It's probably part of the starter itself. Look to see where the BIG positive wire from the battery goes. I'll bet it goes to a little cylinder that is part of the starter. This little cylinder is the relay and starter solenoid that engages the starter gear into the flexplate as it closes the relay to the starter to turn the engine over. TommyTrouble
the flap is located at the top of the plane
my 1994-Brakes, egr valve, throttle position sensor, cruise control "drops out" sometimes, alternator, battery, exhaust (once the stock stainless system goes, you will have a hard time keeping an exhaust system on the car), fuel pump, serpentine belt, power locks, power antenna, peeling paint, brake lines, master cylinder, front struts and strut bearings, power steering fluid cooler. Oil pan rusted out. Oil spray the underbody to keep the frame and floor strong. Change engine oil, tranny and rad fluid regularly (my car has not had any engine, tranny or cooling system problems so far). Very fast and strong running, with good fuel mileage, for a heavy full size car.
If you are referring to the blower motor, it is located centrally behind the motor on the firewall. There should be 6 bolts holding it in place and there is one wire connection to unclip. You may have to remove the bar that is located over the engine before you can pull out the blower motor. If you are putting in a used blower motor, make sure you have the matching gasket as they can vary. Also, make sure that the fan blades are positioned in the same direction as the original blower's to prevent reverse airflow.
Had the same issue, my mechanic recommended to rebuild trans, did so now no problems.
It holds about 15 gallons.
Um ehem, It actually hold 18 gallons. The 1999 LSS models only hold 19 gallons.
in the intake where the dist. should be on the front of the engine
Very carefully! - with mechanics tools, and you better remember how to put it back together again or take pictures or draw pictures or paint the bolts different colors and their bolt holes the same color. Your local library may have a service manual with more detailed help.
Many reasons all computer controlled
Typically there is a petcock valve on the lower left side of the radiator, unscrew the petcock to drain the radiator. On radiators without a petcock, you would remove the lower hose to drain the system. (Quite messy!)
whats the routing for the serpentine belt for a 1996 Oldsmobile eighty-eight?
Starting at bottome of crank, it wraps around A/C, then up and around alternator, down and around power steering, then up and over tensioner pulley and water pump, then back to crank. You need to remove one of the nuts and studs on the bottom of the motor mount bracket closest to front bumper to install new belt.
my ignition is broke and on the on position how can i bypass the ignition n use a toggle for power and a pushbutton to start
run thik power wire from positive of battery to starter. then wire from starter to distributer. then run wire inside or vehicle to push start and ground it or run back out to battery to neg. put toggle switch some where in the process to kill it.
You're talking about the the marks on the timing gears Right? Because the timing gears have little marks on them. The top gear should have the mark at the 6 o'clock point(down on the bottom), and the smaller lower gear at the 12 o'clock position(up to the top). And these two marks should be lined up with each other.
If this vehicle has a 3.8 liter engine than it should have only one (1) O2 sensor.
Located in the rear exhaust manifold just above the flared connection for the connection of the exhaust pipes.
It cannot be disabled, but can ge bypassed, search the web there is information on how to do this. It is not overly complicated, but lengthy to explain. Look up Passlock bypass
Remove the positive cable from your 1997 Oldsmobile battery. Remove the starter cables from the front of the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
