Are carnivore bats or herbivore bats bigger Which are bigger megabats or microbats?
Mega bats are bigger because Micro means small and mega mean big.
All Plants need Nitrogen...
Plants need nitrogen in the form of nitrates and ammonia to make proteins. All plants. Nitrogen is required for lush, healthy green leaves. Some plants require more nitrogen than others.
What bacteria does not make its own food?
Heterotrophic bacteria do not make their own food and instead rely on organic compounds from their environment for energy and growth. Examples include many disease-causing bacteria like Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.
What is a coral reef herbivore example?
One example of a coral reef herbivore is the parrotfish. Parrotfish graze on algae and small invertebrates found on coral reefs, helping to maintain the health of the reef ecosystem by controlling algae growth and promoting coral growth through bioerosion.
WHo was America's ambassador to England during the Constitutional Convention?
During the Constitutional Convention, America's ambassador to England was Thomas Pinckney. He was not directly involved in the convention itself, as his duties were focused on diplomacy with the British government.
Plants take in water and nutrients from the soil through their roots. These nutrients are then transported through the plant's vascular system to where they are needed for growth and development. Plants also obtain energy through photosynthesis, in which they convert sunlight into chemical energy to produce their own food.
A coral polyp is a small, tubular invertebrate animal with a mouth surrounded by tentacles. It is the basic unit of a coral colony and is responsible for secreting calcium carbonate to form the hard coral skeleton that makes up coral reefs. Coral polyps have a mutualistic relationship with zooxanthellae algae that live within their tissues and provide them with energy through photosynthesis.
How do you make your own sealing wax?
Traditional sealing wax is a combination of
orange flake shellac beeswax, and ordinary plaster of paris. In some recipes a few drops of 100% pure essential oil is added to scent the sticks. Much like setters cement used in jewelry manufacture ; to set stones by hand one embeds the workpiece in "setter's cement" a combination of shellac in flake form and a number of other additives, and/or pitch - in either the burgundy or "black" variety.
In my own formula I use orange flake shellac, beeswax with the propolis ( so I don't have to refine the natural beeswax as it is a resin into itself),and gum Arabic or hand harvested pine pitch that has completely hardened and turned a rich mahogany or deep garnet reddish colour ( indicating the water is evaporated out of the pine pitch which can then be collected from older pine trees globally). It starts out as a quite sticky clear liquid sappy exudate and turns to a sugary crystalline substance appearing yellow then clarifies to an amber colour .With age and exposure to the elements it ends up as a brittle reddish gum resin.
Harvesting hardened pine pitch is an actually fun activity for families , scout troops and individuals looking for a cheap natural history oriented outing that results in the collection of a very versatile substance with applications from the arts to making fire starting sticks. Fatwood is a naturally occurring form of the pine pitch in root wood and can be used as is, though it can be split into smallish lengths or whittled into shavings and stored in a tinder box as a fire starting aid!It is highly flammable and in sealing wax may cause the stick to catch fire when directly heated with an open flame!
A number of more modern patents (ca.1950's onward) for sealing wax can be found that combine natural waxes ( carnauba being the hardest wax on the planet known thus far barring undiscovered botanical sources), and vinyl/acetate copolymers ( other wise known as plastics!),and "extenders that can be anything from plaster or shellacs as mentioned above.
Ordinarily or rather historically they are referred to as sealing wax candles and can be wicked, or wick-less. Wick-less sealing wax usually being melted in a sealing wax ladle- an iron crucible of sorts with pouring spouts or dimples cast into the mould for the ladle and generally having 10 or 12 gauge wire "feet" to allow the thing to be set level on a table as one ignites their alcohol lamp over which the ladle is held by a wooden handle ( most commonly) to melt the wax into then pouring the sealing wax over one's project. For instance sealing a bottle. Wicked sealing wax candles generally have sugar treated cotton wicks ( in their purest form and historically correct) embedded in the sticks form/mould and are used for sealing letters.
Recently a number of products have entered the consumer market that are "preformed" with a droplet for authenticity and sold in sheets, or as small discs of waxes that are used with a heat gun to scrapbooking hobbyists. This type can be found in pure beeswax, and soy waxes capitalizing on the "green" trend in marketing some having a self adhesive backing, which rather defeats the purpose of the greening of America , as the energy required to operate a heat gun ( another word for a blow drier!) is excessive. These discs are also sold with powders and other embellishing treatments like iridescent or pearlizing pigments to "customize" the no longer simple wax seal.
NO! Are you mental?
answ2. I have these last few days observed a Lady Beetle cannibalizing a L-B chrysalis. Took about 1 day, and I have photo.
This is perhaps not 'meat' but certainly includes the proteins etc of the 'soup' in a chrysalis.
There is an old saying "Does one swallow not a cannibal make?". Or something like that.
And, an adult L-B will willingly suck the interior from an aphid. But this is just the sap of a plant.
Is an anchovy a herbivore carnivore or an omnivore?
Anchovies are carnivores, feeding primarily on small fish, plankton, and other marine organisms. They are not herbivores, as they do not consume plants, and they are not considered omnivores because their diet consists mainly of animal matter.
Monkeys are primarily omnivores, meaning they eat both animals and plants. Their diet can vary depending on the species, but in general, monkeys consume a variety of foods such as fruits, seeds, insects, and sometimes small animals like birds or rodents.
A kestrel is a small bird of prey in the falcon family, known for its hovering flight while hunting for prey. Kestrels have a distinctive pointed tail, often exhibit a russet coloration, and are found in a variety of habitats worldwide. They prey on small mammals, insects, and birds.
Tadpoles are generally herbivores, feeding on algae, plants, and other organic materials found in the water. They have specialized mouthparts for grazing on vegetation until they undergo metamorphosis into adult frogs or toads, which may have a different diet.
A unicorn uterus is a type of reproductive anomaly where a woman has only one functioning fallopian tube and ovary instead of the usual two. This condition can affect fertility but can often be managed with medical intervention.
Yes they can!
You can clean them out of the pumpkin yourself and lightly toast them on an aluminum cookie sheet to dry them out, or you can buy them already packaged for your pet.
Are penguins omnivores herbivores or carnivores?
Penguins are carnivores and eat only sea-food. Their favorite food includes fish (especially anchovies), krill, and squid. Penguins catch food with their beaks and swallow it whole while swimming. Penguins have a spiny throat of which the fish (when consumed) gets stuck in the spines and suffocates to death. The penguin then swallows. They also have powerful jaws to grip slippery prey. Every year, penguins will go through fasting periods (a period of time when they don't eat). Before fasting begins, penguins eat a lot and build a layer of fat in their bodies, which will provide them with energy during the fasting period.
Most penguins feed on schooling fish, krill, and squid. Species that dine mostly on fish have bills that are hooked to help them capture prey, but bill shape alone does not determine what penguins eat. While each species has a favorite food, penguins will eat whatever is available. This flexibility has allowed them to adapt to changes in their environment. Penguins locate prey by sight and this can be problematic because the deeper a penguin dives, the darker it gets. Penguins overcome this because most squid and krill migrate daily to the surface, allowing penguins to stay within 100 meters of the surface. Species that hunt at night take advantage of the bio-luminescence (glow-in-the-dark) nature of prey.
Are moon jellyfish herbivores carnivores or omnivores?
Moon jellyfish are carnivores, feeding on small planktonic organisms such as fish eggs, larvae, and copepods. They use their tentacles to capture their prey and then move it to their mouth for digestion.
Is a honeybee a carnivore herbivore or omnivore?
A honey bee's diet consists of nectar and pollen, or honey which is made from nectar. All of these are from plant sources, so in this sense honeybees could be class as herbivores, but they don't eat any part of the plants themselves.
What will absolutely kill a yellow jacket bee instantly?
Using an insecticide specifically formulated to kill yellow jacket bees will likely kill them instantly. Another option is to hire a professional pest control service to safely and effectively eliminate a yellow jacket nest.
No, robins are omnivores, meaning they eat both plants and animals. Their primary diet consists of insects, worms, and other invertebrates, but they also consume fruits and berries.
Not all turtles are herbivores. Snapping turtles, for example, commonly eat fish or frogs. Many species of turtle, such as Russian tortoises, do mostly consume vegetation but will occasionally consume worms or insects.
Plankton can include both herbivores and carnivores. Phytoplankton are plant-like plankton that primarily obtain energy through photosynthesis and are considered herbivores. However, zooplankton are animal-like plankton that feed on phytoplankton and are considered carnivores.
