The polar ice-caps are considered a desert just like the Sahara desert. To answer the question above, there is no such thing as a polar tropical climate region and the desert biome can be found anywhere that matches its definition. More specifically, just a desert can be classified further into categories like polar desert, temperate desert, and tropical desert.
