What type of coolant goes in a 2005 Volkswagen Beetle?

Is it pink or purple? If you don't want to flush the system and it's pink, Volkswagen G12 is used. VW buys their coolant from Pentosin, where it is called Pentofrost SF.

If it's purple, or you don't mind flushing the system, Volkswagen G13 is used. In a Pentosin bottle it is Pentofrost E.

Where do they sell 20v Turbos for a 99 VW Passat?

the last motor you would ever want in a VW is the 1.8T 20 valve. The engine oil capacity is too small for the engine. This causes the engine oil to overheat and turn to sludge. I had a 2000 Passat wagon with this engine and my motor had so much sludge in it the oil pressure light would come on during hard braking or cornering. I was so pissed that I got screwed, sold the car after 2 months of ownership, lost 2500 dollars and to add insult to injury, VW sent me a letter a few months after I sold it offering to REPLACE my engine at a small cost to me. VW knew that they had a bad engine design and why you would want to use a known mistake of theirs is beyond me. Find out if you can use another and better engine like the 2.0T used in the Golf, Jetta, Eos, Gti, Tourag, Beetle, and some Audi's. Even a VR6 engine would be a better choice.

What is EPC in a Sharan?

EPC means Electronic Pedal Control. Volkswagen uses an electronic system, not just a cable running from the gas pedal to the throttle, to control engine speed. It would make implementing cruise control REAL easy, if nothing else. If you have an EPC light on...that's the car's Check Engine light.

1996 vw uses G11 coolant?

Yes. The G11 is a Blue-coloured coolant produced by a company called Pentosin, who produces fluids for several European Car manufactuers like Audi/VW, BMW, and so on.

You can buy it online in a few online outlets.By the time you pay for shipping, and the time until you get it, you could have bought it at a dealer. Vw dealers will stock it.Costs on average about $25-30 (USD)

Most important- Do not ever mix any other coolant with the G11.The results cannot be overstated.

To remove engine from an '84 Vanagon do you need to remove tranny also?

No. Not at all. Leave the transmission bolted up front, only undo the motor mount at the bell housing. When you undo the bolts at the bell housing, you can separate the motor from the transmission and roll it out from the back.

Vw jetta 3 1995 model oil warning light and buzzer on but oil level is fine.?

Hi, your oil might be too thin and because of engine age and wear, it might detect oil level is low. Try a thicker oil. It happened to me on my 1994 1,8 Golf with over 200.000 km. I talked to my mechanic, he changed the oil and the problem never came back. jprueda@gmail.com

Does a golf plus 4yrs old require a cam belt change on 30000 miles on the clock?

Timing belts ( cam belts ) will conform to the shape of the cam and crank pulleys ( and the tensioners ) while sitting around for any length of time. They become brittle over time as any polymer would. When you start a motor that has sat idle for a long time you risk breaking the cam belt. Manufacturers recommend changing the cam belt on most VW's every 80K miles or 4 years, wichever comes first.

Are you able to convert a 1981 Volkswagen truck from a manual to an automatic?

Yes you can . just need to have a donor vehicle that all needed parts can be taken off of . The donor doesn't have to be another Volkswagen pickup, either. Those little trucks are half Rabbit, and the half that's Rabbit is where all the parts you're going to be concerned about in this swap live. So if you buy a rear-ended Rabbit or Jetta, the parts will fit your pickup.

Which diesel engines will fit into a 1981 vw pickup?

Short Answer:

Pretty much any four-cylinder, diesel VW engine intended for the front-wheel drive, transverse-mounted (and some older longitudinal mounted cars like the Audi 4000/80, Dasher/Passat, Vanagon) Golf/Jetta chassis will physically 'fit' within the bay.

...and the explanation:

However, the newer the motor design, the more skills/money one will need to be at actually making everything work correctly, be serviceable/drivable by anyone (possibly excluding or including the owner).

The 1.5l and 1.6l diesel, as well as various other gasoline engines, were the production offerings for the VW Truck in North America.

A turbo variant of the 1.6l motor was produced after '81 for Europe, but the NA market received relatively few of them, and generally not until later (about '85 or so). It's possible to bolt the turbo bits to the earlier motors, the results of which vary.

The 1.9l has been produced in several different configurations. They become progressively more complex, powerful, quieter and less of a direct bolt-in installation. The latest motors requiring more fabrication work and skill with parts swapping/matching.

Why is the heater blowing cold in a vw t4 transporter van?

I had the same problem on my '96 lwb t4 caravelle VR6, I found a 10A blown fuse (whilst looking for windscreen wiper fuse which was also blown as I hadn't freed the wipers from the snow/ice on the screen before activating them) and when replaced the problem was cured. I think the reason why this worked, is that particular fuse supplys the mixer valve that adjusts the heater water temperature and when there is no volts the valve only allows cold water to flow to the heater. As I don't have a circuit diagram, fuse box drawing or handbook I can't say if this fuse performs that function or not all I know is that it solved my problem.

How do you reset the car radio after disconnecting the battery?

Dear Daewoo owner,

You will have to get the code, you may be able to go to a GM dealership or you may find them on the internet. I run into this problem all the time at my shop if you cannot get GM to do it or find a list of codes contact me and I will email you a copy of the code list.

Radio Codes: 4316 2152 4513 4362 1156 2145 3451 6361 5624 5241 3346 1165 3241 4524 5436

I don't know if those codes work or not--

It's only a 4 digit code with 1-6 as your options--so theres not THAT many variations :) Might sound like a lot but I just started at the top... 1111---1112--1113--1114---1115---1116----1121--- etc

Took me about 15 minutes to get up to 4516 which worked for me
