Where is a Mazda protege 2001 fuel injector located?

The fuel injectors are located under the fuel rail, between the intake manifold and the valve cover.

How do you know when the fuel pump go's bad on a 2001 Mazda protege Lx?

If the fuel pump fails, fuel pressure will drop dramatically, causing noticable driveability issues. possible results could be lack of power, hard starting, stalling under load, rough idle, no-start conditions. you can probably expect the lean condition caused by low fuel pressure to cause eventual catalytic converter failure due to high exhaust temp if untreated, you may notice overly high engine temperatures, O2 sensor failure, and the MIL (malfunction indicator lamp) will come on as the PCM reports lean conditions, fuel pressure out of acceptable ranges, fuel pump failure or issues. due to the possibility of Mazda having not installed a fuel pressure monitor, the PCM may not know the cause of the lean condition and will attempt to modify pulse width to compensate. if it is unable to, a fault code will be logged. additionally, if left untreated long enough, a lean condition can cause the aforementioned cat failure, or may cause hot spots in the cylinders causing premature detonation. if you suspect a fuel pump failure, i would recommend one of two paths. if you have the equipment and information, check the actual fuel pressure at idle, part throttle and WOT against spec. if you do not have the ability to do this, go to the dealership and suggest you think it may be a fuel pump issue. if you wish to diagnose this, you should find the OBDII connector (data link connector) under the dash/steering wheel. most aftermarket code readers are relatively inexpensive and may tell you what the issue is. remember NOT to clear the codes or freeze-frame data, as this can not only cause the issue to worsen as the PCM relearns the problem, it may cause OTHER issues. also, it's a hassle for the garage you take it to.

Note: Fuel line pressure should be 270-310 kpa (39-45 psi)

What type of oil does a 2003 Mazda Protege5 take?

regular (83)...most mid size cars that arent of fancy origin (i.e BMW, Lexus Auti and so fourth) only require regular bc the higher fuel grades produce more heat which although last longer some cars cant handle the extra heat in the engine...unless specified other wise by your car dealer than use regular

Not sure if you are asking about fuel oil or motor oil. As for fuel oil (gasoline) regular is fine, as for motor oil 5w-30 is recommended for most later model vehicles with a few exceptions that recommend 5w-20. Your owners manual or a Haynes repair manual will tell you exactly what type is recommended for your specific vehicle as well as tell you the fluid capacity.

Why is water leaking from the undercarriage on the passenger side under the dashboard area?

you probably need a new thermostat, remove the one you have then get a new one asap.

How do you replace water pump on 1999 Mazda protege?

You have to remove the front passenger side tire and the plastic guard from the underside. You then have a series of plates and covers that you must remove before getting this out. Because of the amount of work it took, and the amount of things you had to take off to get to it, I had all three belts replaced while it was apart. I had a good car guy do it for me for cheap but it is not something that your average knowledge car guy could prolly do alone.

My van overheats on the highway but not in the city it's a 1995 Mazda e2000 petrol the radiator is full and the oil level is good any ideas?

The faster the engine runs, the faster the water pump spins. The faster the water pump spins, the more water is being circulated through the cooling system. Apparently there is a restriction that is preventing all the coolant from circulating properly at high speeds. You might want to flush the radiator (for sure) or the entire system (if necessary).

How do you replace the fuel filter on a 1991 Mazda Protege or 323?

on my 1992 protege the fuel filter is a fairly large canister mounted vertically on the firewall. It is held in place with a metal band that you undo and then just has the usual 2 spring clamps for the fuel hoses. To reach the top one I had to move the air filter stuff out of the way. To get the bottom clamp off required going under the vehicle. To put the new one on, start under the vehicle and hook up the bottom clamp first. To get under the vehicle I jacked up each front wheel and put three 2 * 8 boards under it since I could not drive up ramps with the old filter half off.

If the timing belt broke in a 1994 Mazda protege 1.8 sohc do the pistons hit the valves?

They can. The only way to know for certain is to put a new belt on and run a compression test. If one or more cylinders don't build compression after you've properly installed a new timing belt, the piston kissed a valve. BTW, it doesn't take much to bend a valve beyond being usable.

How do you install rear speakers in 2000 Mazda Protege?

There are three huge bolts covered with a trip peace rising out of the rear deck, the middle of which rotates. Pry the trim of the bolts to expose the head of the bolts. Use a wrench to remove the bolts. Using a flat blade screwdriver, gently pry up the housing for the rear shelf brake light to release the clips. Disconnect the wire to the bult and remove the brake light housing. Bend the rear seats forward and remove the two clips that hold the front of the rear deck to frame of the car. Lift up the rear deck gently to break loose the clips that hold the rear shelf to the horizontal frame: you will need to go into the trunk and squeeze on these clips to help it come through the hole. When the cardboard shelf clears the frame, slide it forward to expose the speakers. Remove the stock speakers (which by the way, are a piece of junk, Mazda and all auto manufactures should be ashamed) and install your new speakers. Replace rear shelf and brake light housing and enjoy.

How do you bypass the fuel pump?

Bypass the fuel pump? Do that and the car will receive no fuel and will therefore not run.

If you mean electrically, the fuel pump relay is located by the computer on the passenger floor board underneath the center console consealed by a small panel (94 Protege) the black wire with pink tracer is the power wire for the pump. The big white wire with what I think is a red tracer is the constant power wire that is the supply. Jump those two together with the key in the on position and the pump should put out anywhere from 62-94 Psi.
