Is door panel removal necessary to repair door ajar alarm on 1999 Lincoln contentinal?

I take it you are referring to the door ajar switch, which is located on the bottom of the latch assxembly. Yes, the door panel must be removed to gain access to the inside mounted latch. I just did this. The latch assembly is best removed to change out the switch. Not an easy fix - there are four control rods (for the drivers door) and a cable assembly plus a wire harness .attached to the latch. The power door lock motor is also attached and to remove it requires rivets be drilled ouof it and the inside door handle assembly.

If your car keeps saying the door is ajar when it is closed you need to spray WD40 into the latch. Its very easy, just open the door and spray WD40 into the latch and close and open the door a few times. This should fix your problem. Make sure you do it to all the doors because they will start to all do the same.

Where is the flasher located on a 97 Lincoln continental?

This is normally located under your dash somewhere. I always find it in a different location. I normally just tun on the flashers/ turn signals if they work and listen and feel to find it. It should be a small box that has a wire connecter on it. I know that's a very vague description but, I just don't know where it would be exactly on a Lincoln as I have never had to replace one on a Lincoln. Hope this helps you get started in the right direction.

Why would the air bag light be blinking code 33 on a 2001 Lincoln Continental?

CLAY replied: Sorry but this is Not a DIY repair. Take it to a professional. ==New Answer Headline== Reply from MIKENTUCKY: Questions are posted to get answers, not opinions. If you don't know the answer, then please don't respond. Or, if you must present your opinion, please present an answer with it. A suitable answer would be "The air bag system is highly dangerous, and should not be worked on by someone not intimately trained in and aware of those dangers. To answer your question though, a code 33 means..." Just FYI, I am a vehicle mechanic by trade for almost 10 years and HAVE been trained on the dangers and procedures of working on the air bag system. However, I do not have access to a tester to indicate what problem code 33 means. Thanks ==New Answer Headline== Answer from Mikentucky: After much searching, a code 33 indicates a high resistance at the passenger side airbag. As in most other "high resistance" cases, this is usually attributed to a poor connection, usually because you overstuffed your glove compartment and caused the unprotected connector located in the top of it to become slightly disconnected :-)

How do you change the windshield wiper fluid pump in a 1996 Lincoln Continental?

The pump is located under the reservoir for the fluid. Two screws hold the reservoir in place. Unscrew them, lift the reservoir and you will see the pump on the attached to the reservoir. It is easy to replace. But empty the reservoir the best you can before you change the pump. And change the pump filter as well, since this being clogged is likely what caused the pump failure. It located at the same area and is part of the replacement pump.

How do you install a oil pressure switch in a 1994 Lincoln Continental?

This should help. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_change_the_oil_sending_unit_on_lincoln_continental_1994

== == If you are replacing the oil sending unit due to indications from your dash that you have no oil pressure, the odds are that you oil sending unit is fine. When the instrument cluster starts to die, erroneous oil pressure indications are one of the classic symptoms, along with funky temprerature readings and "Check DCL" warnings. If you are seeing any of these as well, the oil unit is a waste of time and money. The instrument cluster itself is more likely your problem.

Coolant capacity for a 1994 Lincoln continental?

theres is only one way to tell, when you go out to your car open the radiator, if you cant see in, get a flashlight to see if you see coolant if not fill your vehicle up to the neck and then start the car, wait until you see coolant go down and refill a little at a time until you see it at the bottom of the neck constantly until it doesnt go down. Now your waiting on the thermostat to open, if the coolant starts to rise and come out, put the lid on and your done. that's its capacity, check it everyday or every other day. if your loosing coolant check under your vehicle for leaks, if none, check every other day.

How to replace a Starter Lincoln continental 1991?

You're going to have to crawl down under the engine for this one. First, remove the ground cable from the battery. Second, after making an accurate diagram of the wiring postions on the starter, go ahead and take the wire off. Third, remove the starter. Now it's time to either rebuild the starter you have or replace with a new one. Once you've done that, re-bolt the starter into place. Fourth, replace the wiring on the new starter EXACTLY as your diagram tells you to (just it way it was on the old one). Fifth, reconnect the ground cable and fire that baby up!!!

How do you change an ignition coil on a 1994 Pontiac Bonneville?

Hi, mark here. just did one myself. On left side of engine you will find a bank of 3 coils that have spark plug wires on top of them. On each side you will find a screw that needs a 5mm socket to remove each coil. I found the 1st coil is probably bad on most 3.8 v6's that have a rough idle. For some reason this one goes out before the rest do. About 27.00 each to replace. Don't buy all three unless you just want to. buy one and try each one until you find bad coil. I did now car runs like a rocket again. Don't be afraid to buy used parts from salvage yard. It will help you out in a jam for a lot less money. Also you can try different things if no one can figure out whats wrong. Also autozone will do a free check on computer to try and tell you whats wrong with car. Hope this helps
