In many applications, fog lights are made of glass for various reasons. The main reason is due to heat. Fog lights are typically high intensity and burn very bright, therefore they generate more heat Glass can tolerate a much higher temperature than plastic before showing signs of melting. The glass lense is usually pretty thick which is also to tolerate heat, shock, and depending on the placement of the fog lights, the thick glass lense can resist damage caused by road debris. The thick glass lense also allows for more complex grinding to help direct the light to make the fog light more effective in low visibility conditions, grinding also can help focus the light on the road allowing flexibility in placement of the fog lights on the vehicle.

first, locate where the speedometer goes into the transaxle or transmission housing. unscrew speedometer drive from transmission housing and pull the speedometer cable out. the end of the cable unit has a couple of dipstick marks on the bottom of speedometer cable end you just removed. hope this helps. mine has 245000 miles on it and still going strong !!!

I had the same problem, it was the distributor cap, (must have had a hairline crack that i couldn't see). Changed it and the check engine light went out and it started again when it was wet outside, one you could check for is bad spark plug wires. Moisture may cause spark to jump causting misfire.

the brake fluid goes in the brake master cylinder. it is located on the driver side in the engine compartment towards the back (firewall). it's a round black plastic lid on a light colored plastic cylinder. be sure to clean the cap off with a rag before removing it to avoid getting drit from the cap into the fluid resevoir.

Follow the manual (Haynes, Chilton, Ford Factory).

After the old manifold is off, clean the mating surfaces. Install a new gasket (no cement). Bolt on the new manifold. Tighten the bolts and nuts to the torque specs in the manual following the procedure in the manual. Bolt it to the exhaust pipe (new gasket also).

IN MYCASE IT WAS THE THE GAS FILLER TUBE. IT BEGAN TO CRACK AND RUSTED-OUT, LEAKING GAS WHEN GASSING-UP AND WHILE BEING DRIVEN. RULE THIS OUT,BY LOOKING UNDER THE REAR WHEEL WELL OF THE GAS FILLER, YOU'LL NOTICE A METAL TUBE CONNECTED TO THE FILLER. CHECK FOR CRACKS AND LEAKS WHILE GASSING-UP,AND CHECK THE RUBBER ITS HOOKED TO, FOR HOLES;MAKE SURE ALL CLAMPS ARE TIGHT--ALSO IF UNSURE PLACE PAPER UNDER TO SEE HOW MUCH,THOUGH YOUR NOSE SHOULD TELL IF IT'S FROM THERE, ---GOOD LUCK!

The starter sits on top of the transmission and is connected by to bolts to the tranny and an extra mount bolt on the left side of the starter. undo those bolts and remove your wiring to the starter. Be sure to disconnect the neg. battery cable first tho. follow the revers of these steps to install.

The fuel pump on a Ford Aspire 1997 model is under the back seat. Take out the back seat and there is a plate in the floor with screws holding it down. Take these lose and the whole fuel pump housing and all will lift out of the fuel tank. !

I just changed mine. Pull gently down and snap off on the plastic globe. Take old fuse out and put in new fuse. Replace (snap on) the plastic globe. Turn overhead light switch toward driver side to turn off dome light. Turn overhead light switch toward engine to automatically turn light on when doors are opened. Turn overhead light switch to right passenger side to turn light on with doors closed (or open).

I have a 1995/96 ford aspire. During a emission testing the car failed due to a PO510 code - closed throttle position switch. What does that mean? And how do I fix it?

go to autozone, they'll tell you how much and what type of transmission fluid to use. I'm not sure of the automatic transmission fluid, but the manual transmission uses regular transmission fluid. Autozone will tell you how much to put after you drain it all from the big bolt at the differential. you have to fill it by taking out the speedometer cable at the top of the differential, use a long skinny funnel to fill it, and have fun trying to get the speedometer cable back in by aligning the plastic gear on the cable. takes some work, just wiggle it around until it falls into place and then tighten the screw that holds the cable to the differential.

It could be a clogged of defective positive crankcase ventilation valve. The best way to find out is to have the code pulled from the computer. Many auto parts stores will do this for free.

Yes they can ive had rims from American racing on mine and they seem alright also some from scertain ford escorts will fit on the aspire and some Toyota rims.
