How do you remove 96 Chrysler Concorde radio?

Remove bezel/trim from radio. There are no screws, it snaps off. Begin to loosen the trim from the bottom. Now, there should be two bolts (10 MM), one is on the bottom left and the other is usually on the top right. Unscrew these two bolts and slowly slide the radio out. There will be two plugs in the back, one black and one gray. Carefully unplug these. Now, unplug the antenna. Now you should be able to completely remove the radio. When you go to buy the replacement factory radio remember that the 96 Concorde uses the old style-90's wiring...has two plugs, a black one and a gray one. You must use the older style radio if going with the OEM Chrysler radio on a 96 Concorde

How do you replace the thermostat located on a 1997 Chrysler Concorde?

The thermostat for a 1997 Chrysler Concord is located on the top front part of the engine. Follopw the big radiator hose to the top of the engine, where it connects to the thermostat housing. It has two bols that are easily accessible from the top. Remove the two bolts pull up on the thermostat housing. Take out the old thermostat and replace with a new one. Also, replace the gasket as well. Something else that may be helpful I found when changing my thermostat. Check to see if the thermostat housing has a bleeder valve on it. This is a just a small piece that can be turned with a wrench. If the engine is cool, you can attatch a small tube to the bleeder valve and open it to drain off any coolant that may still be in your upper radiator house and will prevent you from having any coolant in the house splashing out all over your engine when you remove the thermostat housing later. Just make sure to tighten the valve again before topping off the coolant after changing the thermostat.

How do you replace the headlight bulb located on a 2002 Chrysler Concorde?

I've done this many times. Living in Washington, you find your lights are on a lot in the rain, etc. Pop the hood and you will see the wells where the headlights are located. It's pretty straight forward, no tools are required, but it is a knuckle buster. In the well you will see either a black or white plastic part that has a wrapped electrical cable coming from the back. The part is a 3" diameter and cylindrical in shape. It appears like it is attached to a sheet metal piece. (and it is) Get a hold of the part with your hands and turn it counter-clockwise. If you can't turn it with your hands get a large vice grip, but dont over squeeze on the vice grips you don't want to break this part. Once you have the part loosened, (about a quarter to an eight of turn will move it out of its locking grooves) just pull it carefully straight out. Be careful the bulb is in this tube. Carefully pull the bulb out. Insert the new bulb, position the tube back in its hole, turn it clockwise and that's it. The one by the battery is a little harder. I have had to remove the battery to take out the piece on a couple of occasions. Good luck.\

Is there a AC filter to change or clean in a 2000 Concorde that removes musty smell?

Answer

Yes, there's a "cabin air filter" on many cars. It's much overlooked because most people don't know it exists.

Some are under the dash, some are in the engine compartment. Sorry I don't know where yours is--or even for certain that your car has one.

Google for:

cabin air filter

With your car's year, make, and model, and something might come up...we hope.

Answer

AC evaporators are cold enough that moisture in the air is constantly condensing on the outside. Since they are constantly wet, they are an ideal location for fungus to grow. The fungus smells bad once it gets established. You can't really filter out the fungus, since it's on the refrigeration coils and past the filter. The only thing you can do is SOMETIMES an anti-fungal liquid can be sprayed into the AC intake and you can destroy the fungus and get rid of the smell. It's far more common in areas of the country where the air is constantly humid.

A Concorde does not have a cabin filter.

How to remove windshield washer pump Chrysler concord?

Take the car apart as you would to get to the front driver headlight. It involves taking out a few screws, headlight, plastic bottom coverlike under the bumper. It has one bolt that ties the plastic to the fender and it is hidden in a hole in the wheel well. You will se a plastic cover, oval in shape about two inchs long to remove. You will need a long extention tow get to the bolt. I found that on my 99 Concorde I just needed to remove bolts on one side of the car to be able to pull the plastic out far enough to expose and remove the front headlight. That exposes the windshield washer tank. three bolts and a coupl of wires and hoses and its out of there. The pump is attached to the tank. It pulls out of a rubber grommet. The hard part is the first part in locating the bolts to remove the plastic bumper if you will. That drove me nuts for awhile but it was an easy task and after that you know how to change the light bulbs too. Tim

Where is the backup light switch for a 1997 Chrysler Concorde?

I have a 98 Concorde. My backup lights stopped working and I had my independent garage mechanic check it out while working on another problem and he told me the switch is internal, inside the transmission housing. I didn't pursue it futher. I'm not about to have them tear into the transmission just to replace a simple switch. Another example of Chrysler's wonderful engineering.
