HI, you will find the EGR valve connected to the back of the throttle body i am currently removing SC off my 1989 ford Thunderbird

SC for cleaning the intake system . plus the EGR tube that goes to the exhaust was disconnected and well i have poor idle, vehicle running very rich on fuel, and when going fast vehicle bogs down like if it was missing fuel... suspecting the MAF is bad to, you will have to remove the supercharger, intake and exhaust inter cooler air tubes and throttle body there is two bolts to the EGR valve. GOOD luck.

Usually goes from the negative post to the engine block. Another one goes from the engine block to the car frame or body. Real easy to find, just trace from negative post of the battery.

I NEED TO KNOW THE GROUND WIRE IS IN THE WIRING HARNESS UNDER DASH.

OR DO YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD MAKE MY SPEEDOMETER, TACH AND TEMP GAUGE NOT WORK ON A 1988 T-BIRD COUPE?

The brake light fuse on a 1987 Thunderbird is located on the back of the headlight switch. It is not in the fuse box.

The fuse box diagram should be on the fuse box cover. It also is in the automobiles owners manual.

its a standard ford C6 passenger car transmission. a truck C6 wont work as i believe the bellhousings are different. torino, fairlane, and Lincoln transmissions should be the same.

The spark plugs are gapped at ( .054 inch )

There are two fuel filters. The fuel lines run along the left hand side of the undercarriage. The main fuel filter is located on the left side just forward of the rear wheel on the undercarriage. The second fuel filter is a screen located in the fuel tank. Your fuel lines run along the RIGHT side of the under carriage (sitting in the drivers seat determines left and right!). Just under the under carriage approx below passengers front seat you will see a shield with a hose clamp. Loosen the clamp with a common screwdriver, remove the two bolts also holding the shield to the frame and pull the shield slightly down. You will see your fuel filter. To replace, finish removing the shield from the filter, and replace as necessary.

I would find a replacement in a salvage yard and replace the handle. Or replace with door poppers

on mine, you have to turn them on with the slope-like switch, then pull the windshield wiper switch back. there are also other roll switches near the slope one, but the control the interior

The engines do not share the same bellhouseing bolt patter. If you had a 3.8 it would be a bolt in, the 5.0 and 3.8 share the same bellhousing pattern. The 4.6 has a bellhousing all its on. Baumann performance does offer an adapter plate to make them bolt up though. If you want a 5.0 just change the engine and trans out of a earlier T'bird , but good luck finding the 5.0 motor mounts for the 89 and up birds.{they are very hard to find}

You still have a blower resister assembly, wiring, and a blower motor itself, in that system. Any one of those could have a problem. You need to use a test light at the blower motor connector and see if you are getting both power and ground. If you are missing a ground, most likely you have a bad blower resister assembly. If you are mssing power, check fuses and wiring. If you have both power and ground, and the motor isn't working, you need a blower motor. I have also found that sometimes tapping with a screwdriver handle on the motor will make it come on, and if that is the case, then again, you have a bad blower motor.

its the alarm telling you your lights are on this happens when you open your door so your door may not be closeing right

On a 1990 Ford Thunderbird :

There should be an EEC TEST connection in the engine compartment for the OBD I , EEC IV system

There are really a few options:

1) Bypass the heater and buy jackets, and leave them in the trunk for all the people you may have in your car. I live in Florida, and I also have gloves.

2) Try a radiator stop leak. Might work for awhile.

3) Hire someone to do it, probably around $500

4) To get to the heater core is an all day job. It requires taking out the dash to access the device. The core itself is only $20, the labor is impossible. The core is on the passenger side, behind the glove box, behind a black encasing that holds both the heater core and the AC evaporator.

There are a few possibilities, Make sure the battery is fully charged then check to see that the wire going from the solenoid to the starter is clean and tight. Sometimes the connection gets corroded. If these check out I suggest pulling the starter and taking it to the auto parts store and have them test it. Always disconnect the battery first before you remove the starter.

I'm not a mechanic / technician but the Ford 3.8 liter V6 engine is an

Over Head Valve / pushrod design engine that has ( 1 camshaft )

so I assume there would only be ( 1 camshaft position sensor )

It lists the 89 to 97 at a very nice .31

For comparison some Mustang GT were at .36 and the Slick Camaro Z-28 was .32

I can get 26mpg in my supercoupe if I am really gingerly with the 300hp modified engine with my custom ram air system, which I race superbikes with and have clocked 175mph on our local highway here in NJ

5 qts. for engine, .5 qt extra for oil filter change.

It is in the bottom of the dash on the drivers side. you have to remove the panel below the steering wheel. it is held in with Philips head screws.

follow your upper radiator hose back to the engine.there will be a round housing that is retained buy two bolts underneith thet is the thermostat. make sure that you put in the new thermostat in thesame direction you removed it.

R12, which is very expensive. Have it changed over to a newer refrigrant.

Go to Ford.com and look under service. I think there will be a place asking for year, make, and model. Then you click on owners manual/information - it will be a pdf file. You will be able to print it out.

Most modern alternators have the voltage regulator inside the alternator housing, so you have to take the vehicle to a automotive electrical shop to have the electrical system tested, unless you want to pull the alternator and take that in.
