possibly your throttle position sensor is bad or not set properly. Take the connections off the battery, clean then, and wait 15 mins to reinstall. During that time make sure the throttle position sensor is in the idle position, as in closed. Rehood the battery, tighten the connections then crank. The computer may need to relearn the electrical signals from the TPS and if you had your foot on it when trying to start it with a dead battery, you may have sent an errant message to the computer about the location of the throttle blade.

You failed to mention the year and make of the Jeep, but I will make a few assumptions. On earlier XJ and ZJ models, there was a security system that would prevent the vehicle from starting if the battery was disconnected.

I would take your ignition key and lock and unlock the drivers side door a few times and see if that resolves your issues.

You take out the old one, go to Fleet Farm, Turn in the old one at the service desk, Go to the battery section, find the correct battery, Purchase it minus core discount, take it home, put it in, hook it up, charge it, and start the jeep. Take battery to any parts store and they should charge it for you, if not buy a new battery and that'll solve the problem. Depending on year you could try to bypass the cylenoid. Look for the starter, big round part 4 bolts attached somewhere on bottom of motor. Next to it or connected somewhere to it is the cylenoid 4 leads wires hanging off. Touch far left 2 leads with a screw driver and see if engine will try to start at all.

A 76 top will fit newer models, but not pre 76 if both are CJ-5 style jeeps. Your question is not model-specific but I reviewed all the 2003 Jeep models and they all appear to have standard hook arm attahments. See the link below to view installation videos for hook arms.

Since jeep began they have used outside vendors for this type of part. Most jeeps have GM steering colums and gerars. If it is a GM steering box: Turn the steering wheel to the center position and loosin the nut on top of gearbox ( there will be a bolt with a stright slot scredriver head sticking up that this nut hold in place) using your hand on the steering shaft turn the bolt clockwise while rocking the shaft right and left and you will notice the play reduce. DO NOT TURN THIS BOLT MORE THAN 1/4 TURN AT A TIME AND NEVER FORCE THIS BOLT TO TURN. After you have reduced most of the slack tighten the nut and start the engine and test the slack in the steering wheel. This is a shade tree adjustment and you may have to play with it a few times and with a jeep of this year you will never get all the play out but it will help a lot. If you over tighten this bolt you will feel a tight spot in the center position of the steering wheel while driving and may need to back off the bolt a little. Make a mental note of the position of the screw driver before you start this because if the gearbox is shot this adjustment will not work and you will want to put it back where it was and and find a replacement steering box. Hopefully I can help. I just had the same issues and tried replacing the same parts in my 91 Honda accord. It turns out, I needed to replace the entire distributor instead of pieces and parts. There was a wiring issue. It was actually cheaper to buy the whole unit instead of individual parts also.

I have done all the thing that you are talking about and replaced the distributer and mine still wont get any fire to the coil. I am trying to find out what to do next. check en gen lite come on wen u turn key on if no check fuse is
