== == == == The procedure for removal and replacement is basically the same for all autos, not just your Concord, so this procedure is generic in nature. The battery has two TERMINAL POSTS, one of which is electrically positive ["hot"], and is usually identified on the battery top with a "+" symbol, and/or the abbreviaton "POS." The other terminal is electrically negative ["ground"] and is identified on the battery top with a "-" symbol, and/or the abbreviation "NEG." To help prevent placing the wrong cable on the terminal of opposite polarity, the posts, and cable clamps are different sizes [diameters], with the positive terminal being slightly larger than the negative. Usually, but not always, the battery cables are identified by the insulation on the positive cable being RED, and the negative cable insulation being BLACK. If, in placing a clamp to a post, you notice that the clamp either is too small to fit the terminal, or too large and loose to fit, THEN you are trying to put the cable/clamp on the WRONG terminal post! Pay very close attention to prevent a REVERSE polarity connection, as this can DESTROY many EXPENSIVE ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS in your vehicle. Both the negative and positive cables are terminated, on their battery ends, with a "split" clamp which encricles the round terminal posts. The clamps are secured to the terminal with a cross bolt which tightens the clamp to the post. A wrench is needed to tighten or loosen the bolt. FOR SAFETY, anytime you are working on or near electrically energized wires or components, ALWAYS DISCONNECT the negative cable from the negative terminal BEFORE doing anything else. It is IMPORTANT that the NEGATIVE [GROUND] cable is removed FIRST because IF the metal wrench should contact between the negative terminal and a grounded metal body component, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. On the other hand, IF a metal wrench contacts both the positive terminal and grounded metal, WHILE THE NEGATIVE GROUND cable is still connected, a monsterous SHORT CIRCUIT will result, throwing arc sparks everywhere, possibly causing the wrench to overheat, burning your hand, and in the worst case, COULD cause the battery to EXPLODE, spraying shrapnel and SULPHURIC ACID EVERYWHERE !!!!! ALWAYS COMPLETELY DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE CABLE FIRST ! Once the negative and positive battery cables have been removed, the battery retaining mechanism [there are several different types] must be removed. Some are a bracket which clamps over the top of the battery, while most newer vehicles have a triangular "bar" which mates with a slot in the bottom edge of the battery case. This secures the battery in the tray, and prevents the battery from "bouncing" out. Once the two cables and the retainer have been removed, the battery can be lifted out of the vehicle. Batteries are very heavy relative to their physical size, so be sure to have good footing, good balance, and use safe lifting procedures to prevent physical injury. Installation of the new/replacement battery is simply a matter of reversing the above procedure. Good luck. j3h

Under the hood, on the firewall, over the top of the passenger side strut tower. Look for a plastic plug with about 5 connections. To remove:

1) Disconnect the negative battery terminal (suggested in svc manuals.)

2) Unplug wiring harness (release tab is on top of plug.)

3) Depress the spring fasteners on sides of unit (this is difficult; they are behind the base; look at the replacement unit for reference.)

4) Rotate unit clockwise (pull left side out first) as it comes out in order to clear the rigid A/C lines.

The light bulb unit is found underneath the carpet behind each tail light area. Remove the plastic screws holding the trunk carpet to the interior sides behind the rear lights, follow the wiring to the center of the tail light, this is the light bulb unit-unscrew and remove.

There are 4 O2 sensors. One before and one after each catalytic converter.

Also, how do you repair, replace brake light bulb located at the bottom of rear window in the middle? Is there a fuse just for THAT circuit? Thanks, Mike Open trunk, look inside the trunk at where approximately the tailights are, look for plastic "wing-nut" style nuts, take them off (there are 3 I believe), work the tail light out from the outside. (you should be able to loosen it after the wingnuts are off with your hand) The wires will still be attached. They (the socket) will usually come out in a 1/4 turn, replace with indentical bulb.

I have the same problem. (But also in my case the AC unit keeps blowing and can't shut it off.) Anyway, I think it's the starter engine that won't deploy to the main engine or cranck it. So, when turning the key you want to activate the starter motor but the solenoid won't flip it to run. The board computer senses that and shuts of all the power to get that darn starter going. When it doesn't, the computer disconnects the starter relay and restores the power to normal again in the car. But then again the computer senses you still have the key turned to get the motor going and the process starts all over, resulting in clicking. This problem sux but just like me you probably will have to get the starter motor out and take it to Napa Auto Store to test it and/or replace that dang part. Price is like $130-$140? Not to mention to reach this darn starter, I hope you have some tools because I don't and will take me some extra efforts to get the job done. Boy, Boy; are we happy today...............

It is located between the bottom radiator hose and the engine. The water flow is reversed on this car. The thermostate goes "SPRING SIDE" into the engine. Don't fortet to bleed the air out of the cooling system when you fill it again. (Look near the top hose and engine to find it.)

Possibly the brake light switch is bad. I had a recall on a Ford Taurus that spoke of this problem. The brake light switch releases a solenoid that holds the shifter in park.

It's pretty simple to replace these truck struts. First, you find the right ones online. Make sure they say they will fit your year Concorde. Don't get the trunk struts for the Dodge Stratus or another car as they will not be long enough. Always replace them in pairs. They will cost about $30 for the pair.

Replacing them you only need a screwdriver and maybe a rubber mallet (I used the palm of my hand). You take the caps off with the screwdriver, and take the worn struts off and recycle them. To get them off you use the mallet or your hand. Hit straight and be careful.

Then, you snap the new ones on the same way. Be careful as the new ones will be very strong and your truck will pop up really fast. This could damage your truck, so use two hands to open it, and let it raise up gently.
