Where is the horn located under the hood on a 1998 Plymouth Breeze?

My horn on my Plymouth Breeze was under the front manifold of the car. Have a friend or family member get inside your car and honk the horn as you listen for it. I would advise wearing ear plugs though, unless your car horn doesn't work. If it is not working then look under the manifold in the grill slots, and also maybe underneath the manifold. I have seen them there before too.

Can you wire up a horn to car battery?

Answer 1

Yes, but... you will need wire heavy enough to carry the current [measured in Amperes or Amps] that the horn uses, and also need to install a control switch in the circuit or the horn will sound continuously. The hookup is simple: one horn wire to the Positive [+] terminal and the other horn wire to the Negative [--] terminal.

It would also be a very good safety practice to install a properly sized fuse in circuit to protect the conductor wires.

Where is horn relay on 1998 Pontiac sunfire?

The horn relay for this vehicle is located under and somewhat behind the glovebox. It's kind of a pain to get to. If you're a larger guy like me, get one of your shorter, skinnier friends to get to it. Just remember, if you press the horn pad and you hear the relay clicking, the relay is fine so there won't be a need to replace it. In that case, you're gonna need a new horn. The horn is located under the passenger side headlight. Pull the headlamp assembly completely out and you'll see it. This is an easy fix and all you will really need is a 10mm wrench or socket. Also, be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable so you don't blow the fuse, which by the way, is also the same fuse for the cigarette lighter. Ain't that stupid? New horn prices depend on what kind of horn you wish to replace the old one with. They usually start around $15.00. Good luck!

How do you replace the horn button in a 1993 Caprice Classic?

There is plastic connectors on the air bag/ steering wheel cover that break very easy over time. it is easy to replace if you can find the part. just make sure when you replace it that you disconnect the battery.

You touched a nerve with me on this issue.

My 1992 Caprice had horn problems from day one. First it would honk at night any time the temperature dropped below 20. Then it wouldn't work during the day. I took it to the Chevy dealer and they fixed it for around $100. I am not a big horn honker so I never even used it other than to test it when I picked it up.

The next year before inspection I check it and it doesn't work. Back to the dealer and I tell them to fix it again and inspect it. They call me up and tell me that my steering coluum is loose but they can fix it for $750. I give them instructions to fix the horn and reject the inspection. They do. When I pick up the car I press them for details and the service manager says the technician said that the steering wheel moved. I had to agree since it still moved the same tiny amount it did when I picked it up at the dealers in 1992! So I scape off the rejection sticker and go to a local gas station and it passes just fine.

The horn does not work because it is a crappy design. The contacts inside the steering wheel cover cost Chevrolet about 2 cents each and they got what you paid for. In my humble opinion I think a recall should have been issued but what do I know?

Pay the dealer to fix it since the air bag is right there and you could kill yourself screwing with it, then, buy a Toyota next time. I did.
