2005 Hyundai Sonata very rough idle and sometimes stalling now only has 28000 miles?

try cleaning the air filter and the fuel injection system

I assume you're getting a check engine light. Hook up an OB2 code reader, google the code with the 2005 Hyundai Sonata, and get an explanation of the code. In general, 3 things make your vehicle go down the road: FUEL, COMPRESSION, & SPARK. Everything falls under 1 of these 3. It sound like you could have a bad fuel injector or a bad spark plug or faulty coil in which a code reader will detect right away. If you live near an auto zone most will check it for you for free and research the code for you. A good OB2 code reader is around $40.00, and there are better ones out there for a little more than that. Hope this helps, Joe

If i replaced a oxygen sensor in my car how come it drives worse now?

I just read something recently when researching replacing my O2 sensor. It said after you change it out you need to drive through the various stages of normal driving. Highway speed, more aggressive than usual acceleration, regular casual driving, in town stop and go etc. It's something about retraining the computer in the car to learn the new specifics of the sensor. Hope it helps and if this is right someone else please chime in with more info or an affirmative.

Service engine soon light on a 93 corvette?

The check engine light (service engine soon) comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. Generally, the problem is in the emissions or something that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions, but other causes can trigger the light to come on, too. To determine the cause, the vehicle will need to be taken to a parts store or a shop that has an OBD2 scanner, or for 1995 and earlier models, an OBD1 scanner, While a scanner will not give you the magic answer, it will give you a code that narrows down the problem area.

The check engine light is on because the ECU has detected a problem with the emissions system. If you reset the light without repairing the problem it will just come back on. Have the ECU scanned with an OBD2 scan tool which will tell you the code that has been set. This code will lead you in the direction of the problem. 1992 Lexus LS400 trac off and engine light appeared while driving and remained on So far vehicle runs fine What might be cause or issue Is it safe to drive vehicle without causing damage?

The Check Engine and TRAC OFF lights are illuminated together indicating an engine-related malfunction. The TRAC system is most likely OK, but disabled because it cannot function correctly if there is a problem with a sensor or engine related system.

The car is safe to operate while these lights are illuminated, however you will have no traction control until the problem is resolved, and the system reset. Your ABS will still function normally unless that light is illuminated too. You may notice an increase in fuel consumption.

The fault codes that caused these lights to illuminate are stored in each respective computer's volatile memory. On a 1992 LS400, the codes can be retrieved by shorting two terminals on the diagnostic connector below the driver side dash panel. They will be displayed by a series of flashes by their respective light.

See this page for more information on retreiving the fault codes and resetting them.
