The 1993 Saturn used a self adjusting hydraulic clutch system on the manual transmission vehicles. As such, the clutch never needs adjustment.

If you're having trouble with the clutch, it is most likely because of a worn or damaged clutch assembly.

labor could be around 4 or 5 hundred dollars, but with their markup with parts it could be well near 1000 dollars. Before you get it serviced I suggest asking the mechanic if they will allow customer supplied parts

clutches can cost aneware from $300 to aprox $3500 dependinging on wether you want new oem or remanufactured oem or aftermarket so go to your locar parts store and price it out and install time depends on if you now what u doin or not

Either the clutch fluid level could have gotten low allowing air into the lines or you may need to replace your clutch master cylinder. Try adding DOT3 brake fluid and then pumping the clutch pedal. If you start to notice some resistance then you need to bleed the clutch hydraulic lines.

Well, I thought I'd have a go! Haynes recommend you take the engine out, but after seeing a post on LR4x4 I thought i'd follow it and move the gearbox back. I started the job a week ago, clutch is now in but I cannot get the gearbox back in place. So my answer is.......

get someone else to do it!

Yeah ive done 3 and always taken engine out from the point of view of lineing the engine/gearbox back up again. also when you change the clutch plates after removing engine make sure you renew the clutch fork. that is loacated in the gearbox housing, you will see it when you take the engine out.

It's not really bad for the clutch, however it does cause unnecessary wear-and-tear on the tranny, especially if you don't know how to do it very well. It also decreases your fuel economy as opposed to just clutching it or popping it in neutral and coasting to a stop. The only advantages to heel-toeing are that it sounds cool if you have a halfway decent exhaust, and that if for any reason you have to speed up to avoid someone or something, you are already in gear so it's easy to do so.

This is how I did it. Its only an idea and if you not comfortable doing this HAVE IT DONE at a repitable shop.

I just changed my AC clutch in my 97 Ford Contour. I have a 4 cyl. DOHC 16 valve engine. You need to raise the car on the passenger Sid, support it with a jack stand, remove the tire and the Splash cover. I also removed the splash cover in the front of the car and the inner fender cover to be able to get to the ac clutch a little easier.

You Need Snap ring Pliers, and a couple of screw drivers or pry bars.

You will need to remove the Belt to the power steering and AC, 1- belt on the 4 cyl model.

It wasn't to bad took me 6 hours. The AC clutch comes in 3 parts. There is an outer pick ring this drives the compressor. An inner Pully assemble with a berring in it, and the %$#@^ Magnetic clutch actuator. The Reason I said %$#@ actuator is because I should not have removed it, it was a pain in the ( | ) to beat back on, and its just an electric magnet, it was fine.

When you remove the outer Clucth pick up ring, be very very careful when you pull it off as there is a spacer (looks like a washer) in the pick up ring where the bolt goes through. YOU WILL NEEED TO MATCH THIS SPACER to the new ones you will get and you will get more then one. The spacing is very Important for releasing and engaging the AC Clutch. Once you remove the Outer AC clutch pick up bolt wiggle the piece off and FIND The SPACER if it had one(Its in the pickring center). You will Now need SNAP Ring pliers remove the snap ring holding in the Pulley assemble.

Once you get the snap ring out, Be very careful and using 2 screw drivers or short pry bars pry on the left and right side of the pully assembly from the compressor side of the unit. If you pry the very outer edges, it should slide off, (very tight fit) With out disturbing the Magnetic acuator ring. Once you get it off, you can decide weather or not you want to try and take off the Magnetic pick up ring. I MADE THE MISTAKE of removing it.

If you do decide to remove the Magentic ring, you will have to use the old pulley and beat the old berring out of the pulley to use the old pulley to install the new Magnetic pick up ring. It was a pain in the ( | ) to beat the new magnetic ring on a little at a time first left then right. Once the ring is almost seated you will need to turn the pully arounfd and use the back side against the magnetice oick up ring to get it fully seated back on the compressor.

Once the Magnetic ring is on or if you were smart enough not to remove it you need to put the New pulley assembly on and get it seated. I used 3 old Strut washers and a longer bolt to slowly tighten the new pully assembly on. This worked all the was up to 1/4 of an inch then I noticed the AC compressor was turning. So Using the OLD Outer pick up ring with No spacer in it I tightened it against the New pulley assemble Useing a screw driver to hold against the little circle thingys on the outer ring and I sent the new Pully assembly home. CHECK THEN ALIGNMENT OF THE AC PULLY WITH the CRANK SHAFT PULLY, use the belt to make sure they are inline (with in reason these ain't't racing motors)

Them I removed the old Outer ring and installed a New Snap ring to hold the pulleys in place. The Snap ring should go on no problem if it doesn't its not seated enough and this will mess up yer belts send the pully assemble on more if the snap ring does not seat.

Once done with the snap ring and pully, NOW YOU MUST MATCH THE OLD SPACER to A NEW SPACER. This is important so the AC clutch has room to engage and disengage. The new clucth came with 6 different thickness washers, I picked the one that looke like the old one to me, and it worked fine. Eye them up, you don't need a micrometer to match them, you will be able to see the difference. Once you've picked your spacer drop it in side the shaft end of the new Outer clutch ring. Using the new bolt that came with the kit put it threr the hole to hold the spacer and put the outer ring back on the ac compressor.

Put the belts back on and assemble the car and Fire it up.

, Most of my time was spent figuring out how I was going to get that $^%&%%^$%$^%^%^$^$ Magnetic ring back on the compressor in such a small space to work. I did so it is possible, its slow and steady using the old pulley assemblt with out the berring in it, and beating it with a hammer and my 12 inch (1/2 drive) extention bar. (ping ping ping... my ears are still ringing)

But when your done, you wife will kiss you full on the mouth, greese and all.

Remove the flex plate access panel at the bottom of the trans where it meets the engine then remove one bolt and turn the crank to access the next till all are out

sounds like air in the system, to properly bleed the slave cylinder you must remove the mount screws and hold it so the bleed port is up

If your stick shift will not move or if it will move but the car is not shifting gears, it is broken. If it feels very loose and is not catching on any gear then it is broken.

If you are sitting at a light with your foot on the brake and you feel the brake pedal slowly sink to the floor but it pumps back up and the brake reservoir stays full, you have a bad master cylinder.

-OR, if the brake reservoir gradually lowers every day and you have to keep topping up the fluid. You check each wheel and they are all clean. -Then looking carefully at the master cylinder one day, you see the stains on the front of the booster - - -

So-so. Technically, it's not that difficult, but if you're talking about a car access is usually awkward. The end up by the pedal rack is really hard to get to, and then you have to run the cable through the firewall and onto the clutch.

Clutch drag is when the clutch pedal is fully depressed and the clutch is still partially engaged. When the clutch pedal is released or in the up position the engine is connected to the transmission input shaft. When the pedal is depressed or in the down position the engine is disconnected completely from the transmission. When the clutch drags it is still partially attached to the engine. A dragging clutch can cause a glazed flywheel and premature failure of the clutch. It will also cause the syncros to work twice as hard to slow down or speed up a gear inside the transmission when shifting. Basically syncros will wear out faster than normal and may not work properly depending on how bad the clutch drag is.

I am currently undergoing that process right now on my 04 tibby. It's a helluva process. You can go to the Hyundai service web site and it'll show you how to change it. Step by excruciating step. It doesn't seem so hard but there are a lot of hard to reach places.

For the clutch you will have to click on the SHOP tab. Select your make and year and engine size and it'll pull up everything you need to know about your Hyundai, all schematics and everything.

Hi there, hayabusa.org can answer pretty much any question you have on Busa's. Unfortunately, there is no way to adjust the clutch on the busa other than the pivot point on the lever. Buying adjustable levers can help.

On average for that car its going to cost you between 800-900 for the job. It is a fairly easy job on the prizm despite what the mechanic will tell you. If you have any friends or family at all mechanically inclined the clutch kit costs about 150 and you would just take the flywheel to a machine shop to be resurfaced for another 20. The job shouldn't take longer than 3 hours.

you have a neutral safety switch on the auto trans so it will only start in P or N you need to find out which of the 2 wires they are and tie them together and it should crank or you can make it a push button start
