To reset the computer, disconnect the negative battery cable, turn the ignition switch on, then back off, and rehook the battery after about 15-30 minutes.

The purge solenoid that vents the air from the gas tank as it fills is immediately behind the rear wheel well on the left (drivers) side.

Be sure to check if you have no voltage on the solenoid when the car is shut off.

Sensor 2 is the one after the catalytic converter. Located strait down under intake.

you pop off the pannels right by the doors and you will see 2 bolts on each side.. take those out and then were your defrost air comes from take that off and losen the four bolts that hold your steering wheel and presto! your dash board will just lift off like nothing. -------------- I'm not sure if the above is a jest. To remove the whole front dash assembly in this car, e.g. if you're replacing the heater core, is a big job. Even if you're a decent home mechanic, it'll take you several hours. If the question is about the instrument cluster only, or heater controls or radio removal, then the "dash" doesn't have to be removed.

On pontiac grand am its very simple... on the front of the shifter closest to to radio there is a small metal piece down where the plastic meets the metal rod. it run side to side. use a small flat screwdriver and pry it out. its like a big staple. dont lose it or you wont be able to keep the new one on. Too Easy! for the guys who told you to unscrew it...., go back to the trailer park.

first check all of your light turn signal bulbs, if one or more are burnt out your turn signals won't work this is the way ford designed these cars to let you know a bulb is out! But most likely your flasher is bad these are replacable for a few bucks at your local auto parts store. And the flasher is round and located in the fuse panel underneath the dash on the driver side. oh yeah make sure your fuses are not burnt out either!

It should be located between your air filter housing and the engine.

on my 91 you take out the two Phillips head screws put them in the other set of holes and as you tighten it will push the drum off

2. Take the bolt holding the tensioner onto the head out.

3. Take the tensioner off.

In most 1990s and later vehicles you cannot adjust the idle. It is controlled by the ECM or computer. An idle that is not correct indicates something like a vaccuume leak or a sensor issue.

I had a problem once with my 97 Ford F 150 where the brake lights were reversed. On all the time except when I pushed on the pedal on the wires that went to my boat trailer.

It was a simple relay that was fried. Took it to Firestone and there "Master Repairman" said everything was off on the trailer electric connection. I knew that was incorrect because it used to work just fine.

Took it to the Ford dealer and within 20 min diagnosed the problem with a cheap fix of about 30 dollars.

I have a 99 an on the shift console there's a small plastic cap at top rt above "P" pull it off. It's a pretty small opening but I stuck drinking straw in an pressed button to unlock. It needs fixed but until u can it will keep u from being stuck.
