The 2011 Dodge Durango has a 5-speed shiftable automatic.

Look under the hood, and locate the transmission dipstick. Grab the top, and pull the dipstick out of the dipstick tube.

It costs about 400 dollars. I assume your headlights are blinking eraticly and u may have other issues associated with it. I fixed my ctm for about 5 bucks because a junkyard didn't know what it was. The junkyard would be the best place to go due to the hefty price. The only downside to it was I can't use my alarm but it fixed the important issues.

It's probably a bad Powertrain Control Module (Main Computer). This is a note from one of my previous posts; Have you noticed the odometer display saying NO BU5? This actually means "no Bus", a communication term for a data route. It is saying that the dashboard sub-computer is not communicating with the main computer (PCM) which is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, bolted just above the wheel well area. Check the 3 connectors to see if they are plugged in all the way. If they are, your PCM is probably bad (mine lasted 90k miles). This is something you can't replace yourself because the new one must be programmed with the mileage and VIN and other info by MOPAR before it's installed. Be careful, because when the PCM fails, your money pit (Durango) will start to suddenly stall at the worst times (Freeway, Boat launch, stop light on a one lane road) and not restart until you disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and then reconnect. Good luck! The dealer charged me $800 to replace mine. $500 for the part and $300 to diagnose the problem. And I told them it was a bad PCM when I brought it in. P.S. Even if it's not giving the odometer indication, suspect the PCM. I didn't notice the "NO BU5" indication right away when the thing would kill on the highway.

It is important to know the oil capacity of a given transmission. For a C4 Transmission its oil capacity is 9 US quarts.

Normally the rear end will whine or roar if its going bad but that could be because it has no gear oil in it.

My 2000 takes about 6 to 6.5 quarts. About 1/3 quart is stored in the filter alone. Park the truck on a level surface. Drain all the oil out, and remove the old filter. Install a new filter and pour in 4.5 quarts of oil. Start the engine and let run for 1 minute. Shut off engine and wait 30 minutes. Check the oil level and add oil until full. You now know the capacity.

May be the switch There should be a button on the side of the switch (behind the dashboard) Push this button and knob/rod assembly should come out allowing you to remove bezel and switch Also replace connector when replacing switch--they have a tendency to overheat and not make good contact

Remove two screws below panel holding switch. Two clips holds switch to panel. Pry up and pull

i have just replaced a flasher on a 2001 leganza and it is on the driverside under the dash and is green.

Me, too, though mine is a 1998 Right hand drive. It was behind the bonnet lever. Once removed, recognize it as three spades with 31, 49, 49a marked on an original (though not on my replacement).

You can't just move the actual "speedometer".The entire gauge cluster must be removed,to get to your gauges.To do this...there are two round holes/openings on your dash,directly above the gauge panel.Simply insert your fingers in each hole.Whichever finger is your strongest...beit your index,or middle...

Then,pull straight back toward you,'til the dash panel begins to separate from the console.Do not use to much force while doing this,as you do not want to break the clips which hold the panel in place.You may want to put your vehicle gear shift in low,for easier accessibility during this step.Next,you will have to unplug the wire harness for your head/parking/dome lights.This needs to be done in order to have full access to your gauge cluster.The wire harness is located diectly behind your headlight switch,and it's just a simple pull to unplug it.If the harness doesn't pull right out,there is a red tab which locks the harness in place.This tab may need to be unlocked to pull the harness out.Simply pull back on the red tab with a fingernail,to unlock it.It'll make a click type sound,once it's unlocked.

Next,look at your gauge cluster....there will be four screws holding the cluster in place.Simply remove the four screws,to free your gauge cluster.Once the screws are removed,grasp the cluster on each end,gently but firmly,and pull toward you.This will free your entire cluster.Now,you have your gauges in front of you.The clear plastic housing which protects your gauges can now be removed.Do this, by removing the clips which hold it in place.Be gentle if you remove the plastic housing,in order to keep from damaging it.

Simply follow these steps in the reverse order,for re-installation of your gauge cluster!

I have a 2001 Durango and it started , what I guess you could call bucking . I put a new Throttle Position Sensor on it and now it runs just fine ... no more "bucking".

on the 2002 Durango, the low side fill valve is beside the air filter cover and the high side valve is about three inches to the left of the radiator.The low side line runs from the firewall to the compressor & the high side line runs from compressor to the coil in front of the radiator.

According to my owners manual 14.3 quarts.

Hey Le==Some of these cars have to have the engine supports removed to get to the water pump. I suggest getting a manual on your car from a parts store. It will have pictures and everything. GoodluckJoe

i recently did this repair for a friend. It was excruciating. it was all day.

There are two pulleys running in this engine, and the water pump runs on the second pully behind a case. so you have to take almost everything off to get at it. Then, the water pump is actually the belt tensioner for that pulley system. it is excentric (sp?) so when you turn it in place, it tightens the belt. then you secure it back with three bolts. The belt system in question connects the drive shaft with the cam shaft, So you do have to be Very Careful with the belt/ pulley alignment.i marked the pulleys very very carefully so i could get everything lined up again.

This was a challenging repair. The one thing i did was had my GM Dealer parts person print the screen showing the breakdown of all the parts in that location so i had a reference point. Good luck

Dodge uses what is called a "Powertrain Control Module" or PCM this is located on the PASSENGER SIDE inner fender just behind the air box where your air filter is. It will be aluminum colored and looks like a flat box.

The only way the answer below could be more wrong is if he told you that you needed rocks to set the timing and to remove the bolts with a cutting torch. I'm not sure where he got his information, but I had to leave this answer up so that everyone else that knows anything about a ZX2 can get a good laugh. Anyway, I put a link in the 'related links' section that shows exactly how to set the timing on the ZX2. The ZX2 does not have a timing belt driven water pump and is not a 'V-tech' engine as he stated. It is a serpentine driven water pump and is a 'Zetec' engine.

An Escort water pump is located under the timing cover and is driven by the timing belt. Jack up the right front corner of the vehicle, remove the following: RF wheel, front motor mount, serpentine belt, belt tensioner crankshaft pulley, timing cover, and timing belt, to gain access to and replace the water pump. It is recommennded that you install a new timing belt when you replace the water pump.

2001 ZX2 is equipped with AA 2.0L DOHC V-Tech engine. The water pump is on the front (rt side of car) of the engine block, visible with the hood up. NAPA autoparts replacement instructions are to loosen the belt drive pulley from the pump BEFORE removing the serpentine belt. Once the four bolts are loosde, take the belt off (good time to replace?) remove bolts and old water pump (four more bolts)- it will be tight, but it comes out- clean gasaket area and install new gaaket and pump in reverse order. That includes putting the pulley on and hand tightening the bolts, put on the belt, finish tightening the bolts to the pulley. Don't forget the antifreeze..

There is only 1 of 4 that you can get to without pulling the manifolds. Use a punch to knock one side into the block. Don't worry about bending it; that's what you want. Don't punch it too far it; you have an alloy block; not steel. The plug will turn sideway and you can pull it out with pliers. Cover the edge of the new one with RTV gasket maker and tap it in (flush with the block) with a socket the size of the inside of the plug.

The one that is along the fuel line is normal one to change. Usually there is one or the other. Are you sure the fpump is working? It can still come on, but fail to pressurize. Disconnect the line before it the filter and see if fuel is coming out. If not then the pump is messed up. Hope this helps.
