How do you adjust the idle of a 1988 Dodge Ram 50?
I am also trying to figure out the idle adjustment for a 1994 Ram 1500. I'm sure it has to do with tightening the cables which are loose on mine. The cables control the amount of air getting into the engine it seems and are right next to the air filter. There is a threaded end that pushes against the moving piece but there doesn't seem to be an adjusable end to it. It's really messing with my mind. Anyway, I think the cables just loosen over time and they may need to be replaced. Mine are very loose on a 1994. If you follow those cables to where they connect, you may be able to adjust it somehow inside the box. Let me know if this helps and if you figure out yours, your answer might be able to help me as well so keep me posted!
How much does an EGR cost for a Ford Ranger?
you can go to autozone.com and look up parts just like you were at the store and that will give you an idea Be careful when you go to these part houses as you maynot get the right part for your vehicle. There is a difference pending on which engine your truck has. A 3.0L engine EGR Valve will not work on a 4.0L engine believe or not. Many of the workers at these part house lack proper training and may wind up giving you anything.
What is the can with vacuum lines attached in wheel well of your F150?
It is for vacuum storage. It keeps blower mode from switching to defrost when accelerating. The mode selection is vac controlled and will default to defrost when vac is lost or low. This stored vacuum keeps that from happening

with a clogged cat. Yes.
However on the street about every car out there with and with out would not be noticable as far as power goes. your "seat of pants dyno" is not sensitive enough to measure the difference. But mother earth's ozone can: ) Be kind to our grand children and Never remove a cat unless to replace it. Its also illegal on pollution controlled vehicles, any made after 1975.
Where is the egr valve located on a 2002 Jeep Liberty v6 3.7?

Where is the PCV valve on a 1996-1999 Sable 3.0 Duratec 24v DOHC?
The PCV valve is on the right side of the engine compartment, if you're facing the front of the vehicle, just under the air intake hose. Its not directly on the engine but rather inline with the oil separator tube/hose.
A) To access this area and change the PCV valve just follow these directions. They aren't as complicated as they seem... # using a 5/16" socket, loosen and remove the positive side cable of the battery.
# using a 5/16" socket or nut driver, loosen the worm drive clamp that holds the breather hose onto the manifold.
# next unsnap the clamps that hold the breather hose to the air filter housing.
# noting their positions disconnect the 3 airlines that connect to the breather hose.
# disconnect the 2 electrical connections from the air intake hose. The front one is the mass air flow (MAF) sensor and the back one is the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor, remove the air intake hose and set aside.
# now using a 5/16" socket remove the 2 screws holding the throttle cable cover.
# remove the 2 screws holding the throttle cable bracket. You now have the best access to the PCV valve. B) Now to replace the PCV valve pull the u shaped hose off the elbow. I recommend purchasing this molded new hose for about dollars from your Ford dealer. They tend to clog or collapse after several years. Next simply pull the PCV valve out of the oil separator hose and insert the new one. The whole process can be done in 15 to 30 minutes and save you a lot. C) Now just reinstall everything in reverse. The PCV valve is located on the drivers side, underneath the silver intake manifold. Follow the black accordion tube from the air cleaner to the throttle body valve. Place your hand on the bottom of the throttle body and you will find the PCV attached to two short rubber hoses. Hand access is limited, so you have to feel for the PCV and blindly remove the hoses from the PCV. Be patient, and allow time to finesse the new PCV onto both hoses. While you're at it, be sure to check the condition of the connecting hoses. I found one of mine to have totally collapsed on my 1998 DOHC v6. there is a pcv valve. it is located under the "snorkel" of the upper intake manifold. it is accessed by removing the vacuum line from the front valve cover at the rubber connector between the air filter housing and throttle body(swing out of the way, to the left is best). next remove the two screws that hold the throttle linkage cover in place and remove the cover. third remove the throttle return spring. you can now reach the pcv valve for removal and replacement. It's at the right rear corner (facing the engine), tightly underneath the throttle body. It is in-line in 1/2 inch or so diameter hoses - look for where the one of these hoses takes a 90 degree turn. 97 Merc sable, 12, valve, 3.0 liter, vulcan engine: located on top of intake manifold box, vertical position facing down. manafold box is on passsenger side, near firewall. horizontal hose extends to the right.
How do you change the EGR valve on a '00 Toyota Camry?
2 bolts connect it on top to the back of the manifold. I used a 1" wrench to undo the bottom connection at the bottom of the engine. It does require getting under the car and is easily located and removed. The vaccum hoses will also come off relatively easily and you may find the whole assembly has been choked with carbon deposits. Carb cleaner will dissolve these and then you can reconnect all hoses and lines...best of luck ..it's pretty easy, just time consuming and finding a metric wrench proved futile, thus the 1" wrench for the lower connection.
How do you adjust the idle on an 1994 F250 truck 460 engine?
first of all did this engine come in this truck but to answer your question
if it is a carb turn both screws in all the and turn them out 21/2 turns
if it's fuel injection it's a screw in the throttle position area turn that screw
good luck
Hi If this vehicle is fuel injected My 91 f250 with a 460 is. The idle isn't adjustable, the idle is controlled by the computer ,the computer gives a signal to the Idle Air Control Valve,it is located just under the throttle body and bolts to the intake with two 8mm head bolts,it has a two wire plug at the end. This valve either needs cleaning or replacement. Many times cleaning does the trick; remove use a libral amount of carb and choke cleaner, the use some pb blaster to lubricate the slide inside.Or the valve is around 65 bucks and just replace it.
Don't start turning screws on the throttle body, these settings(min
imal air setting) are done at the factory and usually have blue lock tite on the threads.
This fix should be pretty simple and this way your truck will be back to speck
Take care
How do you reset the egr light on a 1987 dodge ram 50?
At the bottom of the instrument cluster bezel there are 2 rectangular plastic closeout "plugs". Carefully pry off the one on the right side off and look inside (may need flashlight). There is a switch with a sliding black button about 2 inches deep below where the closeout "plug" was. Slide the switch over to the other side and you should be done. Replace plug. Finished.
Egr solenoid for 1990 C1500 Chevrolet How do you replace the EGR Solenoid?
The egr solenoid is to the right of the throttle body just past the map sensor. You can follow the vacuum line from the egr valve directly to the solenoid. It's a little square box a little larger that a matchbox. It has one 2 wire electrical plug and 2 or 3 vacuum lines going to it. Detach the vac hoses and the 2 wire connector. The solenoid itself is just slid on a flat piece of metal bracket with a little locking tab. Just use a flat head screwdriver and lift the metal tab and the solenoid will slide right off. Slide the new one on and attach the hoses and electrical connector. You are done! Advance auto normally keeps the solenoids in stock for about $20.
What does egr valve insufficent flow mean on a 97 Toyota Camry le?
I had the same problem on my 1997 Toyota Camry. Took it to autozone and they told me the code was ins. air for the EGR, and my EGR was bad and needed to be replaced. i think he wanted like $150, but I'm a college student and it didnt seem to be making my car run really abnormally... i got tired of seeing the check engine light... i took the EGR out, and took all 4 vacuum out with it. i pulled off all the lines and blew/sucked a small puff of air into the bottom of the EGR... the diaphragm moved easily... so my EGR was good. i started to blow through the hoses to check them. when i got to the biggest hose that goes into the bottom of the EGR... it was almost totally blocked. i cleaned it out with a chopstick to break all the hard crap loose... ran hot water through it... let it dry and popped it back in. fixed. i guess i could/should have bought a new vacuum line but it was 3am. :p

AnswerIt's probably blocked from corrosion, blocked with exhaust buildup or kinked shut.Where is the EGR valve located on 1999 mercury villager?
Attached to the back side of the throttle body.
How do you clean an EGR valve on a 2003 F250 6.0?
Spray some carburetor cleaner onto the valve cover and inside the valve itself making sure not to spray onto or into any other parts of the valve housing. Clean away the loosened gunk with a rag and wire brush and continue until the valve moves smoothly.
How do you replace the egr valve on 1995 buick centruy?
The EGR on the 95 Century is on the drivers side, towards the back of the engine.
1. Unplug the triangular electrical connector on top of the EGR.
2. Remove the two 8mm bolts that secure the black shroud protecting the linkage to the air intake. If I wasn't clear enough, just look at the front bolt on the EGR, you'll see that the black shroud has a slot that shares the same front bolt and has to be moved out of the way to R&R the EGR.
3. Now all you have to do is remove the front and rear bolts on the EGR and you can then pull it up and off.
4. If you made it this far, just do the same thing in reverse with the new valve,
Be sure that your gasket is aligned before you tighten down the valve.
I hope this helps you out.
BTW, the entire operation took me just 10 minutes to complete, it's a piece of cake.
Where is the egr valve located on a 1995 dodge ram 1500 v8?
Where is the EGR valve located on a 1995 dodge 1500 5.2 liter
What does EGR valve lift insufficient mean?
The exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) is an emissions control system that recirculates some of the exhaust gas back into the intake in order to re-burn any excess fuel vapor that leaves the engine. It is basically operated by a valve to control circulation. "Valve lift insufficient" means that the valve is not opening enough to circulate exhaust gas as much as the engines computer deems necessary. The vehicle will not pass an emissions test in this condition.
Where is the EGR valve located on a 1995 Saturn SL2 with DOHC engine and what does it look like?
Looking at the engine from the front of the car, the EGR valve is directly behind the valve cover (right side). It has a wiring harness connected to it with multiple wires. It sits straight down on the engine and is attached with two bolts. ( Note: the front of the valve cover is next to the upper engine mount)
