First of all, where is it leaking? If you can't see it, but smell it, try Bars Leak [brand name]. Secondly, if this has a Northstar in it which it probably does, then go to Cadillac and ask for the tablets that go in the radiator; costs about 15 bucks or you can get 'em at O'Reilly auto parts for about 7 and is made by Bars Leak as well. The short answer to your question, "...how...fix...an antifreeze leak..." is to FIND THE LEAK, and PROPERLY REPAIR OR REPLACE THE COMPONENT CAUSING IT. For a better understanding, I add the following. Answer 1 is correct, but incomplete. As Answer 1 first states, the first thing to do in correcting ANY LEAK OF ANY KIND, is to DETERMINE the PRECISE SOURCE of the leak. I ONLY recommend using a "plugging" agent, like Bars Leak, ONLY as A LAST RESORT for "on the road" emergencies, where it is impossible to get a tow to a shop, and you "have to drive out," AND you can't keep going by stopping and pouring enough water in the radiator to keep the engine from overheating. If you have a leak larger than that, EVEN Bars Leak won't help, and you really need a tow, and a good mechanic! All brands of this type of product use a mixture of "CLOTTING" AGENTS, which find small openings and plug them. On older vehicles, in which corrosion and/or "crud" accumulation has reduced the size of small coolant passages within the engine, radiator, heater core, coolant valves, or other "restricted" areas, these products can not tell the difference between "good" small openings or leaks; so they just plug all small openings up! This could be very bad news for an older, or crudded up, vehicle. Once a leak has been located and confirmed, the ONLY PROPER FIX is to repair or replace the offending component. If the leak is so small that you can't see the "trail," from the leak, caused by evaporation leaving a residue, then it is small enough that you can leave it be for a while, until continued inspections do allow you to see where it is. In the meantime, the amount of coolant loss also will be small, and you can regularly [I suggest daily} check and "top off" the coolant [a 50-50 mixture of anti-freeze and water]. Do NOT use just plain water, as that will progressively lower the concentration of antifreeze, possibly leaving your engine unprotected if freezing weather comes on fast. I apologize for rambling, but hope this will help you, and anyone else with this or a similar problem, to understand the issues involved, and will be helpful in resolution of the problem without doing additional damage to your engine or coolant system.

This same location served until 1956. In 57 and 58 the fish tail tail light was gone, but the cap was still beneath the left tail light. In 1959 the filler location changed to a central location above the bumper which remained until 1960. After this I don't remember, but some time around or prior to 1964 it was moved under the rear tag in the center of the bumper. In fact I think even prior to the "fish tail" the filler was behind the left tail light.

Try wipng the sensor off on the Ignition key. Wipe it Hard as it can get "Cruded up" with everyday handling. If that doesn't work, try disconnecting the battery for at least 30 minutes to let the computer reset. If those don't work you'll have to contact your local Cadillac dealer for options.

Just "Look fer it". It's front side has a pully tied to the serpentine drive belt system and it's back side has alumiumn tubing going to the front air conditioner radiator and another larger tubing going to the firewall area where the AC evaporater is located.

all of these things are good but this is what we did on our 2000 Catera Same Problem the engine would stop after about 20 minutes of driving, we replaced the Crank Shaft sensor and it runs fine now, the reason is the wire coming from the sensor runs along the exhaust pipes when the wire heats up it loses its connectivity and will shut the engine off until the wire cools down about 15 to 20 minutes later then starts back up and runs fine until the wire gets to hot again. If this doesn't fix the problem then the next thing to replace is the Cam Sensor. We didn't need to replace it though, Jim
check for vacuum lines diconnected if there are any going to it. i believe this also has an electric motor to opperate it[could be bad or wires not hooked up]

It's located "inside" the transmission, under the tranny's side-cover. It's labor intensive because you must lower the whole engine/transmission cradle to access it. Side-note: @ the dealer, $1,200 labor & $30 part. Sucks, don't it. If you're mechanically inclined, it can be done, just add part, tools and patience. Oh, and a tech manual.

How do you know if your key is bad 1992 Cadillac?
If the key will turn in the ignition cylinder, the only other fault the key can have is a missing or damaged resistor. The resistor is in the middle of the key and looks like a small black oval. The resistor has one of 16 specific values and is "read" by the Pass-key module. If you have a vehicle with 30K or more on the odometer that won't start, and everything else is good, (battery, starter etc…), the most likely problem is the two little wires that connect the Pass-key module to the ignition cylinder. These wires have to flex each time the cylinder is turned and eventually break at the ignition cylinder. The only reliable repair is to replace the ignition lock cylinder and key. New Ignition lock cylinders do not come with real ignition keys, only a temporary key to identify the cuts. If the cylinder is changed you have to purchase a new key separately to match the old key resistor and then cut to match the new lock cylinder.
