Mazda 626

Take door panel off inside of door, detach rod connected to door lock and two nuts off door handle. Remove and replace. Before removal, check to see if connector lock is not broken causing your problem. This is common for older model cars.

It may run a little bit rough or it may just run the same. Usually the check engine light will come on and it will indicate that you are running rich on left or right fuel bank. I am not a mechanic so my answer maybe incorrect. But this is what happened to my truck when the map sensor went bad.

UNDER THE CAR THERE IS what looks to be a square cut out of the plastic on the bottom. thats where the oil pan is drained.

when the oil comes out it will flow backwards about a foot, so have the pan behind it and not directly under it. loosen the bolt on the oil pan.

oil will come out from the hole. Then when its done emptying out you move the pan to the front of the car under the oil filter.

If you have a canister filter you will not trash the canister.... you first and carefully loosen the plug on the canister....this is nice so you don't burn yourself with the hot oil from the oil filter.....drain canister.....loosen, strong hand and rubber glove can do this, otherwise use strap tool. change filter catrage and rubber seals.

Now that you have changed the filter and screwed it back in snugly "not too tight" poor 5.3 qts back in the 2.5l 4cyld mazda motor.

your car will like you for it, motor will run real nice and quite on penzoil 5w-30.

Remove the air breather and its underneath.

Where is the cabin filter located on a 2002 Mazda 626?

Under steering wheel and on upper left side of engine bay

remove engine or transmission to get to rear oil seal . you have to remove fly wheel to r/r rear seal .pretty heavy dutyjob.

the CD player has 2 little black covers on the edge of it, 1 on the left and 1 on the right. take them off(don't loose them cus u'll never find a replacemnt for them) then use 2 DIN tools(or just use a hanger cut 2 pices of and bend them into a "U" shape) and insert into the 4 holes that are revealed after taking the little covers off. push the DIN tools away from the radio and pull the radio out at the same time.

The fuel filter is located underneath the air filter box. It is quite awkward to get to unless you complete remove the air filter box. Be sure to open your fuel tank to relieve pressure before unhooking the fuel lines and put a pan on the ground to catch the fuel.

I have a 99 Mazda 626 and mine is on the passenger side of the car. Look for a black cylinder close to the firewall. You should find a small screwoff cap on the black cylinder. This is where you connect your hose to add freon. The high pressure and low pressure service ports are different sizes, so you can't get them mixed up and connect to the wrong one. Hope this helps!

If your hand brake doesn't work you may just need new brakes in the rear, but in some cases the hand brake cable may have stretched and need some adjustment. To adjust the hand brake cable tention you must remove the 1" by 1/2" cover located on the driver side right next the the handbreak. You will find a hex nut that controls the tention which has a socket size of 12mm. Turn nut to the right until desired tention on handle.

the shut off switch should be in the trunk left side near the outer left taillight.

I have a 89 Mazda 626 with a similar problem. Sometimes when I go to start it it won't start. (It does not click like yours does.) All I do is put the car in neutral and turn the key. It starts right up. Maybe this could help you.

start with checking your coolant level/condition. Either top up or change if needed. Inspect lower/upper radiator hose and radiator to see visible leaks. If located replace the component leaking. Check Coolant Temperature Sensor. He will check the above things as well as the water pump and head gasket for leaks and proper operation.

The IAC valve has two openings on the back of it. Spray throttle body cleaner or

brake cleaner spray into the holes and clean with q tips. There is a spring in

the middle interior of the IAC valve. It loosens up a little after being sprayed

and rubbed with q tips. You can access this area without opening the IAC valve.

We tried to open the IAC and had no luck. The screw in the bottom center of

the IAC is plastic and a torq bit tool is probably required.

We bought a used IAC off eBay for $70. It cleared our P1506 code : Idle air control overspeed error. But that code is back and I'm thinking it's the Front Left oxygen sensor since that sensor controls the fuel injectors and we have a lean isssue that I

am judging to be the cause for the RPM overspeed.

Just bought a new original equipment Denso oxygen sensor from www.densoproducts.com

One thing worth mentioning is we have a 1999 Mazda 626 V6 manual transmission

and I bought a throttle body with throttle position sensor and a IAC valve for a

2000 Mazda Millenia and they are interchangeable parts.

I don't know but it happend to me too this morning....:S

Most modern Japanese cars require the font bumper and possibly grill to be removed before removing the headlights. Once the front bumper is off you can usually see the mounting bolts for the headlight fairly easily.

Mazda starting problems

Just did this on my 1998 Mazda 626 ES it goes as follows:
-From the outside of the trunk look above the license plate.
-Use a screw driver to pry out the light fixture by sliding it left or right then tilting it out of the hole.
-From the top of the light fixture twist the bulb assembly out of the fixture.
-If the auto shop sold you the whole bulb assembly then just twist the new one back in and you are good.
-If the auto shop sold you just the bulb, you need to unhook the bulb wires off of the bulb assembly and even scrape them off of inside the metal plate they are hooked around to get the bulb out.
-Unbend the wires on your new bulb so that they stick out below the bulb.
-Insert the bulb straightened wires first into the assembly.
-From the back of the assembly where the wires now stick out, bend the wires over the metal plate in the same fashion that the old ones were.
-If you have some solder it won't hurt to tack this wire down. I didn't and my lights work (so far).

It doesn't have one. No darin plug just remove the lower pan and tilt it down and its side and drain the fluid. Don't forget to change the filter. Replacing the bolts must be done in sequence and torgued to a specification.

The 15A fuse for the cigarette lighter also supplies the power mirrors and audio system, and is located in the left side kick panel under the dashboard. It's the middle fuse, fourth row down, labeled "E" in the factory diagram. Hope this helps.

The timing should be at 6 degrees for a non-turbo, with the distributor vacuum lines disconnected and plugged. It will be at 9 degrees for a turbo, with a test connector for idle setting grounded.
