Why does a 92 Cavalier rs 2.2 have gas to the injector but not to the throttle body and you can smell gas in the oil?

If you can smell gas in your oil that is a bad thing. If you take off your oil cap and look at the inside of the cap if you see a greyish milky whitish color than you more than likely are on your way to a fully blown head gasket. When the head gasket seal starts going it leaks gas into the motor causing it to mix with your oil. After a short period of time your oil/gas mixture will cause and overload in friction inside the motor and this will "blow" out at the weakest point that being your already damaged head gasket.

Does a 92 model jeep 4.0L have a camshaft positioning sensor?

no it does not due to the fact it does not have a camshaft. it does however have a crank sensor. the jeep 4.0L engine is a OHV engine not OHC. that means it is a pushrod engine instead of a camshaft driven engine

Where is the evaporator drain tube on a 1994 Grand Cherokee?

It is located in the front right side frame assembly in front of the fire wall. Have experienced it clogging and it is virtually impossible to reach. There should be a approximately 1.5" dia. hole in the top of the frame in front of the drain tube terminus. Try blowing into the hole with compressed air to dislodge and remove any debris that may be blocking the exit hole of the tube. I eventually enlarged the hole for better access to clear clogs.

How do you replace crankshaft position sensor on a 95 grand Cherokee Laredo?

Unless you are a competent wrench turner. Take it to a shop or dealer and pay the poor s.o.b.'s to put it in for you. It may cost you $300 plus the part but it will save your sanity...

Otherwise get ready to devote a good 2 to 6 hours to the project.

On my 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 the crank sensor is mounted just below the passenger side head on the back of the motor.

1. DISCONECT THE BATTERY! Remove the negative wire from the battery.

2. Remove the cap on the throttle body (19mm), disconnect the tube to the filter box. Mark and remove the plug wires and take off the distributor cap (small Phillips). The connector to the sensor on mine was on the right side (facing the vehicle) of the distributor, disconnect it.

3. Using 1/4" drive ratchet and extension, get your self a bit holder with a 1/4" Allen bit in it. If you reach down behind the head there is an emissions bypass tube that runs from the back of the head to the exhost manifold. The mounting bolts (2) for the sensor are just under that. On mine I had to loosen a bell housing bolt to move a ground wire out of the way. I was able to run the socket and extension between the tube and the head to get to the bolts.

4. Getting the sensor out is fairly straight forward pull up on it and wiggle it till it comes out of the grommet in the bell housing. (WARNING: Make sure the grommet does not fall down into the bell housing...) The emissions tube is constantly in the way so you have to work it around this godless peice of metal..

5. Re-insert the sensor. Again- (WARNING: Make sure the grommet does not fall down into the bell housing...) I slowly worked the sensor in and periodically verified the grommet was staying in place. Put the bolts back in, reconnect the sensor, put the distributor cap back on, re-attach the plug wires, put the cap back on the throttle body, connect the tube to the filter box and finally connect the battery.

If all has gone well you will hate your jeep because it just tore the crap out of you to replace a $50.00 part, but it should fix the problem of dieing while you are driving.

If you dropped the grommet into the bell housing:

Remove the starter (16mm), remove flywheel dust cover (4 11mm bolts) and fish out the grommet, you might have to turn the flywheel counter clock wise to get the grommet to drop down.

Hope this helps, and happy motoring.

How do you fix ac leak on passenger side floor of a 1998 jeep Cherokee?

I am assuming that this is actually water accumulating on the floor of the vehicle. If this is the case you will need to pull the front edge of the carpet back on the passenger side. There is a "drain hose" about the thickness of a "Sharpie" magic marker. They are usally black in color. What usally happens is that they become a popular home for spiders and the will cause a blockage not allowing the Evaporator box to drain water. You can detach the hose from the box on the inside of the vehicle and stick a wire hanger through it to clear the blockage. On the other hand, sometimes the hose actually gets kinked not allowing the water to escape. It is fairly simple to complete this repair and should take no more than 15 minutes. While you have the carpet pulled back see if you can find any rubber plugs in the floor of the car. I would puul one of them out to allow the carpet to drain out. Water in carpets is bad. This usally develops into a mildew problem if left unattended. The smell is terrible and the only way to rid of it is to remove the entire carpet to either clean it or replace it. Cleaning a carpet and allowing it to dry takes days. It has to be completely dry including all padding or else it will re-mildew.

What are the torque specifications on the head and rocker arms on a 1989 Jeep Wagoneer with a 360 motor?

Have access to a haynes or chilton manual? they list the torque specs in each of these manuals. If not, they usually cost about $12 at your local auto parts store, or maybe even they have a manual w/o the plastic on it, you could take a glance. Most auto shops when called will kindly provide you with the specs also.

How do you know if the transmission is slipping in a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Limited?

On my 1997 Grand Cherokee Limited, you could feel the slip - especially after backing up first thing in the morning and then shifting into Drive.

My dad has a 1995 and he had slip issues too.

The fix was simple for both Jeeps - check the transmission fluid level. As little as one pint of lost fluid can make the transmission start slipping. It seems like such a small amount given the capacity of the transmission but filling to the correct level fixed the slip on both Jeeps.

Do not over fill.

It worked for me and might not for you - but it is a quick and inexpensive first thing to check.
