How long does it take for alcohol to be absorbed into the bloodstream on an empty stomach?
A lot less time than you think! Alcohol is not digested like normal food and drink. It goes directly into your bloodstream - 20 percent through the stomach walls and the rest through the intestinal walls. Having a lot of food in your stomach will slow the passage of the alcohol somewhat. On an empty stomach, a shot of whiskey is in the blood vessels in your arm in seven seconds. It touches every major part of your body within two minutes.
Here's the thing - your body can only get rid of ½ to 3/4 ounce of alcohol in one hour. This is the equivalent of 1 ounce of 100-proof whiskey, one large beer, or about 3 to 4 ounces of wine. If you drink more than that in an hour, you will get drunk!
How does tolerance to alcohol affect BAC?
Tolerance to alcohol does not affect immediate measures of BAC. A tolerant person can have a much higher BAC without feeling the effects but according to the law they are more drunk than a person with a lower amount that is highly affected by alcohol.
To be more specific, high tolerance essentially affects the level of habituation a person's neurons have adapted to alcohol and reduces the number of receptors that they have for alcohol. Yes - as more of the alcohol that is drank enters the bloodstream. IE - you drink three drinks real fast - get pulled over and blow a .09. Then you go to the station 30 minutes later and it is a .12 - happens all the time. However - it is the alcohol consumed that is doing it - nothing else. Sorry if this does not help your case. The body simply does not absorb alcohol that fast.

The needles are really not that bad. They are placed in the antecubital area of each arm (where the bend is in your arm) For me, they used a 16 gauge in one arm and an 18 gauge in the other. It stings for just a few seconds, then the pain goes away. I would say for me the pain of the needles was maybe a 1 out of 10. The needles stay in your arms through out the entire donation which can last up to two hours. They do not replace them with a plastic catheter as is done in an IV, so you have to keep your arms straight throughout the entire donation.

If you were say using Heroin and Morphine showed in the test that could well be the Heroin was cut with various chemicals not least some morphine.
