You must first do the power steering pulley to release tension. It's the pulley close to the fire wall. To release tension you need to jack the right side of the car up. Take the covers off by the right wheel. Power steering pulley will have three bolts to undo 1 is on the bottom in back of the pulley other 2 you can get on top. Just look really close to the pulley and you will see the grove where the pulley can move. None of the bolts need to come all the way out. The long bolt on top is what you use to make the belt tight.

The second belt is easy to change. You can do everything on top. Adjust 2 bolts at the alternator. One is long that's to make the belt tight one is small to adjust it and your on your way. If you have problems with the first pulley stop and take a look at the second one and it will give you a good idle. It looks like the first one but smaller.

Install speakers by connecting them to stock speaker wire if you do not plan on running your own. Next, disconnect both wiring harnesses from the 2 rear trunk mounted amplifiers (IF 1993.5 model with-out automatic seat belts) or 1 amplifier (IF 1993) and using 10-12ga make enough U-shape wires approx 2" in length and re-connect positive and negative back together. Search on www.G20.net for an illustrated diagram. Install speakers by connecting them to stock speaker wire if you do not plan on running your own. A/T - stands for Automatic Transmission. This is your trans. mode switch. Comfort Mode- It shifts quickly and smoothly. Power Mode- It revs up higher before shifting. Auto Mode-It picks power or comfort mode for you, power when you accelerate hard and comfort when you are going normally.

I had this same problem when I listened to CDs I recorded on my laptop. I cleaned the CD player, that didn't help although it did improve the sound clarity, I still had the clicking sound. I re-recorded the CD at higher speed, 20x, than the system default speed and I haven't had a problem since. It only returns if I play a CD recorded at a lower speed.

I have an original Infinity manual and also a CD-ROM with the 1993 Infinity fully illustrated and it lists both the Mitsubishi and Hitachi. I believe it's okay to use either. The spec design is almost the same! Bob F.

i had the same problem...i have to use my trunk button on my keys and then lift the trunk at the same time..it wont open with my key..and there is a trunk lock button in your glove box..idk if that will help.

I have a 2000 G20 and was needing motor mount and transmission mount

Luckily I found a complete set on line for $300.00 from O.C. Nissan in California.

I live in Texas. I went to a mechanic who works on my type of cars and he quoted me $ 300.00 to change the whole set.

So I spent around $ 600.00 and change.

If you go to the dealer you will spend lots of money for sure.

Shop around online and you can find good deals on many parts and have a mechanic put them on for you. You can save money like that. I did!

First check all fuses and/or relays. Then it could be your switch for your lights on the column,it was for mine-corrosion.

The knock sensor is located about 6" behind the oil filter, mounted on the engine block.

To see it is nearly impossible, there is not clear line of sight, but I placed my laptop on the engine and and I dropped the webcam behind the engine. I attached the webcam to a wooden stick so I can turn it. I also dropped a work light behind the engine as well. Replacing it is another story. I had the car on a ramp and worked from beneath. You can't see it and worked by feeling it, and you can not use both hands, there is no room. I had to cut a open wrench (if you don't have a stubby), I believe is a 12mm. I all honesty I gave up installing it, but I ultimately appealed to God for help, right there, under the car. To thread the bolt through the knock sensor, holding it right, placing it over the threaded hole in a very crammed space and turning the bolt, mostly using your index finger because there is no room for the thumb, using only your right hand and not seeing what you do IS A MIRACLE.

Note. After I removed the old one I pulled it up (the wire harness is long enough and allows) to the top of the engine where i could disconnect the old and attach the new. Good luck. (unfortunately I deleted the snapshots I took with the webcam...)

For G20 engines-SR20DE- Go on E-bay and there are several companies that will ship you an engine with about 50,000 miles for $500 or less. Your labor costs to put it in depends on how much your mechanic charges you to install the engine.

how do you disarm anti-theft in a infiniti g20

1993.5 Infinity G20 alarm removal / disengage /disconnect. Pulling the wiring connection off of the theft module cured my problem, who needs an alarm on a 1993 car anyway? The alarm mode was on with dead key FOBS and no way to reset it, horn beeping, would not start, and the alarm would not turn off with the key or remote.

2. disconnect theft module, the theft module (black box the size of a pack of cigs) is located next to and right of the steering column next to the flasher module (turn flashers on and you can feel the flasher module pulse). It is tucked up under, but the push tab can be reached as you pull the connection out, I took the steering column cowling off and the metal dash shield so I could get at it better (a few screws and bolts., no big deal)

I've been battling with this myself. I even have the same year as you. Last time I changed the fluid I special ordered the Type-J that the owner's manual calls for. Now I am replacing my tranny and my dad being in the auto parts biz most of his life got me Dextron III cause his books says that's what it callse for. He swears that it will be allright. If he is wrong then I'm going to make him buy me a new tranny. I guess I have heard from a few different sources that Dextron III is OK, so. I've been battling with this myself. warped flywheel and/or bad clutch

We are having that problem with our 1999 G20t. My honey first had the alternator and battery checked (he removed them ad took them to Advanced Auto). Those were in great shape. We were told it could be the ignition starter switch or starter fuse. Those two parts are only available at the dealership and not too expensive if you can replace it yourself. We are looking fro pictures on the net that might show us were those are located in the car. Hope that works a little.

It is quite easy actually! First off you need to loosen the tension bracket from the top, it's a longer bolt slightly above the alternator, now you need to get under the vehicle, there are only really two bolts holding it on, one very long one and a shorter one. After those are removed you can unplug the alternator from its power source on top...now to remove it..a little tricky! You now have to remove the A/C motor which prevents you from pulling the alternator out from the bottom..it is held on with 4 bolts..once it is off you can drop the alternator..

I don't actually follow the second part of the above answer because removing an an a/c motor is not quite easy. I removed the alternator from the top by removing the big radiator hose and its housing unit from the engine. When you put the housing back, just make sure you seal it good so water won't leak.

I have recently been researching the same question and the consensus is that the headlight switch needs to be replaced. Several people have said this solved their problem.
