Don't know where you are located ,,but,, most of the auto parts supply houses have the codes and readers for free or can be borrowed. Some will even do it for you .AUTO ZONE OR O'RILEYS for example

if its a 4.9L motor its up top right underneath the air intake assembly, if its the 4.6 northstar its underneath towards the front of the vehicle.

The 1996 Deville drain plug is in the bottom of the radiator close to the bottom hose. It is in a very hard place to reach.

Unfortunately you will have to go to the dealer for any additional keys. There is not a separate 'VALET' key. Some models have what is called a 'SERVICE KEY' which will operate the locks, but will not start the vehicle. The Cabrio is not one of these.

A seal is prolly going bad. its gonna give you code P0410 if you dont fix it.

It may turn back in rather than push back in like other caliper pistons. You can go to any parts store and by a cheap tool that has all different kinds of notches on it. find the right set of notches and turn it back into the caliper. If the piston is just round then you can buy another cheap tool and just leave the inside pad in the caliper and use the tool to push it all the way back in. be sure to take it slow turning or pushing the piston back in or you will have brake fluid all over the engine from forcing the fluid back into the line. cdhaze@msn.com

Sounds like it needs an overhaul.

Poor oil pressure can be due to worn main & rod bearings and the shaking with failure to start means low or no compression which can be worn valves and/or worn piston rings.

Just sounds like it needs a new motor.

Also could be a broken timing chain which means the valves aren't being moved and the cam isn't turning so the oil pump isn't being driven.

I have a 99 cadillac Eldorado. Am using the heavy duty water pump removal tool trying to turn it in the clockwise direction. Will not budge. Using a breaker bar with a 4 ft galvanized pipe as a cheater bar. Had to make two 8 inch long wooden dowels to wedge between the tool and the side of the engine compartment to keep the tool on. Still will not budge. Sprayed some liquid wrench on the tabs and will let it set overnight. If it still does not budge I will use a torch to heat it. Any comments?

Sometimes the battery has to be disconnected in order to clear out the com,puter. The computer will disable the a/c compressor when the system loses its charge. You have to either clear the low charge code out of the computer or unhook the battery for a minute. You can hold in OFF and WARMER at same time on the climate panel and see if you get any A/C codes. Do this with key on, engine off. To get dash back to normal press auto or turn off ignition.

On the top of the drier at the passenger side firewall Wrong the pressure switch is on the ac line under te air cleaner assl. There OS no drier on the fire wall it is before the switch .

Low oil pressure or a faulty sensor. First thing to do is to replace the oil filter with an AC/Delco filter. This is an excellent filter designed for your Cadillac. If that does not solve the problem, replace the oil pressure sending unit. If that does not do it, then an oil pressure test is in order, to determine if the oil pump is faulty.

it is not a valve it is a hollow bolt located on left side (drivers) of engine. follow the hose from the coolant system pressure tank where you fill the coolant take the beauty cover off top off engine. 2 bolts now follow the hose from fill tank across engine it will lead you to a bolt take this bolt out and make sure it is not plugged up with crap this is how the air finds its way to the fill tank. i don't mean to scare you but this engine has head bolt issues and makes the coolant gauge go up down when ever it feels like it and things just get worse from there i am going through it now. i want my lexus back

If you have the northstar motor with dual overhead cams you will find one timing mark on each cam gear as well as (after you unbolt the oil pump) a mark on the crank and a mark on the gear above . You should have a total of three chains driving the system one running from the crank to the gear above , one chain that runs from the drive gear to the left side head (which will be marked on the caps that hold down the cams on each head ,ie li le left intake left exhaust, there will also be the same marks on the right side head. The marks on the crank should line straight up and the mark on the gear above should also be positioned straight up each of the cam gears should at this point be facing 90 degrees from the flat surface where your valve cover seats i recommend using a speed square to make sure this is correct and you should be in perfect time.

On the North Star engine you need to remove the air filter assembly and look on the right side of the engine you will notice the thermostat housing connected to the water pump cover on the engine. Once the water pump cover is removed a special socket is needed to remove the water pump. It is also a good idea or install a new belt on the water pump as well.

Go to Walmart and for about $3 you can buy a cooling system flush kit...it will be in the auto parts section near the antifreeze. There are instructions on the package that will tell you how to do it. It is incredibly easy and takes about 15 minutes.

HI There is no real trick. The best way to acccomplish this is to first have the number one piston up at the top on the compression stroke.(number one piston must be at top of compression stroke) To be sure of this, pull out the spark plug in number one cylinder and take off the rocker cover. When the piston is on its way up and the intake valve is closing,it is coming up on compression stroke.(Get the piston as close to the top as possible) Now a chiltons manual will show you where on the distributer cap number one plug wire goes, put in the distributer with the rotor on it and keep dropping it in(turning the gear a little) until the rotor is pointing to the direction the manual shows is number 1 on the Cap. Set timing,Your done

The light is on because there is a problem detected by the ABS/Traction control module. Once the problem is fixed the light will reset itself after a short drive.

From underneath the car is the easiest way.. make sure you don't mess with the positioning of the lights if you start to unscrew the light and the light moves left or right stop, it's not the right screw. then just pull it out and put in the new one.
