1996 civic tranmission dip stick

I have a 97 Honda and the same problem. I just started investigating myself. I was advised to look for a short in a wire harness just behind the intake manifold where the wires rub on a bracket. Usually there are three other codes in conjunction with the P1298 such as O2 sensors 1 and 2 and speed sensor. I guess this is common in older model Hondas. good luck

As far as I know, the seat belt with the retractor has to be replaced as a whole unit. You have to unbolt it from its floor anchor (make sure that all of the washers go back in the exact order they were in). Then pop off the cover for the upper anchor and unbolt that as well. Now things get to be a pain; the plastic interior moldings have to be removed to get to the retractor. The only specifics I know are based on a '00 Civic coupe, in which you have to remove the bottom of the back seat in order to get to the fasteners of the interior panel. From here just remove the necessary pieces, tracing them back to where the retractor is. The retractor simply has to be unbolted like the other anchors. Reverse for installation.

There is no fuse between the headlights and the battery.

If the headlights are dead, then your problem comes down to:

battery (may have some voltage, but no current)

and the battery cables.

if the Honda civic dx is a 92-95 then yes.

Hey well I am no expert but I need to do the same thing and the cheapest way I can think of is call around to some salvage yards and ask for your type of car and ask them for the parts you will need and if they do have your type car there and interior is in fairly good condition then they can show u how to take and replace what u need to do,thats how I get a lot of my parts for all my cars,9do some sanitizing and cleaning b4 installing0.....peace

there are two filler plugs on the passenger side of the transmission, the one on the top is the filler and the lower is the drain. The plugs are unique because you only need a half inch ratchet, they are square in shape. drain the oil and service with a Honda approved 30 weight engine oil.

This assumes it is a manual transmission. An automatic would have a dipstick and uses different fluid. Check your owners manual.

You don't need to use a Honda brand coolant. You just need to know what type of coolant your vehicle requires. Regular coolant (green) and dexcool(orange) Do not mix these two up! When you look at the coolant reservoir it should tell you what type it needs, if not there look in the owners manual or if all else fails just peer inside the reservoir or radiator cap(make sure the car is not hot or you might just have a face full of hot coolant) to see what color it is.

to make it easier, they make a coolant, which is compatible with any color coolant.

Remove wheel, remove dust cap, should be a castle nut with a cotter key, remove key and castle nut. if memory serves, the drum should come off now.

you have to make sure the transmission housing bolts match up to the engine's transmission bolt holes. Over all, engines are pretty strait forward. Also you would have to change wiring, some control modules and some mechanical parts. It shouldnt be that hard though

it could be your brakes? does it go to the right when you press the brake, if so then you should release the air from the right brake, if not maybe your allignment is not good.
