Under the front seats at the end of the slide track will be a single bolt that goes side to side preventing the seat from sliding back to far. take the cover off this, remove the bolt. remove the plastic trim pieces along the trans hump. then mearly slam the seat backtowards the back seat wich will cause the seat to come free of the tracks. lift out. reverse to install.

You don't! I tried and had pleanty of trouble - also have you noticed the cuts under the chairs already there - these can be usefull to thread wires etc.

Depending if you have HID lamps or not. But to remove the head lamp assembly to be able to change it open the hood, and look towards the headlamp, you'll see a plastic hook shaped handle. Just above the hook there is a push clip, pull down on the handle just a little bit and push the clip in and then lift on the handle. This action turns a retainer cam that locks the head lamp housing in place. It can stick sometimes, assist by wiggling the head lamp while lifting of the handle. Pull out the head lamp assembly, unplug the electrical connector and look at the rear of the assembly.

There are two tabs on your headlight. Pull the straight up and then wiggle the headlight toward the front of the car. You will be able to get to the bulb then, twist a quarter turn and pull out.

On the 2001 Passat, the fuses and relays are located on the driver-side of the dash right where the door touches it. It is behind a plastic panel which can be pulled off to access the fuses. Pull off panel and there is a guide to the fuses (fuse card) and a tool for pulling them out.

There are TWO fuseboxes in the VW Rabbit. The primary box islocated in the engine compartment in a fairly large sized covered case next to the batter box (also covered). Ffrom the front of the vehicle facing the open hood/engine compartment, it is located to the back, right side (toward the driver's seat). The second fusebox controlling primarily interior passenger compartment features is located on the driver's side of the dashboard. Open the driver's door to expose the side of the dashboard and there's a removable panel that snaps out (no tools or special clips...just pull from the notch toward the bottom). Answer #2: Always include the year of your car in your questions! The original, 1975-1984 VW Rabbits have only ONE fuse/relay panel and it's located up under the dash on the driver's side.

There are three screws holding up a plastic cover under the glove compartment. remove those, pull the cover down, remove and replace the white rectangle(the cabin filter) then put it all back together its that simple. :)

Check the check valve located at the inlet of the fuel pump for leaks. It sounds like the fuel accumulator has failed. get under car , remove fuel pukp and accumulator assembly. Remove fuel accumulator, drain unit. Shake unit, if it has fuel inside it has an internal leak and must be replaced. The engine heatsoak causes fuel to boil, the accumulator maintains pressure to prevent this issue.

It is under the dash on the drivers side. You will need to move the drivers seat all the way back to be able to get to it and see the fuses. The type of fuse box depends on if the car was a early or late 1981. Also the North American cars had the later fuse box with the push in fuses. The early and German made cars had the old fashion ceramic with brass over it fuses that sit in a metal plate under a copper top spring loaded contact. Rabbits are known for a leak developing in the lower portion of the left side of the windshield, or in the rain tray under the hood. Both produce a leak that drips directly into the fuse box and corrodes the contacts with massive rust. So if you find rusted contacts, plan on finding the leak and fixing it first, then replace the fuse box. Good luck!

you need a 8mm and a 6mm hex wrench and maybe a 10mm 13mm and 15mm sockets. First release the tension bar from the alternator and then use the 6mm hex on the inside end of the alternator and the 8mm on the other side...spin opposite directions and the alternator should come out.,

I have, and am currently researching this issue. The Chilton's manual (I have a copy) does not reflect correctly the '86 Cabriolet. These were built in the Scirocco facility (years '85 thru '93 I believe). For correct wiring as well as other issues with your '86 VW Cabby purchase the "Volkswagen Cabriolet, Scirocco Service Manual" from Bentley Publishers.com, Stock Number VS93.

i have a 1959 dynamic and mine is in a very inconvenient and somewhat hidden spot underneath where the steering linkage and column, come out of the firewall of the car. pop the hood go to the drivers side and look down below where the stearing column comes out ,and look just underneath it for a square looking metal cap. you may need a flashlight & a funnel with a long tip on it!! lol. hope this helps.
