Is it acceptable to mix music and politics?
It all depends on how you view politics and how music affects you.
I personally don't think that politics and music should mix because fans that support a band and the band decides to support someone in politics then the fans most likely wil go along with the band they like and not look through the arguments that the politician is having. they might vote for the wrong person just because they like the band.
A little more...Just to confuse the issue some more, I need to point out that one style of music or at least singing focuses on political issues within the lyrics. "John Brown's Body" comes to mind, as does "Where have all the flowers gone" as examples of this venue. And even more:
A great deal of music contains political and social commentary or review, especially the genre we term as "Folk" music. It is the way we pass information and opinion on, especially in a culture with little or no literacy for the poorer classes. Think of simple nursery rhyme songs, such as "Ring around the rosy", "London Bridge is Falling Down", etc., or from the early part of the last century, the story of the Titanic disaster with the Chorus that went "it was sad when the great ship went down to the bottom of the - Husbands and wives, little children lost their lives. It was sad when the great ship went down." It describes how the poor in the lower decks were trapped and suggests that it was because they were poor that they died.
Most of our patriotic songs contain a lot of political material. Read the lyrics of "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" that came from Ireland before they got "cleaned up" here in America. Instead of a rousing marching song, it was a protest song with verses that ended "Johnny we hardly knew ye". Even the Star Spangled Banner contains some pretty inflammatory words regarding England - which is probably outdated by now, but there it is, bearing testament to the sentiments of the times.
While it's true that some people use their fame to promote their political views, it is also true that this causes people who agree and disagree to respond to the music and discuss it. It is sad that some people are political sheep and will follow their "idols" to the polls, and I hate to see them being taken advantage of, but it is our responsibility as citizens to think for ourselves.
The frontispiece of Thomas Hobbes' Leviathan, depicting the Sovereign as a massive body wielding a sword and crozier and composed of many individual people.
Sovereignty is the quality of having supreme, independent authority over a geographic area, such as a territory.[1] It can be found in a power to rule and make law that rests on a political fact for which no purely legal explanation can be provided. In theoretical terms, the idea of "sovereignty", historically, from Socrates to Hobbes, has always necessitated a moral imperative on the entity exercising it.

What is a religious affiliated government called?
A country that does not have what American's call "separation of church and state" is a THEOCRACY. In a theocracy, there is no secular government, and religion is part of every aspect of life. For example, a theocracy has one established religion and citizens are expected to belong to it, observe its holy days, follow its dress codes and dietary laws, etc. The legal system in a theocracy is usually run by the clergy, using their religion's scriptures for guidance. Some theocracies allow minority faiths, but do not give them the same rights, while other theocracies forbid the observance of minority religions entirely, and may even punish non-believers.

This is an individual opinion. Since I'm Canadian I would say to a point only because we are a very small country. We are basically taxed to death in British Columbia (the highest taxed Province in Canada) so more taxes would go over like a lead balloon. It has been found through history that many governments (all over the world) do not spend the money wisely. That's just putting it mildly in Canada. Canadians are very under-estimated because we do all come to the rally of others (9/11, flooding in New Orleans, Tsunami victims, etc.) We are a very generous people and do the best we can. During 9/11 Canadian volunteers went to New York in droves, we gave blood, clothing, money and anything else we could do. Not often on American news does one hear about this. As far as the war raging on we have a small Army and the Government has cut funding back on the Army and even Navy. We are suppose to be "Peacekeepers" but find our young men and women fighting in this new war and many Canadians are confused because of it.

What is the role of government in a mixed economy?
To protect the public and to preserve private enterprise.
AnswerTo be a little more specific, a Mixed Market Economy is one founded on Free Market principles, but which uses government regulation and monitoring to control certain "excesses" that True Free Market (TFM) system tends to express. That is, in a MME, the government is there to inject a sense of "societal good" concerning all market transactions. The idea is that while a TFM provides optimal economicefficiency, it makes no accommodations as to what effect that optimal economic efficiency has on the society as a whole, not just the entities engaged in the marketplace. That is, what is economically most efficient may not be socially most efficient. Government regulation (i.e restriction on allowable economic activity) is the MME's solution to this problem, where laws restrict certain behavior which has been deemed "bad" or "detrimental" to the society in questions.
So, in a MME, the government's primary functions are fourfold:
Various other powers may be ascribed to the government in a MME (such as social welfare programs, protection of the populace, etc.), but, strictly speaking, they are outside the economicscope being discussed here, and are more properly considered part of a political system. Naturally, this boundary is fuzzy, for even if such programs are more properly part of a political system, they certainly have significant economic impact. E.g. if a political system chooses to have a public Universal Healthcare program, this directly impacts how medical services can be offered (and how they are funded) in the country's economy.

What is the purpose of the Usher of the Black Rod?
The Usher of the Black Rod executes the orders of the Senate of Canada, and acts as a messenger of the Governor General of Canada (as a representative of Her Majesty the Queen). The Usher of the Black Rod is also responsible for maintaining the security of the Senate chamber, and may detain persons who disrupt the proceedings of the Upper House.
Commonly referred to as simply "Black Rod", the Black Rod is best known for the role that he or she plays at the opening of a new session of the legislature. When the Governor General arrives at the Senate to read the throne speech, the Speaker of the Senate orders the Black Rod to summon the House of Commons. As the Black Rod approaches the Lower House, the doors are shut and the Black Rod is forced to knock and ask for entrance; this act is symbolic of the authority of the House of Commons to control its own proceedings even in the presence of the Queen's messengers.
The Usher of the Black Rod is named for the ebony rod that symbolises its office.
