug is usually white with a black and a blue wire. Remove the plug and run a test light between the 2 terminals, turn the key to "on"(engine not running) with the blower switch on in any position the light should turn on. If it does the blower is bad and can be replaced by taking out the 3 screws that hold it in. if the light does not light, the wires and fuse need to be checked. The fuse is labeled "heater" and is under the dash on the drivers side. If the blower works on high speed but does not work on one or more of the lower speeds-- the blower motor is OK. The problem lies in the resistor block, usually found attached to the air duct slightly downstream from the blower motor. Look for a 3 to 5 wire plug-in attached to the air duct. Remove the electrical plug carefully, then remove the 1 or 2 screws attaching the small flat plastic to the air duct. Gently remove the part-- if it has little coils of wire on it, you found the resistor. Treat it very carefully as the wires are brittle. Presuming you look at the coils (and see 1 or 2 with breaks in them) go get a replacement from a junkyard (cheap but used parts), auto parts store, or Toyota dealer. The Toyota dealer part will fit like a glove-- but take your heart medication before they tell you the price.

look on your door tag...where it has tire size,pressure & the like. It should have a GVWR on it.... like my 2000 2500 light duty has a GVWR of 8600 pounds,i went through a scale & with me & a full tank of fuel it was 5500 pounds. So i can haul 3100 pounds of load. now the more you add to the truck,like bull bar,bed tool box & the like you will have to compensate for that as well. make sure you have tire that will handle the load too. Just cause they fit on the rim doesn't mean they will hold all the weight. If it has a P in front of the tire size then it won't hold much as it's a passenger tire. i have 10 ply tires on mine (load range E & has "LT" in front of tire size denoting it's a Light truck tire) & they can carry 3046 pounds per tire single,& duals they drop to 2700 something. Also, generally the bigger the tire is the more weight it can carry. the tires i mentioned above are LT245/75R16's. LT265/75R16's can carry roughly 3400 pounds,& LT285/75R16's can carry roughly 3700 pounds per tire. make sure your air pressure is at the maximum for load carrying (you can find this on the sidewall of the tire). Just above the switches for the air con etc. the middle dash cover opens up to the fuse box.

Easiest way is to connect a single wire from one of your rear taillights "parking light" to the wire on license plate light. It gets its ground from the bumper once installed.
