How to change the oil on a 1999 Honda Civic EX?

Changing the oil is pretty easy after a few tries. I've always done it myself. First of all, you need these equipments

-oil filter, check out which one you need at your local Wal-Mart -about 4-5 quarts of engine oil, depends on which one you car needs -a big pan for the dirty oil to drip into -and about an hour of your time -a jack to lift up your car on both sides

Alright, first of all, lift up your car so you can slide under the car. Make sure that the jack is not defective, or that might be your first and last oil change. Get under you car, put like a carpet underneath so you don't get dirty. Next try to find a screw on the bottom of the engine tank. It should be on the side of the tank. Unscrew it, and be prepared to put a pan underneath the tank, because the oil will start dripping out of the tank. After the oils are done dripping out, reach up the side of the engine tank and try to find the oil filter, and unscrew it. After the last drop of oil, put the screw back into the tank, and make sure it's tight. Then, take the new oil filter, put some oil around it first, and screw it in. Next you need to dump about 4-5 quarts into the engine, and you should be ready to go. You need to change your oil at least every 5000 miles. Do this at your own risk, all cars are different, even ones with the same make and model depending on where you are in the world. I will not be responsible for your injury, death, or humiliation, and I can't be sued just because you do not know me. I hope this information is sufficient-it should be or you're very dumb.

Before putting the new oil filter on you you should apply a little oil on the rubber gasket. You will only need to hand tighten the oil filter.

What causes a buzzing sound under the hood after turning off your 1996 2.7 4cyl tacoma 4wd?

Buzzing sound on 3.4 V6I'm stumped. I have the same sound coming from my 1997 3.4 V6 4WD. A very short "bzzzt" of less than a second and if you have the hood up for any length of time you'll probably hear it. I've tried to find where the sound is coming from but can't actually pinpoint it. It's somewhere around the power brake master cylinder on the driver's side. I thought it might be some type of pressure release or something that occurs soon after shutting off the engine but no, it's definitely an electronic sound. I've even heard it a few days after shutting off the engine. I'm stumped.

---that's the evap system

The answer to this question is in the link below. It also tells you how to fix it.

My 98 Tacoma just started the same thing yesterday. It is coming from the box right beside the Master brake cylinder. There is a hose that comes out at the front of the side and goes to the radiator. That hose had popped off. I put the hose back on but the truck sputters kinda like it is missing a cylinder. Can someone help PLEASE.

Why wont 1998 Honda civic ex cooling fan come on when car is on?

Answer

The cooling fan is not on all the time. When driving above 35 mph, ram air takes effect and the air going through the radiator is stronger than the air can be pulled by the fan.
When first starting the car, it may take several minutes for the fan to come on because the engine is "warming up".

The cooling fan is controlled by a thermostat. It is supposed to come on at a certain temperature. This often when the car is standing still in heavy traffic on a hot day. This causes the engine to get hotter than normal and the fan will switch on.

What could cause a clunking noise on the front drivers side of 2001 Windstar while driving down highway?

How do you replace a driver side view mirror on a 2004 Honda Civic EX that fell as a the result of a bump?

If it's just the glass mirror, you can purchase that from a glass shop that does windshields. It just glues in. If you need the whole assembly, you'll need to get that from the dealer or a body parts supplier and you'll probably have to take the inside panel off to get to the mounting screws.

How hard is it to change all the light blubs in the dash for a 97 Toyota Camry Toyota ran test said all the blubs are no good But they want way to much to fix?

It is very hard to believe that all the light bulbs went bad at the same time. That is almost impossible. I would suspect you have another problem, such as a blown fuse. What test did you run? The only way to test a bulb would be to remove it and check the continuity. auto zone is good at telling you want bulbs you need and how to change If it is your bulbs, I have changed mine many a time. Take a flat head screwdriver any pry off the modling around the gayges. Should pop out. This is of course only after u take out the 2 screws invisble to u unless you look under the lip, right above the gauges. once this is done it will let u pull the cluster out. There should still be the plastic cluster holding on, take a screwdriver and realease all of the clips, pull it out carefullythe mileage reset gauge CAN break off :). dont unplug just pull it out and turn upside down.... lights are underneath

ok i agree with the last comment the gauges are a removable panel remove the whole panel and they are underneath just a turn/twist screw holds the bulbs in place.

What is the difference between a Honda civic ex and an hx?

basically engine.... in the Ex they come stock with a 1.6 vtec, and Hx is a 1.6 sohc v-tec-e, enabling them to get great fuel economy (41 hwy and 31 city) whereas the Ex will get good fuel economy (32 hwy and 28 city) however, to do this, the Hx sacrifices some power (116 Hp vs the Ex's 127)... The Ex also comes standard with power windows, power locks, moonroof, keyless entry, and A/C where on other sub-models, such as the Dx and Lx, these are only options (that info is specifically from the 96-00 civics, may vary from generation to generation of the Civic)

How do you change both headlights on a 1997 Honda Civic?

On my 2000 civic I found it easiest to remove the bumper. It's not as hard as it may sound, actually there are only 4 bolts (2 10mm, 2 8mm), 2 screws (phillips), and 7 plastic pins holding the bumper on. Two bolts (8mm) are on the lip of the bumper in the wheel well, two (10mm) are on the underside of the bumper, and the screws are also on the underside, very near the front of the car. The plastic pins are on top, holding the grill in place. Remove these by prying the center of each pin with a flathead screwdriver. Once you've removed all the fasteners, pop off the corners of the bumper in the wheel wells, and pull the bumper off. There's a foam piece between the bumper and the body, make sure you put it back on when reassembling the bumper. Once the bumper is off, you can easily remove the headlight assemblies. They are held in place by 4 bolts (10 mm) each: 2 on top, 1 on the outer edge (by the wheel well) and 1 on the inner edge (by the grill). Remove the assemblies, then unplug the 3-prong plugs for the headlamps and remove the corner lamps by twisting them counter-clockwise. Once the assembly is completely removed from the car, pull the rubber seal off. Once that's done, you will see a metal clip. Press on the rounded end of the clip to open it, it's hinged on the side. The bulb will now pop out. Installation is reverse of removal. I know it sounds complicated but it really isn't. I've taken mine off to replace headlight bulbs and install custom headlight assemblies and it only takes about 20 minutes, start to finish.
