Were do I locate the fuel filter on a 1993 Ford probe 4 cylinder

There is a reset switch inside the trunk on the left side. Look for the red button in the fender well area. This switch interupts the connection to ground. It is designed in case of a rollover. The relay itself is on the left side of the steering column under the dash. There are multiple relays in the cluster. According to the diagram in the Ford service manual it is the lower left one.

Check the tubing going from the air filter to the intake manifold to see if it has come loose. This might account for extra air going into the intake manifold than the computer is aware of. Otherwise it may be due to a faulty(or dirty) MAP/MAF sensor. Another possible cause is from low fuel pressure due to restricted fuel lines or a bad fuel pump.

According to the manual, 7.9 quarts.

The only fix is to replace the gaskets. Also check to make sure the head is not warped or cracked.

I found this really hard, i tried a good 10-15 times before i used a key, took of the key from my keyboard and used a pencil to jab down the key. I found this a lot faster, i even passed it first time trying it this way :)

No need to match it to any other pump. Just purchase a fuel pump for your Ford Probe and it will fit and work. You for sure do not want to install a used fuel pump. Way to much work to change it out.

The tranny will fit, but the trans. computers are very different. The 93 won't shift right with the 97 computer.

I had the same problem, I took apart the shift lever and replaced the button, the wire had pulled apart and was reconnecting time to time

If an O/D light flashes it typically means that there is a trouble code set. it could be a bad sensor or something else. as of your belt squealing when the A/C is turned on, it might be loose or worn out. when my O/D light never stoped blinking it is a problem with your tranny it trying to tell you some thing about a mo. after it started blinking the tranny died a really bad death get it checked out before to late it having problems with the gearing

Seems to be that the cd4e transmission is stated to be a bad tranny. When in actuality the vss sensor and some others are crap! Many Many people who own ford probes have had tranny probs! Sorry to say they have paid for them to be rebuilt and most of them only needed the sensors replaced. Look at them first!

Check fuses. (blower), could also be fan motor brushes bad. Check ohm's between both terminals, should have continuity, if so, check either terminal to metal housing of fan, if continuity exists, fan motor is bad.

Yes a bad thermostat would cause overheating in any car. A thermostat regulates the temperature.

Support the hatch with a broomstick or other object. The hatch witout anys support is HEAVY. Remove one support strut by removing the bolts. The new strut comes with new hardware, ball sockets, etc. Install as shown on the picture directions that are included. Make sure you save an old bolt because the replacements that I used did not use all the old holes. Align the struct in the same direction as the old one. Carfully try to lower the hatch after installing the first replacement. Then repeat for the second one. Keep in mind there is a different strut number for cars with the spoiler, which is due to the extra weight of the spoiler. I ordered my repalcements from a venodr on eBay.

you'll need a replacement sensor with either an exact fit or universal connector. The front sensor is visible sticking out of the exhaust pipe, if you open the hood and look near the bottom of the engine underneath the air intake tube (big plastic piece connected to air filter housing that bolts in above radiator). Rent a o2 sensor socket for free from an auto shop. You'll probably need to remove the air intake tube to access the o2 sensor, easy to do by unbolting and pulling off from air filter housing. Disconnect old sensor from electrical plug, and remove with the o2 sensr socket. replace with the new sensor and replace the air intake tube... whole thing takes 30 minutes at most.

92 ford probes did'nt have twin cams

My Ford service manager told me that the horn on my '91 Probe is under the driver's side front fender. My horn is on its way out and the one in our '91 Escort just died altogether. I can't find either one by searching around in the engine compartment, so it must be hidden under the fender somewhere. I just read that it might be a relay switch in the steering column that would couse the horn to stop working. This might be easier to check than taking the wheel off and searching under the fender. The disc brake pads usually last 40,000 to 50,000 miles under normal conditions. The rotors should last for 2 brake jobs unless they have been run metal to metal.
