Why wont your automatic transmission shift into third gear?
Depending on the vehicle, lets say you own a Chrysler, the electronic transmission has a mode referred to as "limp in" mode. Your vehicle will run only in second, or maybe third gear(transmission). In most cases, if there is something mechanically wrong with your tranny, you will hear it or feel it, or have total failure.
In the case of an electronic problem, the check engine light accompanied by the inability to shift through the gears could be due to a faulty governer pressure sensor and or solenoid. Occasionally with Chrysler electronic trannys, the solenoid gets frozen and will not engage with the correct force. Fault code will indicate Governer pressure sensor voltage too low, etc. This can be remedied easily by purchasing the parts over the internet and dropping the transmission pan, removing the valve body, and replacing the two parts.

How do you remove the rotor form a 1989 323 Mazda?
I assume you mean the rotor for the distributor. It is held in place with a small Phillips head screw. Take of the distributor cap (held in place with two Phillips head screws). Turn the engine over until the contact portion of the rotor is pointing down. Unscrew the machine screw from the rotor arem and pull the rotor off the distributor shaft.
If you are refering to the brake rotor, you will need to jack the car up and support it on jack stands. Remove the road wheel & tire. Have someone step on the brake pedal, and undo the nut holding the half-shaft to the hub assembly. Remove the two bolts holding the brake caliper to the strut. Remove the cotter pin and undo the nut of the tie rod from the hub assembly; uncouple the tie rod end from the steering arm of the hub assembly. Undo the bottom pinch bolt (holds the axle carrier to the lower ball joint). Remove the top two bolts of the axle carrier/brake rotor assembly. You can now take the axle carrier/brake rotor assenbly off the car.
Working on the bench, bend back the loaking tabs for the rotor retaining bolts, then remove the retaining bolts. You should now be able to remove the brake rotor from the hub. Note if you have committed to replacing your brake rotors, you will probably want to repalce you hub bearinsg and seals while you have these assemblies off the car.
Also be sure to inspect your lower ball joints and brake pads and replace if worn.
CheersMalcolm
Advantages of the Miller cycle engine?
The Miller Cycle engine has a very flat torque curve, with maximum torque achieved at 3500 rpm, as compared to Otto Cycle (standard 4-stroke) engines which generally require 4500 rpm or higher.
Due to this lower-end torque ability, the Miller Cycle engine is capable of moving much heavier loads at a much lower fuel economy.

When do you replace the Timeing belt on a Mazda millenia?
The previous response was: "I have a Mazda millenia 1998 that has over 200,000 miles on it. I have always replaced my timing belt every 60,000 miles. I hope this helps."
The manual says to change at 105,000. The reality is that the belts are kevlar and will likely last much longer. The engine is non-interference so it will not damage the engine if it breaks. The experts I speak with say they would drive it until it breaks.
It will cost you around $500 at least in labor to replace and many times if the job is done improperly you will have other problems as a result.
For the record, my 99 S has 110,000 on the original belt. I'm not even thinking about replacing it... until it breaks (if that ever happens).
How do you change and where is the location of the Knock Sensor on a 1998 Mazda Millenia?

Code 1525 typically refers to a specific error or status code related to a particular system or device, but its meaning can vary widely depending on the context. For example, in some automotive diagnostics, it may indicate a specific fault or issue with the vehicle's systems. In other contexts, such as software or hardware, it might represent an error in processing or a configuration problem. To provide a precise interpretation, more information regarding the system or device in question is needed.
What is the warranty on a 1998 Mazda Millenia S catalytic converter?

There is a sensor up pn the firewall I think called an EGR sensor. I understand many Melinnias have this problem. Replacing the sensor for some reason just causes the replacement to go bad. My solution was to just remove it. Sure, my emissions are probably not as good, but it has never stalled again. My engine light stays on but hey, who cares? The sensor I found was located almost dead center - clightly to the driver side about 3-6 inches away from the firewall connected to an electrical connection. Mysterioiusly the part had a Mitsubishi emblem on it! Maybe an OEM part from the Mazda dealer would have corrected this, but my solution seems to work just fine.
Answercheck the main fuseI have the same 1st 2 codes(problem). The EGR valve assy is a spaceship shaped item, behind the rear spark plugs, slightly underneath the plugs. It has two vac hoses (top and bottom). The other part discussed above, is the MAP sensor. I found that one store may sell you the top portion of the MAP sensor assy, but not the lower. I have found that another store will sell you the whole assy, and all you have to do is remove 2 nuts, 2 vac hoses and 2 elec connectors. This I have done (whole assy). My codes are still there. This was the cheapest route, so far. That part was $200 at "AZ", with the EGR valve being $350. It may nickle and dime me, but at least it'll eventually pass local emissions testin requirements (eventually). I bought a scanner/eraser to check and erase my codes. Have not encountered the P15xx series, yet.
How do you drain radiator on a 97 Mazda Millenia?
You would remove the radiator cap to ensure smooth flow.
Put a pan or bucket under the radiator to catch the coolant. Please make sure you don't spill any, or clean it up if you do. Antifreeze tastes sweet. Cats, dogs and other animals are very attracted to it. It is fatal when they drink it. For us too.
There should be some kind of a draincock at the bottom of the radiator. Open it to drain the coolant. Flat pliers or similar tool might help opening the draincock if it is stuck, but be very careful not to break it. They are made of plastic and can become crisp with age.
If the draincock doesn't seem to open (or you might break it), you could, as a last and rather messy resort, open the clamp around the lower radiator hose and hope that the entire content of the cooling system doesn't escape all at once. Have a wide bucket ready!
Be aware, you cannot the drain the radiator without draining the entire cooling system because it's all connected. When you refill the system, please follow the procedures as described in the answer to "How do you bleed the coolant for a 1998 Mazda Millenia?" This will avoid bad and costly surprises with an incompletely filled cooling system.
on the millenia, the drain is on the passenger side of the radiator. you have to look from underneath, you will see an access hole in the splash shield. a large Phillips screwdriver is used to loosen/remove the drain plug.

Unless of course you are stealing it and in that case ask the owner for the key.
What happens if you don't properly reset your engine?
"reset your engine"?? this makes no sense. If you mean what happens if you don't reset your check engine light, then the answer is usually that the car will put itself in fail safe mode or limp mode. Depending on model and what code is causing the check engine light. Either way gas mileage will suffer, and usually car is limited in RPM's and power.
1996 Mazda Millenia wouldn't start got a jump but when I took battery cables off the engine died?
Don't know about this issue re: Mazda.... but all other cars will cut off when the battery is disconnected, if the alternator is dead (bad). In the olden days, the alternator was called a "generator". That's because it continuously generated power for lights, horns, etc. That "generator" regenerates/recirculates power to keep the car cranked, but when you turn on your lights, the generator cranks out more power for the extra load. With a bad generator (alternator), your car's system does not have enough amps to keep the system running.
