Will 22's fit on a Chevrolet lumina?

22" wheels will fit if they are mounted on appropriately sized tires.

You will want to make sure that the wheels have the correct backspacing (how far the wheels stick out). Most reputable wheel retailers can help you make sure you get the right setup.

Why does the low trac light come on in a 1998 Chevy lumina?

It comes on when wheel spin is detected. This indicates the system is working.

Where is the fuel pump located on a 1991 Chevy Lumina?

In the fuel tank. There are numerous ways of getting to the pump. A mechanic, or if you cant afford one, like I couldn't, you either drop the tank, nearly impossible, or you take out the back seats, move carpet and insulation, and "cut" a hole in the body to get to it. I have removed lots of tanks to do this for in the past 15 yrs or so, and found this last option a great one, as on the lumina's, without a proper tool, you have to drop the rear axle assembly, pain in the buttux.

What does the relay panel do in a 1998 Chevy Lumina?

There are several relay panels in newer vehicles. A typical use of a relay panel is to aggregate several control relays into a single convenient location. Relays are used to provide control of high current devices with a small control current. So by activating a switch in the cabin a relay is energized to start the airconditioning. If there were no relays then heavy wire would have to be run to heavy switches to control high current systems resulting in higher costs and added vehicle weight.

Why would oil leak into your air filter on a 1991 Chevy lumina?

Two possibiities: 1. your positive crankcase ventilation valve is clogged. A new one would cost aroung $4.00. 2. If your engine is a very high mileage engine you may have some "blow by" causing oil vapors to be forced back up through the intake. The only remedy for that is an engine rebuild. If the PCV is okay and the engine seems to run okay I don't think I'd spend the money to rebuild the engine in a car that is that old. Just keep wiping out the excess oil and drive her until she is completey worn out.

Where is the flasher unit for a 1992 lumina?

The flash control unit is located on the fuse panel in the glove-box. The problem may be a faulty switch, though, like mine had. That latterr not an easy fix, though, because it involves gaining access to inside the steering column.

There are actually two flasher units in a 1992 Chevy lumina, one is in fact in the glove box panel, but that is for the hazard flashers, there is also another one tucked up underneath the panels by the gas and brake pedals, its the last panel under there closest to the firewall, feel around up there for a little clip, its pretty hidden, and that's the one for the blinkers.

How do you repair a power window motor on Chevy Lumina van?

First remove the door panel, 4 screws and a little prying and its off. There are Five rivets that need to be drilled out. Two are easy and you will see which ones are the two. The Three others are backwards. I had to drill on the soft alluminum and then take a pair of dykes and snip at it until I got the rivets out. It took me about an hour to get all five out.

I suggest buying the motor and regulator together, much easier to mess with. If you didn't then you must drill out three more small rivets and then place the old regulator on to the new motor. I taped the regulator to the bracket because I didn't want the angle to change. Then I used the supplied bolts and placed the regulator and bracket to the motor. Once it's on remove the tape.

Now, back to the rivets that are a pain. You will notice that the rivets that are backwards are also a mounting stud. I had to use a small drill bit from the back side and drill it out so that I had a clean hole. You have to do this on all 4 studs. Then find some small bolts, nuts and washers and bolt it back up. Make sure you put the regulator back on it's track for the window.

You should be up and running. I have pics but it's pretty easy.

Where is the fuel pump located on a 1997 Chevy Lumina LS?

I'm about 99% sure that it is in the gas tank. Yes, you do have to drop the tank to replace this.

AnswerMake that 100%. Mark AnswerBaloney!!! I changed mine. It is accesable under the back seat. AnswerBoth you guys are right - you can change it either by removing the gas tank or by taking off the back seat, but it'll take the same amount of time either way.

How do you replace a master cylinder on a 1992 Chevy Lumina?

Replacving a master cylinder is usually pretty straight forward. Remove the brake lines, unbolt/remove the master cylinder, Re-install in reverse order. The hard part is bleeding the new master cylinder/brakes once you put it on. Caution: Your life depends on your brakes. If you're not sure you can do it right... don't. Get someone to help you.

1992 Lumina idles too high 2000-2800 rpm when cold and around 1500 rpm when warmed up Drives fine but idles at 1000 when at a stop sign IAC is ok?

Try cleaning the throttle body. Carbon usually builds up causing the idle air control valve to malfunction. Yes...as the previous answer says. Remove the large oval air housing from the intake and locate the "flapper" inside. This flapper i believe will be closed. Use your finger to flip it open and spray carb cleaner in there and use a rag to remove the black powder that's built up on the inside of the housing. Believe it or not but this slight build up causes the flapper thing to not close all the way! Don't spray a ton, you're only trying to clean where the flapper thing contacts the housing wall.

How do you install a starter for a 1992 Chevy Lumina v6 3.1?

You'll need to lift up the car and support it on at least one jack stand. Disconnect the positive terminal of the battery. Remove the oil filter (make sure a drain pan is underneath). There are two bolts that hold the starter to the engine/transmission. (15mm I think) These bolts are vertical; it helps to have a wobble-extension to get them out. After it's loose, disconnect the positive battery lead and the ignition signal lead from the solenoid. (there is another nut on there grounding the solenoid to the starter - don't mess with it; you'll be removing them together). After your two nuts have been removed and the wires moved away, slide the starter over and out around the a/c lines through the space where the oil filter used to be. Mine had a shim on the top of the starter, but the aftermarket starter from the parts store was made to be used without it. Make sure you know whether or not your new starter needs the shim.

Additional infoIt is generally easier to remove the starter if you disconnect the electrical connections [battery lead and ignition lead(s)] before taking out the starter bolts. This prevents the weight of the starter from pulling out the wiring and also makes it easier to move around in such a tight space.
