The manifold absolute pressure (MAPO) sensor monitors the air pressure as an important input to the vehicle's EFI system. On this application the MAP is bolted to the intake manifold, from where it gets its pressure readings.

The wheel alignment is off, probably the camber.

The crank sensor is located on the front side of the crank pulley, between the pulley and radiator.

Remember, it takes 3 things to get an engine to start, air, fuel and spark. Air is always there and shouldn't be a problem, so the problem is either lack of fuel or spark or a problem concerning when the fuel and spark is happening. If you turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position and hear the fuel pump running for a few seconds, it is a good bet the fuel pump is working. if you remove one of the spark plug boots from the plug and lay it back on the top of the spark plug loosely and crank the engine, if you are getting spark, you will hear a snapping or cracking sound when the spark plug should fire. (remember that the coil on an electronic ignition auto might put out up to 30,000 to 50,000 volts! don't touch that spark plug wire! it will shock you. don't ask me how I know this is true!). If both of the above are true, it is time to check the timing of the car with an inductive timing light. An inductive timing light connects to the battery and to the first spark plug wire, while cranking the car, point the timing light at the timing gauge located on or around the crank pulley. There is a slot on the crank pulley and an indicator telling if the timing is before top dead center (BTDC) or after (ATDC) zero degrees is top dead center (TDC) if when you crank the car while pointing the timing light at the indicator, if the slot on the crank pulley seems to stand still when the timing light flashed and the slot is within the area of the indicator, the car is close to being in time. If you don't see the slot on the indicator when using the timing light while cranking, the timing belt must be checked to see if it is broken or it has lost a few teeth from the belt.

I would check two different things. 1. the gas cap. the seal on the gas cap could be bad. 2. check the hoses from the charcoal canister to the gas tank (sorry I can't remember where the charcoal canister is because I no longer own this type of car) I would say one of those hoses are cracked

Hello, I have the same problem in my 1997 and it is the fuel pump cover under the rear seat. Just don't fill the tank all the way or get a new rubber seal. Remove the rear seat and look for signs of gas..

No ( not according to Gates , they make timing belts etc. )

When you open the hatch back there are two screws, take that off and then pop off the light cover and it is there.

Believe it or not it is located under the distributor cap. If you look at the cap there is a post running alonside it to the center of the cap where the coil wire usually goes.

There is no carburetor on this vehicle. It is multi-point fuel injected.

In almost every fuel injected car when you turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position the fuel pump will run for a few seconds to pressurize the fuel system before the car starts. If you take out the bottom of the back seat of the Aspire, you will see a small panel that covers the fuel tank connections ( fuel input, fuel output and the wires to the fuel pump). If you have a helper sit in the back seat (with the lower seat removed) with his ear on that panel while someone turns the ignition switch to the "ON" position the helper should hear the pump run. Another way to check the fuel pump is to get a Pressure gauge (at least 100psi gauge) and connect it to the fuel inlet of the throttle body. After connecting the gauge, turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position and watch for a pressure reading on the gauge. If you use an unbuffered gauge, the needle might fluctuate when checking for pressure. If you can't hear the pump run OR you see no pressure reading on the gauge, the fuel pump might be bad. Please be sure to check the fuel system fuses first before preforming the above steps!

the best thing I can tell you is to go to autozone or any other parts store and buy a repair manual.they only cost $20 bucks,and it will tell you step buy step what to do

The 1994-1997 Ford Aspire take 20" driver side and 16" passenger side replacement windshield wiper blades.

I had this problem also. I went to a Ford dealer and they said the bolt was no longer available,but he gave me a printout of the hatchback and circled the bolt i needed. My Grandson went to a junkyard and found the balljoint screw for $1.00 plus tax. Hope this helps.

also, the ford escort hatch back ball joint works as well. i went to a junk yard and got it for free. took me months to find it, but it worked first try.

You need to start by checking to make sure that you have to right wires. Make sure that you tak one wire of at a time so that you don't lose the firing order. Take the new plug wire and match it up with the old plug wire of the same length. and plug it in. Finish the other three and you got it.

the aspire only featured power steering in the automatic transmission.

This might have worked on a car thirty or more years ago but is actually potentially very harmful for a modern car. The cars now are designed to have a battery as an integral part of the charging system and if it is disconnected can send voltage spikes through the system and burn out your computer. Also the alternator is designed to put out a certain amount of current and this test would only tell if the alternator is putting out enough current to keep the engine running, not if it puts out enough to keep the battery charged, run the lights etc. The only real way to tell if the alternator works is to put a voltmeter on the battery and see if the voltage goes up after the car is started. Then to tell how well it works, put an amp meter in line with the alternator and see how much energy it puts out when the various circuits are turned on.

I know that on a 1995 it is located in the rear driver's side of the engine compartment. Although if you just follow the fuel line (it should have a flow arrow on it) from the engine block out it will run into the fuel filter.
